Chapter 389 Feeling Heartbroken
Daniel was quite moved. He waited until Caroline had calmed down a bit before continuing.
"Ms. Clark, I don't know why you abandoned Josie back then, but now that you've come to your senses, spend some time with her. We'll discuss everything else when Nicholas returns."
Caroline wiped her tears and said, "Thank you."
"Josie, let's go." Emma came over and took Josie's hand.
Josie was still a bit anxious, but when Emma came over, she suddenly felt at ease.
Josie turned to look at Daisy. Daisy's eyes were filled with gloom, but she kept her head down, so no one else noticed.
Josie shivered a bit, and Emma immediately sensed it.
"Josie, don't be afraid. You have your mom to protect you now, and I will protect you, too," Emma whispered in Josie's ear.
Josie was instantly filled with courage and looked at Daniel.
Daniel looked at her lovingly.
"Go ahead."
Caroline sat in a wheelchair, unable to move due to her back injury. Sophia was pushing her, but it strained her own shoulder injury, so Gabriel quickly called a bodyguard to take over.
Emma held Josie's hand and followed behind.
With Gabriel's bodyguards around, no one dared to stop them.
A few minutes later, a security guard ran in.
"Mr. Watson, they're all beaten up and can't get up."
He was referring to the security guards.
Gabriel wouldn't let anyone who dared to harm Sophia off easily; this was just a small lesson for Aragorn.
Aragorn was so furious that he started trembling, his chest hurting badly. He almost fainted, but the security guard caught him just in time.
Gummidge quickly took out some medicine from her bag and gave a few pills to Aragorn.
Daisy, with impeccable timing, brought over a glass of water.
After a while, Aragorn recovered.
Daniel walked over, frowning.
"If this wedding can't go on, let's just end it."
"It can't end."
The one who objected was Daisy.
Daisy hated Caroline. Caroline had caused a scene at her wedding, making her a laughingstock.
If the wedding ended halfway, how could Daisy stay in this city?
Moreover, this wedding was of great significance to Daisy.
Only by completing the wedding would she be Nicholas' rightful wife.
Daisy looked at Daniel pleadingly.
"Uncle Daniel, I've already lost Josie. I can't lose Nicholas, too."
Daniel looked at Michael. "What do you think?"
After all, Michael was Daisy's father.
Michael looked helpless. "Daisy is the only daughter in the Wolf family. I want her to be happy, too."
"Alright, do as you wish."
Daniel angrily returned to his seat.
Aragorn announced, "The wedding continues!"
Paul quietly walked over.
"Aunt Gummidge, where is Nicholas now?"
None of his messages to Nicholas had been answered, which was very unusual.
Thinking of Nicholas, Gummidge looked worried, her eyes slightly red.
"Nicholas is abroad, he..."
Gummidge choked up.
"What happened to him?"
"He's in a coma."
"What?"
Paul could only think, 'Damn it!'
'Nicholas is in a coma, but Daisy is holding a wedding here!'
'Not a single person is by Nicholas' side.'
Paul felt a deep sorrow for Nicholas.
Paul had never liked Aragorn, who was even more heartless than his father!
Paul suddenly felt very sympathetic towards Nicholas. Aragorn was domineering and only cared about benefits, never considering Nicholas' wishes, while Gummidge was too weak to help Nicholas.
Although Paul's mother, Ashley, was also strong-willed, she always protected him. Whenever his father scolded or forced him to do something, she always stood by his side.
Gummidge wiped her tears.
"Paul, you should go check on Nicholas."
"Don't worry. I'll book a flight right away."
While the wedding continued, Paul left through a side door.
In the extended luxury car, Josie snuggled up to Caroline, who gently held her. Caroline had many things to say to Josie but found herself speechless.
Gabriel took out a knife.
Sophia looked at him, puzzled.
He explained, "I found this on one of the security guards."
Caroline froze.
Sophia's expression also changed.
In broad daylight, they intended to kill!
"Ordinary security guards don't carry knives. Clearly, someone wanted to take advantage of the situation," Gabriel analyzed, "This probably wasn't arranged by Aragorn."
"Aragorn is opportunistic and insidious. He wouldn't act during the wedding; he'd do it secretly."
Sophia frowned.
Gabriel looked at Caroline and warned her, "Be careful around Aragorn in the future. Try not to have any conflicts with him."
Caroline, being an orphan, couldn't afford to clash with the Watson family.
"Okay, thank you."
If it weren't for Gabriel today, she and Sophia might have died.
Caroline suddenly remembered something.
"Sophie, your injury."
If Sophia hadn't shielded her, she would have been hurt by now.
"Mommy's hurt?" Ethan worriedly grabbed Sophia's hand.
Emma and Sam also looked over with concern.
Sophia smiled and said, "It's nothing. It doesn't hurt."
Ethan was still worried, so Sophia hugged him, enduring the pain in her back and pretending to be fine.
"Sweetheart, I'm really okay."
Emma said, "I'm Mommy's sweetheart."
Sam gestured, "I'm Mommy's sweetheart, too."
Caroline and Josie watched them, and she gently squeezed Josie's little hand. Josie leaned closer to her.
The tense atmosphere suddenly turned relaxed.
At the hospital, the doctor examined Caroline.
"The brace has shifted a bit, but it's been adjusted. You must stay in the hospital and rest for the next few days."
"Thank you, doctor." Sophia saw the doctor out.
Josie sat by the bed, holding Caroline's hand.
The three little ones were also by her side.
Gabriel suddenly grabbed Sophia's hand. Before she could react, he pulled her out of the room.
"What are you doing?" Sophia asked, puzzled.
Gabriel said nothing but just kept pulling her along.
Hearing Sophia cry out in pain, Gabriel stopped abruptly, causing her to almost bump into him.
Gabriel frowned and then picked her up horizontally. The sudden move startled Sophia, and she struggled a bit.
"Gabriel, what are you doing? Put me down."
Gabriel was a bit angry and said, "Isn't it painful enough?"
Sophia immediately stopped moving.
