Chapter 662 Heartache

"Seriously, do you think we're still living in the past? Nicholas doesn't give a damn about you. Nicholas and Caroline are the real deal. If you hadn't butted in, they'd have been living their happily-ever-after for years now." Paul couldn't stand Daisy.

Caroline just stood there, mouth open, feeling like she didn't need to lift a finger anymore.

Caroline slowly made her way towards Daisy.

"If it weren't for your mom, Mia, I wouldn't have been snatched by those traffickers, and this marriage wouldn't have fallen to you."

Caroline remembered everything—how Daisy had beaten her and plotted against her. Anger flared in Caroline's eyes.

"You didn't just steal my engagement; you took away the Wolfs' love for me too."

Caroline looked down on Daisy, closing the distance between them. Daisy's legs turned to jelly under Caroline's intense glare.

With Mia in prison and Michael running off with his mistress, the Caroline standing before her was Daniel and Linda's real daughter. Daisy had no fight left in her.

Daisy's hands clenched so tight her nails dug into her flesh, but it didn't calm her down. She was on the edge of losing it.

"Today, I'm taking back everything that's mine!"

Daisy stumbled and hit the ground.

Her face went pale, and panic flashed in her eyes.

She looked around at the people nearby.

Aragorn and Gummidge, who usually treated her the best, were silent. Even Daniel and Linda, who loved her the most, looked at her like she was a stranger. Nicholas was even colder, not giving her a second glance.

Daisy's heart sank.

She felt drained, sitting on the ground, hugging her knees, crying like she'd been wronged.

Caroline sneered, "Do you think crying is gonna cover up what you did to me?"

She squatted down, eyes sharp.

"Your mom's a criminal, your dad ran off with his mistress, your brother doesn't care about you, but my real brother will always be my brother."

"Do you think Aragorn will still protect you? The moment he knew I was the Wolfs' heir, he probably made his choice."

Every word Caroline said cut into Daisy's heart like a knife.

Daisy bit her lip so hard it bled, her whole body trembling from gripping her hands too tightly.

She couldn't accept it, feeling like she'd fallen from heaven to hell.

"The Wolfs won't have a place for you anymore. You won't be the heir to the Wolfs. The Watsons don't need you."

Caroline said these words to provoke Daisy, feeling a sense of relief.

Back then, Daisy had told her viciously that her child was dead, Nicholas didn't want her, and Nicholas despised her. Every word had broken her down completely.

Now, she was giving Daisy a taste of her own medicine, tearing down her defenses completely.

Daisy suddenly screamed, "Bitch! Caroline, go to hell!"

She reached out to grab Caroline's hair.

Caroline was ready, dodging swiftly and grabbing Daisy's hair in return.

She slapped Daisy twice.

Linda was about to step in and help Caroline, but Daniel stopped her.

"This is Caroline's fight," he said.

"Remember how you used to beat me like this?" Caroline said, slapping Daisy twice more. "I remember it clearly—twenty slaps in total."

"Bitch, go to hell!" Daisy fought back fiercely.

Caroline wasn't backing down, pinning Daisy's hands and slapping her again.

Daisy's face went numb from the slaps, and Caroline's hand hurt too, but she didn't care.

She still remembered how swollen her face had been back then.

"My hand was also broken, and it still hurts on rainy days," Caroline said coldly, staring at Daisy's hand.

Daisy shivered in fear, fighting back even harder.

"Let go of me, bitch! I'll fight you to the death."

Daisy's resistance made it tough for Caroline to handle.

Linda shook off Daniel's hand, rolling up her sleeves with red eyes.

Linda thought, 'My daughter was beaten like that and had her hand broken! I want Daisy dead!'

Linda stepped forward and slapped Daisy's face wildly.

Caroline held Daisy down, making it easy for Linda to hit her without holding back, each slap landing with full force.

Caroline was a bit stunned but quickly got back into it.

Linda and Caroline together taught Daisy a lesson.

Daisy's hair was pulled out in clumps, her clothes were torn, her cheeks were swollen, and there were deep scratches on her face.

Aragorn watched the scene without any intention of stopping it.

He was still in shock that Caroline was Daniel's daughter and had no mind to care about Daisy.

"Uncle Daniel, Uncle Aragorn, help! They're going to kill me, help!"

Daisy felt like she was going to die, but she didn't want to.

Daisy thought, 'I still have so much to do. I haven't been happy with Nicholas yet. I can't die!'

Daniel and Nicholas stepped forward.

Daniel pulled Linda away, while Nicholas grabbed Caroline's hand.

"Alright, don't hurt your hands," Daniel said to them.

"Does it hurt?" Nicholas asked Caroline with concern.

Caroline's hand stung.

She nodded slightly.

Nicholas felt even more distressed, gently stroking her palm.

Daisy watched this scene up close, and the last string in her heart snapped.

She stared at Nicholas and Caroline's hands clasped together with wide eyes.

She wanted to pull them apart, but she was too beat up. Every muscle ached, and she had no energy left.

She wanted to curse Caroline, but moving her mouth hurt so much she gasped.

Daniel turned to Aragorn.

"Whether you want to keep Daisy or kick her out, it's up to you. From now on, Caroline is the only daughter of the Wolfs, the one Linda and I will love with all our hearts."

His words carried a warning.

Aragorn used to look down on Caroline, but now the Watsons couldn't even reach her!

"We're leaving. Enjoy your meal." With that, Daniel held Linda's hand and looked at Caroline gently.

"Caroline, let's go out for a nice meal."

Caroline wasn't really there to dine; she was there for revenge.

Seeing Daisy now experiencing the pain she had once felt, Caroline felt much better.

She looked at Nicholas.

Nicholas said, "Wait for me."
