Chapter 399 Daddy, Your Ex-Girlfriend Bullied Me

Ethan and Emma used to wear masks, but this time, they strolled in without a care.

"Ma'am, where's my daddy?" Emma asked a secretary, her voice sweet as sugar.

Everyone melted at the sound of Emma's voice.

The secretary smiled and asked, "Who's your daddy?"

"My daddy's name is Jerk," Emma blurted out, then quickly corrected herself, "I mean, Gabriel. Can you tell me where he is?"

'Jerk?' The secretary was taken aback but quickly composed herself. "Your daddy's in a meeting. Why don't you sit over there and wait? I'll get you something to eat."

"OK, thank you."

The three kids headed to the reception room.

"Quick, bring out all the snacks you have," the secretary said, rallying the team to share their hidden treats.

Surprisingly, no one objected.

Ten minutes later, everyone was in the reception room, listening to Emma's stories.

"Just like that, Ethan and I lived with Mommy for five years before Daddy acknowledged us."

The secretaries whispered in amazement, realizing the TV show plot was true.

"Who's your mommy?" someone asked.

Emma blinked, sensing they were fishing for info.

"My mommy's a beautiful goddess."

Everyone laughed.

"What are you all doing here?" A stern voice startled everyone.

Gabriel, followed by Alex, had just returned from a meeting and saw the empty secretarial department, with everyone gathered in the reception room.

Alex shouted, and everyone quickly scattered.

They didn't want Gabriel to find out.

Soon, only the three kids were left in the reception room.

"Daddy!" Emma rushed over.

Gabriel caught her and picked her up.

"Daddy, Ethan, Sam, and I were bullied."

A secretary overheard and panicked. They hadn't bullied Emma!

"Who bullied you?" Gabriel's expression turned icy, and the office temperature seemed to drop.

"Your ex-girlfriend!"

Gabriel shot a cold glare at Alex.

Alex quickly stifled his laughter and got back to work.

Gabriel carried Emma into the office, with Ethan and Sam trailing behind.

As soon as he left, the secretaries opened their group chat, and soon, the news that Gabriel was a jerk spread through the company like wildfire.

In the CEO's office, Emma was fiercely badmouthing Tiffany to Gabriel.

"She bullied Sam. We don't like her, and Daddy, you can't like her either."

Gabriel held the adorable Emma and replied, "OK, I won't like her."

"If you still want her to be Sam's stepmom, Ethan and I will take Sam and live with Mommy, and we won't talk to you anymore." Emma pouted, looking both fierce and cute.

"OK, I promise I won't find you a stepmom."

Only then was Emma satisfied, holding Gabriel's handsome face and kissing him.

"Let David take you around the company, and I'll take you out for a nice lunch."

"What about Mommy?"

"Your mommy will come, too."

As the three kids roamed the company, everyone watched them with curiosity.

Word had already spread that Gabriel had two kids who looked just like him, born to his ex-wife, and that Gabriel was a total jerk who had wronged her.

No one expected the usually aloof Gabriel to be such a douchebag!

Many women in the company were heartbroken.

Some even started cursing him in private.

In the group chat, two factions clashed: one side called Gabriel a douchebag, while the other side, smitten by his looks, defended him.

The two factions almost came to blows.

Alex, lurking in the group, watched the whole thing unfold.

He was torn about whether to tell Gabriel that he was now officially a douchebag in the employees' eyes.

The three kids didn't find Sophia because she was out rehearsing for a fashion show and couldn't come back even for lunch.

Emma sighed, "Mommy works so hard."

At the hospital, Josie pushed open the door and went in.

Caroline was eating the lunch bought by the caregiver. Hearing the door open, she turned her head and widened her eyes in surprise.

"Josie."

Josie ran over and threw herself at the bedside.

"Mommy." Josie looked up, her little face flushed, and her smile was so happy and content.

"Josie, why are you here?" Caroline immediately put down her lunch box and touched Josie's fluffy head.

"Daddy brought me."

'Nicholas is actually willing to bring Josie to see me?' Caroline thought.

Caroline was a bit surprised but mostly overjoyed to see Josie.

These past few days, she had been thinking about Josie day and night, worried that Josie would be troubled by Daisy after being taken back to the Watson family.

Seeing the smile on Josie's face now, she felt relieved.

"Josie, have you eaten?"

"Yes. Mommy, you should eat your lunch," Josie urged her warmly.

Caroline felt very touched.

"Mommy, I learned that piece of music," Josie said proudly.

"Great, then play the violin for me?"

"OK."

Josie had brought her violin. She took it out and started playing the difficult piece with great skill.

Nicholas didn't enter the ward; he stayed at the door, faintly hearing Caroline and Josie's laughter, followed by the sound of the violin.

His expression turned serious.

This piece was the first one he and Caroline had composed together!

Nicholas turned his wheelchair and saw through the door crack that it was Josie playing the violin.

He hadn't expected Caroline to teach Josie the piece they had composed together.

A sudden wave of emotion appeared in his calm eyes.

Whether it was six years ago or six years later, Caroline could always easily move his heart.

"Josie, you were amazing." Caroline kept praising Josie, making her blush.

For a beginner, this piece was quite challenging, and Josie had learned it so quickly. Caroline couldn't be more pleased.

Josie had more talent for the violin than she did.

She believed that with proper training, Josie would achieve even greater heights!

"Josie, I promised that if you learned this piece, I would grant you a wish. So, what do you want?" Caroline held Josie's little hand and gently squeezed her palm.
