Chapter 552 Shattered to Pieces

Today's sunshine was just right. Caroline and Sophia were chilling in the yard, soaking up the rays while the kids messed around with the dog nearby.

Caroline let out a sigh, "Man, who would've thought my bestie would end up as some rich heir?"

She took a big gulp of her juice. "If only I was too, then no one would mess with me."

Sophia asked, "The school still hasn't sorted it out?"

Caroline shook her head. "Nah, but at least the gossip's been shut down."

The next day, Nicholas wiped those trending topics and dealt with the annoying marketing accounts, but the school still hadn't said a word.

With the new semester coming up, Caroline felt kinda lost.

"Need my help?" Sophia offered.

She didn't know much about the Blackwoods before, just that they were loaded. Celeste and Jennifer ran Fusion Dynamics Corporation, and David was in charge of the Blackwood Group. Both companies were big shots globally.

David even made it into the top ten richest people in the world.

But that was just scratching the surface; the real power was in the Blackwoods' connections!

If Caroline needed it, Sophia was ready to ask Celeste and David for a hand.

Caroline said, "It's cool, it's just some school procedure after a complaint. I should be back by the start of the semester."

At first, she freaked out, scared of losing her hard-earned job.

Later, she realized those complaints had no proof, and the school only suspended her temporarily because of public pressure.

Now that the gossip was shut down, Melissa had given her a clear answer.

After hearing Caroline's explanation, Sophia felt relieved.

Sophia and Caroline kept chatting while soaking up the sun.

Aragorn had named Daisy's kid after Trevor Watson.

Just hearing the name, you could tell Aragorn had big plans for Trevor, grooming him as the future heir of the Watson Group.

Both Daisy and Mia were happy with the name.

"Now that you've given the Watsons a kid, they should treat you even better. In the future, everything in the Watsons will be yours and Trevor's," Mia said while playing with Trevor.

Daisy lay in bed, looking much better after days of rest.

Though Trevor was born early, after a week in the incubator, he was now like a normal baby, just a bit small.

As the first boy in the Watsons, Gummidge was there every day, taking turns with the nanny to care for Trevor.

When Mia showed up, Daisy made an excuse to send Gummidge away.

They talked about a lot of stuff.

Gummidge came back with some things and bumped into Aragorn.

"How's Trevor today?" Aragorn's eyes softened at the mention of Trevor.

"Trevor's super chill, eats a lot, and doesn't fuss," Gummidge replied with a smile.

When Josie was born, Aragorn was really sick, and Gummidge had to take care of him, so she didn't get to hold Josie much and didn't feel much joy as a grandma.

Now, personally taking care of Trevor, she finally felt the joy of being a grandma.

As they got closer to Daisy's room, Aragorn suddenly stopped.

"Have you contacted Nicholas?" he asked out of the blue.

Gummidge replied, "No."

Aragorn snorted, clearly pissed. No way Nicholas didn't know Daisy had given birth.

But Nicholas just wouldn't show up for Daisy and Trevor.

When Aragorn walked in, Daisy and Mia's chat came to a screeching halt.

He hung around for half an hour, then bounced and had the driver take him straight to the Watson Group.

After Nicholas wrapped up his meeting, his secretary came over.

"Mr. Nicholas Watson, Mr. Aragorn Watson is waiting for you in your office."

Nicholas nodded, "Got it."

He turned slightly and asked Sharpe, "How's Daisy doing?"

"The baby's out of the incubator, and Daisy's at a recovery facility. The baby's with her."

"Okay."

Sharpe wheeled Nicholas into the office, where Aragorn was sitting in Nicholas's chair, giving him a hard stare.

"Daisy gave you a son, Nicholas. If you have any sense of responsibility, you should go see her and Trevor," Aragorn said bluntly.

Nicholas replied coolly, "Her kid's got nothing to do with me."

Aragorn slammed his hand on the desk, his face twisted with anger. "How did our Watsons end up with a jerk like you!"

Nicholas said casually, "I can stop being a Watson, so there won't be any jerks among the Watson descendants."

His tone was calm, but his words hit hard.

Aragorn was so mad he looked like he was gonna blow a fuse.

Nicholas and Aragorn stared each other down, neither budging.

Finally, Nicholas broke the silence.

"I never had a thing with Daisy. If you don't believe me, I can do a paternity test with the kid."

Aragorn got even more furious.

"You jerk, do you know that doing that is an insult to the Wolfs!"

This was questioning Daisy's loyalty to Nicholas!

Nicholas and Aragorn fell silent again.

But this time, Aragorn was the first to soften.

His eyes flickered as he walked over to Nicholas.

"Nicholas," he said gently, looking at Nicholas's cold profile. "If you're willing to come home and live a good life with Daisy, I can..."

"I can accept Josie back into the family. Josie will still be my granddaughter, and Daisy will treat Josie as her own kid."

"Wouldn't it be great for your family to live happily together?"

Aragorn tried to persuade him. He had never spoken so kindly to Nicholas before; this was a first, and he thought his attitude was good enough.

Nicholas smiled.

He didn't want to talk to Aragorn any further and directly instructed Sharpe, "Sharpe, see him out."

Aragorn said, "You..."

Sharpe stepped forward.

"Mr. Aragorn Watson, Mr. Nicholas Watson has a very important meeting coming up. Please leave."

Aragorn angrily swept a photo frame off the desk.

The frame shattered on the floor.

Aragorn stormed out.

Nicholas looked at the broken pieces on the floor and the photo of him with Caroline and Josie.

Paul had taken this candid shot and sent it to him. He had just placed it on his desk today, and within a day, it was smashed.

Anger flickered in Nicholas's eyes.

Sharpe could clearly feel the temperature drop around them and shivered.

The next second, Nicholas said in a deep voice, "Prepare the car, we're going to the recovery facility!"

Sharpe straightened up. "Yes, sir!"

Caroline stood outside the recovery facility, glanced at the entrance, and then walked in.

For Melissa's sake, she had to come and find Daisy.

Just this morning, something had happened to Melissa.
