Chapter 36 Becoming a Gun
"Thank you, I also have nothing to do." Sophia smiled lightly and got up to make copies, acting as if she was new and would definitely go along with everything.
As she turned around, a glimmer of cunning flashed in her eyes.
Half an hour later, Fiona stormed over, threw a stack of documents at Sophia, narrowly missing her thanks to her agility.
Still shaken, Sophia patted her chest and said, "Designer Fang, are you trying to hit me? Don't you know that fighting is not allowed in the company? You can get fired and never hired again."
Fiona's chest heaved with anger, her face contorted.
"Sophia, you did it on purpose! Look at the copies you made, you used the side with text on it, who can read that?"
Surprised, Sophia picked up a few pieces of paper. "Did I make a mistake? I saw that you were in a hurry, so I made the copies and sent them to the meeting room without realizing I copied them incorrectly."
True, she did it on purpose. Had she formed a close relationship with Miss Foster? Did she order her around? Fiona had picked the wrong person to bully, as Sophia had never been one to yield.
If Fiona had been a bit more polite, Sophia would have helped with the copies.
Looking at Sophia's innocent appearance, Fiona wanted to slap her, shattering that innocent face.
But she restrained herself. It didn't matter. Revenge would come in due time. She would show Sophia how formidable she, Fiona, truly was.
"You can't even do such a simple task. I don't understand how you even got in here. Can your design drafts even be seen by anyone? Or will you just rely on stealing other people's works from now on?"
Sophia's face darkened, but quickly changed again, offering a smile devoid of warmth. "Designer Fang, you don't need to worry about whether my design drafts can be seen by anyone. We're responsible for different product categories, so there won't be any competition between us. You can rest assured, I won't steal your thunder."
Her smile became more sinister as she leaned in to whisper in Fiona's ear. "I'll just rise above you."
"You!" Fiona took two steps back, shocked by Sophia's confident and sinister actions, her face turning pale.
Their colleagues were watching, and she couldn't afford to be seen as a laughingstock. Fiona raised her hand, ready to strike Sophia.
But Sophia was prepared and quickly caught her hand.
"If you slap me, I will go to the general manager's office and cry. And when an investigation is conducted, it will be revealed that you were the first to make physical contact. It will only be you who gets fired."
She warned sharply.
Fiona inexplicably felt a sense of fear. Damn it, this new person was not easy to deal with.
In the past, when new people found out she was a senior designer, they would flatter her and even if she asked them to do something, they would dare not speak a word of complaint. She was one of the company's important designers, even the director had to give her some face.
But if this escalated to the general manager's office and the boss found out... Fiona thought of that cold, love-hate man. He couldn't be easily influenced, and he might not side with her.
"Just you wait!" Fiona threatened, and angrily walked away.
Sophia remained, a sense of victory evident on her face.
Take a deep breath and sit down.
Charlotte said anxiously, "You've offended Fiona. She will definitely find a way to retaliate in the future."
Sophia was also a little annoyed. On her second day at work, she had offended an old employee, and she was known for being difficult. It was easy to imagine that the days ahead would be quite eventful.
But she was here to design, not to do odd jobs, and certainly not to be Fiona's personal assistant. If she yielded to Fiona now, Fiona would only become more aggressive, which would go against her original intentions.
She just wanted to focus on her design work.
Hmph, it's all that Gabriel's fault. Sophia cursed Gabriel in her heart again and made a note of it in her little notebook.
Larry looked at Sophia admiringly and said, "Sophia, I admire your courage."
"Haha, thank you."
During lunch break, Fiona and Tiffany sat in the company café. Fiona was still angry and stirred her coffee vigorously, causing it to spill.
"Who made you angry?" Tiffany asked with concern.
"It's that new girl, Sophia."
Tiffany's heart skipped a beat and she asked, "What did she do to you?"
"I asked her to photocopy some documents for me, and she used used paper and made copies with mistakes. It made me embarrassed during a meeting. And she even arrogantly threatened me, saying that if I laid a hand on her, she would report me to the general office..." Fiona complained, exaggerating the situation.
Tiffany's eyebrows lightly furrowed. She murmured softly, "She wasn't like this before."
"What?" Fiona widened her eyes in disbelief. "You know her?"
"Yeah, just an acquaintance."
Hearing Tiffany's words, Fiona felt relieved. It was a good thing they were only acquaintances. If Tiffany had a better relationship with Sophia, she couldn't afford to offend her.
After all, it wasn't easy for her to get close to Tiffany. She had to maintain their relationship well, as Tiffany was the future CEO's wife.
Once they got married, as the CEO's wife's best friend, there was no doubt she would get promoted to become a director.
Fiona's heart was filled with excitement, as if she had already become a director.
Curiously, she asked, "How did you two meet?"
Tiffany sighed, "There were some unpleasant incidents in the past, but it's all in the past. There's no need to bring it up. Besides, I've let it go."
She said it with such grace that anyone who heard it would think that Sophia had bullied Tiffany. Moreover, Tiffany had gracefully let go of any resentment, especially considering that Fiona had just had an altercation with Sophia in the morning.
"I heard that Sophia got in through the back door. Is that true?" Fiona leaned in and asked in a secretive manner.
Tiffany raised an eyebrow. There weren't many people in the café, and they were sitting in a visible spot, but there weren't many people around. She wasn't worried about being overheard.
She hesitated, unsure if she should speak.
"Whether she got in through the back door or not, she is already a member of Lancaster. It's better for you to stay away from her in the future."
She hesitated for a moment.
