Chapter 190 Madam Fainted

The school bus was about to arrive, and Sophia hurriedly took the two children downstairs, handing each a bottle of milk. Just as they reached the door, the school bus pulled up. She rushed the two children onto the bus.
Not far away, Madam Lancaster saw everything clearly. The woman appearing with the two children was indeed Sophia!
"Sophia... it's really Sophia." Madam Lancaster laughed as tears nearly sprang from her eyes. She was eager to run over to meet Sophia, but suddenly her vision went black, and she completely lost consciousness.
"Madam!" Betty rushed over with a cry, just in time to catch Madam Lancaster's head and prevent it from hitting the ground.
"Simon, come quickly!" Betty shouted.
Simon quickly ran over, picked up Madam Lancaster, and rushed her to the hospital.
As the school bus slowly drove away, Sophia glanced in that direction and saw a small car hurriedly leaving.
Had she misheard just now?
She thought she heard someone calling "Madam," and also "Simon."
It shouldn't be possible for Madam Lancaster and Simon, the driver of the Lancaster family, to appear here. That small car was very ordinary. Madam Lancaster wouldn't travel in such a car.
Sophia thought about the clothes she was making for Madam, which were almost ready. She could also make some cakes and pastries to bring to Madam for a taste.
Her cooking skills had improved a lot compared to before.
This time, she had to coax Madam well and make her happy.
Across the city, Madam was sent to a nearby hospital and taken into the emergency room. Betty was in a panic, but Simon kept his cool and immediately called Gabriel.
Gabriel rushed over in a hurry. He was still in his sportswear, and his face was gloomy. "What happened?" He asked.
Wasn't Grandma resting at home? Why would she faint on the street?
Damn it, no one told him that Grandma had gone out!
At this point, Betty didn't dare to hide anything.
"Madam found out that the young lady might still be alive. She got up early today to find the young lady. But before she could speak to the young lady, Madam fainted."
Sophia?
Gabriel's face darkened even more. He suddenly remembered that he had never told Grandma that Sophia was still alive.
At first, he thought it wasn't necessary. If Sophia wanted to, she would naturally go to see Grandma and explain to her about her fake death.
But Sophia never went. He was busy with work all day and focused on Sam, neglecting Grandma a lot.
Gabriel scratched his hair in self-blame, took out his phone, and called Sophia.
If anything happened to Grandma today, he would never forgive himself.
Gabriel leaned against the wall. Betty didn't dare to say anything more and just sat there anxiously. Simon was also very worried and wouldn't say anything at this time.
Time passed but the light in the operating room was always on. In the middle, a nurse came out and had Gabriel sign two forms, one of which was a critical illness notice.
Sophia ran into the hospital. When she reached the door of the operating room, her legs went soft and she almost fell, but Gabriel caught her in time.
Sophia grabbed Gabriel's arm and asked anxiously, "How is Grandma? Why did she suddenly faint? Is she okay now?"
"She's still in the operating room; you sit down first." Gabriel was also anxious in his heart, but he looked calm. He helped Sophia sit down on the chair.
Right now, Sophia was full of concern for Madam Lancaster and had no time to resent Gabriel's touch.
She stared intently at the red light that read "In Surgery."
"I'm sorry, Grandma. I shouldn't have lied to you. I should have told you right away that I didn't die, that I'm fine."
Grandma, you must get better, wait for me to cheer you up.
The "In Surgery" light finally went out, and the doctor came out, exhaling a sigh of relief.
"The surgery was successful, but Madam Lancaster's condition is not optimistic. She has been ill for too long. This time we have stabilized her, but next time it's hard to say. Also, she will need a second surgery. The specifics will be determined after a few days of observation."
Madam Lancaster was taken to the ward, and Sophia followed the nurse all the way, watching Madam's pale face as her tears fell.
Gabriel instructed Simon to handle the hospitalization procedures and asked Betty to go home to pack some things. He made a call to the best medical team in B City outside the ward. After finalizing the arrangements, he came in and saw Sophia sitting by Madam's bedside.
"Grandma, I'm sorry." Sophia held Madam's hand, apologizing over and over.
Seeing her sobbing, Gabriel couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy. He stepped in and comforted her, "Grandma has always loved you. She definitely won't blame you."
Sophia wiped her tears and tucked Madam's hand into the blanket.
She remembered the two voices she heard when she sent Ethan and Emma to the school bus. Could it be that at that time...
"Where did g=Grandma faint?" She asked.
Gabriel looked at her cold demeanor, averted his gaze, and said lightly, "She didn't know you were still alive. She found some clues and fainted while trying to find you."
Sure enough, Madam was right there at that time!
"You didn't tell Grandma?" Sophia asked.
Gabriel touched his nose. Somehow, being questioned by her like this, he felt a bit guilty.
"No."
Sophia fell silent.
Then everything made sense. The person who went to the hospital to inquire about her childbirth situation back then might have been Madam.
"I'll stay here to take care of things. If you have something to do, go ahead." Gabriel said, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
Given Grandma's current condition, he definitely couldn't leave the hospital today. The medical team would arrive later to discuss Madam's surgical plan.
"I don't have anything to do. I want to wait for Grandma to wake up."
She had been back in the country for so long, and Grandma had been unaware all this time. This couldn't entirely be blamed on Gabriel. She was also at fault for not explaining the situation to Grandma at the first opportunity.
So today, she had to wait for Grandma to wake up. She wanted to let Grandma see her clearly and tell Grandma that she was wrong as soon as possible.
The two of them stayed in the ward, silent. As time passed, it became a bit awkward.
Fortunately, Simon came back soon, and Betty also brought some things over.
Seeing Sophia again, both Betty and Simon were filled with emotion.
"Ms. Kelly, I didn't expect you to be really alive. This is truly a blessing. Madam has been looking forward to it." Betty chatted warmly with Sophia.
Betty had been kind to her, just like Madam, in the past. Sophia gave a bitter smile, "I made Grandma worry."
With Betty chatting with Sophia in the ward, the atmosphere became less oppressive.
Madam woke up quickly. After a little more than two hours, she opened her eyes. She saw a silhouette that looked like Sophia, reached out to Sophia, opened her mouth, and after a moment, she called out a name, "Sophia."
Sophia held Madam's hand.
"Grandma, it's me."
