Chapter 633 Encountering Danger

Gabriel jerked back and then forward, smacking his head on the seat in front of him.

"What the heck just happened?" he muttered, rubbing his sore forehead.

The airbag had saved Alex, and after a moment, his dizziness cleared up, letting him see what was going on.

"Mr. Lancaster, you alright?"

"I'm good. You hurt?"

"Nope, I'll go check it out."

Benjamin had also hit his head, but luckily, the car hadn't hit his side, and the windshield was still intact.

He quickly unbuckled his seatbelt and hopped out to assess the situation.

Suddenly, a bunch of cars pulled up, surrounding them. Gabriel sensed danger and yelled, "Get back!"

But it was too late. Over a dozen guys jumped out, each wielding a big iron rod, and started attacking Alex and Benjamin.

Benjamin dodged a few hits, but he wasn't trained and couldn't keep up with the attackers. After a few evasions, he got whacked in the back and then the legs.

"Benjamin!" Alex rushed over.

Gabriel quickly got out to help.

Seeing Gabriel, the attackers shifted their focus to him.

Gabriel knew these guys were after him.

His phone was still in the car, and the video call with Harrison was ongoing. Harrison already knew Gabriel was in trouble. Using Gabriel's phone location, he pinpointed his position and sent out a distress signal.

"Alex, protect Benjamin," Gabriel ordered, grabbing a fallen iron rod and fighting back.

He'd been working out regularly, so he could handle himself pretty well.

These guys were clearly trained, and Gabriel couldn't afford to let his guard down.

Just as they were figuring out an escape plan, more cars showed up, and another group of men got out.

Alex was getting exhausted and couldn't hold on much longer.

Gabriel had to protect both Benjamin and Alex, and he was running out of steam. Eventually, he got knocked to the ground.

Before blacking out, Gabriel thought he heard police and ambulance sirens.

Sophia suddenly woke up, her forehead damp with sweat.

She'd had a nightmare but couldn't remember it.

She still felt a lingering fear.

Sophia turned on the bedside lamp and checked the time. It was the middle of the night, and she had three more hours to sleep.

But after lying back down, she couldn't fall asleep. Her heart was racing, and she felt uneasy.

She couldn't shake the worry about Gabriel.

Sophia scoffed at herself, thinking, 'Why am I worried about him? Isn't he with Tiffany in Country M? Didn't he say he had an emergency business trip to Country M, but with Tiffany?'

She'd already had Caroline find out that Gabriel and Tiffany were staying at the same hotel.

Sophia decided to get up and work on her design sketches.

But when she was stressed, she couldn't draw well and ended up wasting a bunch of paper.

In the morning, the three kids were unusually quiet and didn't make a fuss.

Celeste and Ruth thought the kids hadn't slept well.

"If you didn't get enough sleep, you don't have to go to school today," Celeste said, not wanting the kids to be tired.

Ethan said seriously, "No, we can't slack off on our studies."

Emma chimed in, "Yeah, that's what Mom said. Even though we've read all the textbooks, she says if we skip school, we'll lose touch with our friends and struggle to make new ones."

Sam thought to himself that he didn't need many friends; having Ethan and Emma was enough.

Celeste said, "Your mom's too strict."

Sophia replied, "Grandma, if I didn't keep them in line, they'd be causing all sorts of trouble."

Emma stuck out her tongue and giggled.

Ethan sipped his milk nonchalantly.

Sam followed Ethan's lead and drank his milk too.

Celeste laughed heartily, "These kids are so smart and cute. What's wrong with a little craziness? As long as they don't break the law or hurt anyone, it's fine."

Sophia noticed that Celeste had a bit of an unconditional love for the children.

Sophia sighed, "Grandma."

"Alright. I'll have Colin take them to school later."

Colin was more than happy to do so, and the three kids liked Colin a lot. On the way, Emma kept chatting, and when they arrived at school, she pointed to a classmate.

"Uncle Colin, he always brags about how great his aunt is. When are you going to find me an aunt?"

Colin was silent.

He suspected that Celeste and Jennifer had conspired with Emma to pressure him into getting married.

"Do you want an aunt?" Colin gently tugged on Emma's braid.

Emma nodded, "Yes, you need to find me a gentle, elegant, beautiful aunt who treats us very well."

"Well, I've decided to stay single for life."

Emma's eyes widened. "Then I won't have an aunt?"

"Nope."

Emma pouted, "One less person to love me."

"Hurry inside, or you'll be late." Colin wanted to tease Emma a bit more because she was so adorable, but since it was almost time for class, he had to urge them to go into the school.

The three kids held hands as they walked in. On the way, they met Josie, and the four of them holding hands became a cool sight on campus.

In the classroom, with a few minutes left before class started, Emma pulled Josie aside to talk about the weekend at Celeste's house.

Sam quietly watched Emma, smiling along with her.

Ethan, however, seemed preoccupied.

Ethan pondered, 'Dad hasn't called us during his business trip. Usually, whenever Gabriel went on a business trip, he'd call or video chat. And last night, before bed, Mom seemed a bit off. Could it be they had another fight? Is Dad bullying Mom? Or...'

Ethan felt a sense of unease.

He had been keeping an eye on business trends and knew about the Lancaster Group's new product development and the whole dog-eat-dog fight between Micro Circuit Group and the Lancaster Group.

As the class bell rang, the other kids focused on their lessons, but Ethan was still pondering the issue.

At the top hospital in Country M, Gabriel woke up after two days. Harrison was by his side, and seeing him awake, he hurriedly asked.

"How are you feeling?"

Gabriel's mouth was dry, and his head hurt. Harrison called the doctor to check on him.

"He's out of danger," the doctor said before leaving.

Tiffany came in with some water and, seeing Gabriel sitting up, ran to his bedside in surprise.

"Gabriel, you're finally awake. I thought..." Tiffany choked up, "Thank goodness you're awake. The doctor said you'd be fine once you woke up."

Gabriel frowned slightly, his voice hoarse, "Why are you here?"

Tiffany stammered, "I..."

Gabriel looked at Harrison, who shrugged.

"She was already here when I arrived."
