Chapter 384 In Crisis
Josie was really scared and thought, 'Would Caroline never wake up again?'
When Daisy was watching TV, Josie occasionally saw someone lying in a hospital bed on TV, and they suddenly never woke up.
Josie saw the needle in Caroline's hand and carefully touched the hand with the needle.
"Ms. Clark, you have to wake up." Josie couldn't help but cry.
Sophia came over, feeling very distressed as well.
"She will wake up. Josie, don't worry."
"Why are you calling her Ms. Clark, Josie? You should call her Mom. Call Caroline a few more times." Paul thought Josie wasn't calling out enough.
Josie thought, 'As Emma had said, if I consider Caroline as my mom, it could comfort Caroline. Would calling Caroline "Mom" wake her up?'
If that was the case, she was willing to do it.
"Mom," Josie called softly.
"Say it louder so that she can hear you," Paul said.
"Mom," Josie called out louder.
"Keep going, Josie. Say, 'Mom, I miss you,'" Paul instructed.
"Mom, I miss you," Josie repeated.
Paul said a sentence, and Josie repeated it.
"Mom, it's Josie. I'm your daughter. Don't you want me anymore?"
Tears slid down from the corners of Caroline's eyes.
Josie saw it.
"Mom is crying!"
She instinctively reached out to wipe Caroline's tears.
Paul's phone rang, breaking the touching atmosphere.
He frowned and took out his phone, seeing it was Aragorn calling, and immediately hung up.
Ethan, Emma, and Sam were brought to the hospital by David after school.
Seeing Josie there, Emma was very happy.
Finally, Paul did something right.
The four children gathered around Caroline, talking to her.
However, after Caroline's tearful reaction, there were no other responses.
After the doctor checked, Caroline was still the same.
The doctor only said that Caroline might have heard them, which was why she cried.
It was getting late. Lisa came to take over watching Caroline, and Sophia took the three children home. Paul also carried Josie to take her back.
Seeing Josie, whose eyes were red and swollen from crying in Paul's arms, Sophia made a decision in her heart.
No matter what, she had to wake Caroline up!
After Sophia went back, she made dinner for the children and then called Jennifer.
It was her first time asking Jennifer for help.
Jennifer agreed immediately after hearing Sophia's request.
"No problem. You can go ahead with the procedures. Once Caroline gets here, I'll take care of her personally."
"Thank you, Jennifer."
"Silly child, don't be so polite with me."
Sophia smiled.
She had no other way. Gabriel wouldn't agree to her taking the children abroad, so she could only ask Jennifer to look after Caroline. She would visit Caroline from time to time.
Paul took Josie home, and Aragorn had a stern face.
"Josie, are you okay?" Daisy asked worriedly, rushing over.
Paul rolled his eyes and said. "I'm not going to bully Josie."
Daisy was left speechless by his retort.
Aragorn glared at Paul. "You took Josie out without saying a word. What if you scared her?"
"I didn't take her out without saying anything. I told Daisy."
Daisy was speechless.
Paul did mention it, but he didn't get her consent.
Daisy wanted to argue back several times, but Paul didn't give her the chance.
Paul stretched.
"I'm tired and hungry. Is there anything to eat?"
"I'll have someone make something for you," Gummidge said, pulling Paul to sit down. "You can sleep here tonight."
"You're the best," Paul said, leaning affectionately on Gummidge's shoulder.
Ten minutes later, Paul was eating in the dining room, and Daisy asked worriedly, "Is Nicholas coming back tomorrow?"
The day after tomorrow was the wedding.
If Nicholas didn't come back tomorrow, could he make it to the wedding the day after?
Daisy felt uneasy. She had been so worried these past few days that she had nightmares at night.
But thinking about that night when she and Nicholas had already had sex, she felt it was all worth it.
Aragorn said gently, "He will definitely come back tomorrow.Don't worry."
Daisy said, "Then I'll go back to the Wolf family first thing in the morning."
She was supposed to leave from the Wolf family on her wedding day. She should have gone back today, but she was worried when Paul took Josie out.
Now, she had to rely on Josie to tie Nicholas down and couldn't let Paul ruin it.
Meanwhile, Nicholas and Blake came out of the lab. Blake was holding a bag of pills, looking excited.
"Nicholas, you're amazing. I've been working on this problem for a long time, but you solved it in just two days."
Sharpe walked over. "Mr. Waston, Mr. Aragorn Waston called to ask when you'll be back."
"Go buy some gifts for Josie," Nicholas said, not answering the question directly.
The matters here were temporarily resolved, and it was about time for them to go back.
Sharpe understood that buying gifts meant they were going back soon.
Just as Sharpe was about to push Nicholas to leave, Nicholas suddenly straightened up, and the next moment, he closed his eyes and fainted.
"Mr. Waston!" Sharpe called out a few times.
Blake quickly ran over, but no emergency measures worked on Nicholas.
"Get him to the hospital."
An hour later, Blake looked at the CT scan, frowning and speaking seriously, "This is a sequela from the car accident."
Nicholas' car accident back then was quite severe. Not only did he break his leg, but he also suffered a head injury.
Blake said, "It wasn't very serious initially. Did he take any medication recently?"
Sharpe remembered the night before they went abroad when Nicholas was set up by Daisy. Could it be that the medication caused the sequela to flare up suddenly?
Nicholas suddenly fainted, and it was uncertain when he would wake up.
When Aragorn called again, Sharpe told him.
"Nicholas suddenly fainted."
Aragorn's anxious voice came through. "How did he suddenly faint?"
"The doctor said it's a sequela from the car accident."
"When will he wake up?"
"Not sure yet."
Aragorn fell silent, thinking about many things at that moment.
'Nicholas' fainting could be a big or small issue. If he wakes up soon, it will be a small matter. If he doesn't wake up, it will be a big problem!'
'With the wedding day approaching, Nicholas' fainting now means he won't make it to the wedding.'
'Should the wedding be postponed?'
'No, the wedding couldn't be postponed!'
The Watson Group's new Alzheimer's drug was about to succeed, and its stock had recently hit new highs. If the wedding were postponed, many people would dig for the reason.
If news of Nicholas' coma got out, Aragorn was worried that the Watson Group would face a crisis like it did back then.
But if the wedding went on as planned, Daisy would become part of the Watson family, binding the Wolf family and the Watson family together.
