Chapter 641 Was It You Who Saved Me?
The chip material issue? Pretty much sorted. Alex came in to report, still sporting some bruises on his face.
After wrapping up his report, Alex paused and said, "Miss Foster's been showing up at the office every day for the past two days, but security and the receptionist keep turning her away."
Gabriel just nodded, "Yeah, just ignore her."
What Tiffany did wasn't enough to keep her locked up in Country M's police station forever. He figured she'd get deported.
Tiffany didn't think Gabriel would abandon her, nor did she believe he was the one who got her into this mess.
She needed to talk to him face-to-face.
But every place she thought Gabriel might be, she got blocked.
So, Tiffany stubbornly camped out in the company lobby all day, hoping to catch him.
Employees passing by saw Tiffany and started whispering.
Some familiar faces came up to her, trying to get the scoop. Tiffany said, "Gabriel got hurt in Country M, really bad. My assistant and I saved him and took him to the hospital, but I did something that pissed him off, and now he won't see me."
She sounded pretty upset.
The employees listened, picked up a few key details, and then pretended to comfort her, "Don't worry, Mr. Lancaster will definitely see you."
"Yeah, I'll wait here for him. I'm not leaving until I talk to him."
They comforted her a bit more and then left.
Soon, different versions of the story started spreading around the company.
Some said Tiffany betrayed Gabriel, and after breaking up with her, Gabriel cut off all contact and secretly remarried Sophia to raise their kid together.
Others said Tiffany saved Gabriel, but he wouldn't forgive her because of the breakup.
Some even said Gabriel got hurt because of Tiffany.
As long as Tiffany was around, the company gossip was nonstop, and rumors spread like wildfire.
These rumors quickly reached Harrison.
Harrison rushed to Gabriel's office, recounting the stories with a smirk.
"Gabriel, Tiffany did save you after all. If you leave her hanging like this and she starts spreading rumors, it won't be good for your rep."
Gabriel's face was cold and stern.
"So, they have plenty of time to gossip at work, huh? Maybe we should do some layoffs to cut labor costs."
Harrison smacked his lips, "Nah, they're just having some fun during downtime. Tiffany's your ex, people are curious. Taking away their right to be curious doesn't make you a good boss."
Gabriel shot him a look.
Harrison chuckled, "I think you should meet with Tiffany, clear things up, and maybe give her something to keep her from bothering you."
Gabriel said nothing and went back to his documents.
Feeling bored, Harrison took the signed document and left.
At the Lancaster Manor, Sophia was home today. The kids were at school, and she suddenly had nothing to do.
She wanted to hang out with Caroline, but Caroline had to work.
Sophia sniffled; she had caught a cold the day after returning and was only feeling better today.
Betty came over with a thermos.
Ruth said, "Sophia, this is some nutritious soup for Gabriel. Can you take it to him?"
"Where's James?" Sophia asked.
"James went out on an errand. You don't want to go? Then forget it." Ruth sighed, "Who knows when Gabriel's injury will heal."
Sophia sighed too and said, "Alright, I'll take it, Grandma."
Ruth's face lit up with joy.
"Hold on a sec, let the maid pack some food for you. You can have lunch with Gabriel at the office; otherwise, it'll be cold by the time you get back."
"Okay."
Betty headed back to the kitchen and, with the maid's help, packed two more meals.
Sophia grabbed the three thermoses and drove to the Lancaster Group.
It was lunchtime, so the place was pretty empty. Sophia used her company ID to go straight from the underground parking lot to the executive office.
The office area was super quiet, hardly anyone around. The main lights were off, just a few small lamps on.
Sophia walked confidently towards the CEO's office.
As she got to the door, she suddenly heard Tiffany's voice.
Sophia stopped in her tracks and listened closely.
"Gabriel, I was really wrong. I was just confused for a moment. I love you so much, that's why I did what I did." Tiffany was crying, sounding really pitiful.
Sophia confirmed Tiffany was inside and didn't feel like going in anymore.
She was about to put the thermos on the ground and leave.
"You're so heartless, Gabriel. You said you would marry me, but now you want to cut all ties with me."
"When I saved you, we had such a wonderful time in the hospital. Have you forgotten all that?"
Sophia paused, still listening to the conversation inside.
In the office, Gabriel sat in his chair, hands folded on the desk, frowning, staring off into space.
Tiffany, tears streaming down her face, bit her lip, looking really pitiful.
"Back then, you were injured and couldn't see clearly. I acted as your eyes, taking care of you. You always teased me, and I still wear this button every day, Gabriel. I miss those times."
Gabriel remembered those times; they were indeed wonderful, but that happiness never came back after he found Tiffany later.
"Gabriel, you once said I was your savior, and no matter what happened, you wouldn't abandon me."
"For saving you, Gabriel, can you love me one more time?"
Tiffany stepped closer to Gabriel, looking at him deeply, hoping to touch his heart.
She was wearing a sheer white shirt, slightly see-through, showing the clothes underneath. She subtly lifted her chest.
She didn't believe Gabriel wouldn't be moved by this.
Tiffany knew Gabriel's strange illness was cured, and he could be intimate with Sophia.
Tiffany thought, 'Why couldn't he touch me? Today, I'm determined to win Gabriel over!'
Gabriel remained expressionless.
He knew he hadn't fully repaid Tiffany for saving his life, but he thought he had done enough.
Gabriel thought, 'There's no way I could have any more relationship with Tiffany; otherwise, how could I face Sophia?'
The door suddenly opened from the outside. Sophia, also dressed in a white shirt and black skirt, looked professional and commanding.
"Did you save Gabriel?" Sophia asked in a deep voice.
Tiffany's body stiffened, and she panicked inside.
She was the first to snap, "Hey, you didn't even knock. No manners!"
"I think the one with no manners is you." Sophia looked Tiffany up and down with disgust. "You might as well not wear anything."
Tiffany's face turned red with anger. "You!"
She hurriedly covered her chest.
