Chapter 483 Yell at Her
Daisy hadn't seen Nicholas in ages. She was staying at The Watson Mansion, where Aragorn and Gummidge pampered her, even hiring a nutritionist to plan her meals. She still went to her prenatal classes daily.
But unlike the other pregnant women with their husbands, she was alone.
Every time she got back from class, Daisy felt off.
She'd post another pregnancy update and remind Nicholas to check it.
Daisy opened Nicholas' Twitter—still nothing, just a blank page.
She checked their chat history. The last message from him was months ago. She'd sent him tons of messages, but he never replied.
Pregnancy made her emotions unstable, and Daisy felt more and more ignored by Nicholas. She thought about how he had publicly clarified their relationship and how Caroline was now with him.
Thinking about it all made Daisy angrier.
"Daisy, heading out?" Gummidge asked when he saw her with her bag.
"Yeah, got something to do."
"Let the driver take you."
Before he could finish, Daisy was already out the door.
She drove to the music academy. The security guard initially didn't let her in, but after a call, Clayton came out to get her.
"Daisy, why are you here?" Clayton looked worried.
"I came to see you," Daisy smiled.
"If you miss me, just call. I'll come to The Watson Mansion." Clayton was nervous seeing her big belly, afraid she might fall.
"I'm just bored at home. Show me around your campus."
"Okay."
Clayton supported Daisy as they walked, chatting.
"Is Caroline teaching here?" Daisy suddenly asked.
Clayton hesitated but answered, "Yes."
"Where is she?"
Was Daisy going to confront Caroline?
"Don't worry, I just want to talk. No conflict." Daisy needed to vent her anger.
"She's in class now."
"Take me to her classroom."
Clayton led Daisy to Caroline's classroom. Caroline was playing a piece on stage. She was tall, with half-tied hair, exuding elegance. The students were mesmerized.
When she finished, the students applauded.
Caroline smiled. "Today's homework is to practice this piece. I'll check it tomorrow."
The students groaned, "This piece is so hard."
Caroline still smiled gently. "Keep it up, everyone. I believe in you."
Everyone liked Caroline. Even students who didn't take violin classes loved her lectures.
It wasn't that her classes were exceptionally good, but she was beautiful and spoke gently, making her pleasant to watch.
After class, students crowded around Caroline with questions, and she patiently answered them all.
Daisy was getting impatient outside.
"Caroline," Daisy called out as she walked into the classroom.
The students parted, eyeing Daisy warily.
Caroline raised an eyebrow, her gaze landing on Daisy's belly. The last time they met, it wasn't so noticeable.
Caroline didn't want a conflict. What if something happened to Daisy and she got blamed?
"Let's talk," Daisy said, approaching Caroline like a wife confronting a mistress.
"Sorry, I don't have time."
"Is it that you don't have time, or you don't dare?" Daisy taunted.
"I don't think there's anything to talk about between us."
"If you don't want to talk outside, then let's talk here. I don't mind your students hearing." Daisy seemed ready to make a scene, and the curious students didn't leave. More even gathered.
Caroline frowned, worried Daisy might cause a scene and hurt the school's reputation.
"I'll go with you," she said.
Caroline packed her violin and followed Daisy and Clayton to the garden behind the teaching building. It was quiet, a good place to talk.
"What do you want to talk about?" Caroline stood six feet away from Daisy, ensuring she couldn't be falsely accused. She even stood where the surveillance cameras could see.
Seeing Caroline's caution, Daisy touched her belly. "Don't worry, even if I wanted to frame you, I wouldn't use my and Nicholas' child."
She showed a bit of happy shyness. "This is our first child. I will give birth to him safely."
Daisy took out her phone and opened her Twitter. "These are all the pregnancy updates Nicholas asked me to take. He's very busy and doesn't have time to be with me, so he asked me to record it this way. He checks them whenever he has time." Daisy flaunted her happiness, showing Caroline one update after another.
Afraid Caroline couldn't see, Daisy moved closer.
Caroline glanced briefly and then stepped back when Daisy approached. "Is this what you wanted to tell me?" she said coldly.
Daisy's expression suddenly changed. She looked at Caroline pleadingly. "Caroline, I'm begging you, can you give Nicholas back to me? My child and I can't live without him."
One moment Daisy was flaunting her happiness, the next she was crying and about to kneel, acting desperate.
Caroline quickly stepped aside, and Clayton immediately supported Daisy. "Daisy, why are you begging her? This woman has no heart."
Daisy pushed Clayton's hand away. "You're still young; you don't understand."
Clayton denied it. "I'm not young at all."
Daisy used to be so proud, always admired and sought after. Now she was so humble, even willing to kneel to Caroline. Clayton's anger surged.
He shouted at Caroline, "Daisy is begging you like this, what more do you want!"
Clayton's loud voice made Caroline's heart tremble. She felt inexplicably wronged.
Why was he shouting at her? She hadn't done anything, so why was everyone blaming her?
Caroline's eyes instantly reddened. She didn't want to feel wronged, but she couldn't help it. Even her nose felt a bit sour.
She just felt Clayton shouldn't shout at her.
