Chapter 198 Furious Enough to Burst a Blood Vessel

As female celebrities, they were expected to wear elegant and noble gowns on the red carpet, regardless of the season. The material of these gowns was usually quite thin, either revealing the shoulders, back, or thighs. With B City’s chilling weather, everyone was shivering with cold lips.
Sophia's design was quite ingenious. The lining of the gown could hide several heating pads, and crucially, it didn't affect the aesthetics.
So, on the day of the award ceremony's red carpet walk, while other female stars were shivering from the cold, only Noah seemed immune to the chill.
The hem of the dress wrapped around her thighs, allowing her to discreetly wear thermal leggings underneath. She also stuck two heating pads to her abdomen. Only her bare shoulders felt a bit cold, but this didn't hinder her from elegantly and beautifully completing the red carpet walk.
When Larry asked Sophia how she managed to be chosen by Noah, Sophia chuckled innocently.
"Actually, I used a little trick."
She had researched all the styles of Noah's private clothes. On the day she delivered the gown to Noah, she deliberately wore a style that Noah liked, which she had designed herself. Then, combined with the fact that the gown could hide heating pads, this naturally increased the chances of her being chosen by Noah.
Larry silently gave her a thumbs up.
"Compared to the gowns worn by female stars at the International Film Festival, mine doesn't stand a chance."
"But you're the most impressive one. You thought of something that others couldn't. If you don't win, who will?" Larry admired her immensely. He was certain he wouldn't have been as thoughtful.
"By the way, I heard that there will be a heavyweight judge in the national competition. Sophia, you must seize this opportunity."
Sophia nodded vigorously.
That day, the five designers who had previously submitted their resignation letters suddenly received a call from the administration department to process their resignation procedures.
The five looked at each other, baffled, and then rushed to find Margaret.
Margaret was overwhelmed.
It was one thing after another.
She hadn't figured out how to handle Fiona's plagiarism incident yet, and suddenly she was told that these five were being notified of their resignations.
Margaret was also puzzled.
"Don't panic, let me find out what's going on first."
Margaret called the administrative director.
The administrative director said with confusion, "Didn't they resign themselves? I still have their resignation letters here. They are even signed by Mr. Lancaster."
Margaret understood immediately.
Jesus, Mr. Lancaster had kept their resignation letters for approval.
But with the departure of these five, the design department would certainly be in turmoil.
The five were in the office, Margaret had the call on speaker, and they all turned pale when they heard the administrative director's words.
"Margaret, we don't want to resign."
"You don't want to resign, yet you wrote resignation letters." Margaret was speechless.
They stirred up trouble and now they were facing the consequences.
"We just wanted fairness."
"The assessment is over and Sophia won. Is that fair?" Margaret retorted.
The five were left speechless, still insisting on Margaret pleading for them. Margaret, unable to resist their pleas, reluctantly made a trip to the general manager's office.
Gabriel had just arrived at the company from the hospital. After listening to Margaret, Gabriel continued signing documents without lifting his head, his tone leaving no room for doubt.
"They wanted to resign, and I granted their wish. What's wrong with that?"
Margaret felt a chill run down her spine. "Nothing."
After a while.
"Anything else?"
Margaret hesitated for a while.
"In this assessment, Fiona made a gown identical to Sophia's. After investigation, it was found that Fiona plagiarized Sophia's design."
"Plagiarism? Do I need to tell you how to handle such a thing?"
Mr. Lancaster's oppressive aura hit Margaret, making her feel immense pressure.
"But Fiona said that Miss Foster instructed her to do so."
Gabriel paused in his signing for a moment. He then completed his signature, then looked at Margaret with a heavy gaze. The pressure of a superior continued to bear down.
Margaret immediately held her breath, not daring to breathe heavily.
Gabriel asked coldly, "What position does Tiffany hold in the company?"
Position?
"Mrs. Lancaster?"
Did Mrs. Lancaster count as a position?
"We're not married."
"So, she doesn't hold a position."
After replying, Margaret understood and didn't dare to wait for the boss to prompt her anymore.
"I know what to do. I'll go handle it right away."
After Margaret left, Gabriel continued signing documents.
With Mr. Lancaster's words, Margaret felt no reservations and began to reassess Tiffany's influence within the company. Mr. Lancaster had stated they weren't married, which implicitly meant that Tiffany was not yet Mrs. Lancaster, and without any position of power in the company, Tiffany had no authority to meddle in its affairs. They didn't need to walk on eggshells around her. Margaret's pent-up frustration finally dissipated.
Soon, Fiona received her termination notice. One moment she was basking in self-satisfaction, the next she was tumbling off a cliff. Fiona was stunned for a while, then abruptly stood up and ran to find Margaret. Margaret simply stated it was the company's decision, and if Fiona had any issues, she should take it up with Mr. Lancaster.
So, Fiona was invoking her Miss Foster card, and Margaret was invoking her Mr. Lancaster card. It was a matter of seeing whose influence was greater, Miss Foster's or Mr. Lancaster's. Fiona did go to the general manager's office but was stopped at the door without even getting to touch the office door.
"Sophia." Fiona returned, looking as if she'd lost her soul. Upon seeing Sophia, she suddenly lunged at her, "Please help me. I really didn't plagiarize your work. I just made a mistake in a moment of folly. I'm sorry, please forgive me. Don't let the company fire me."
Fiona's termination notice had been issued, explicitly stating that Fiona was dismissed for plagiarizing a colleague's design and served as a cautionary tale to others. The news caused a sigh amongst everyone. Some saw it coming while some found it unbelievable, and many were gloating.
Sophia pulled her arm away. "The person you should be begging is your Miss Foster, not me. I don't have the power to make the company rescind its decision."
Seeing Sophia refuse to help, Fiona suddenly began cursing, "You wretch, it's all your fault! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been fired. You're a disaster! Ever since you joined the company, I've never had a good day. I'll kill you..."
Fiona, like a madwoman, lunged at Sophia. Larry, who was nearby, quickly rushed over to help. The scene was chaotic for a while.
In the end, Fiona was carried out by security and thrown out of the Lancaster Group building, and from then on, Fiona was blacklisted by the Lancaster Group.
When Tiffany heard about this, she was so angry that she wanted to give Fiona another beating. How dare she plagiarize under her banner and even lose! Gabriel was already misunderstanding her, and this incident just added fuel to the fire. Tiffany was furious enough to burst a blood vessel.
She couldn't believe she had chosen such a foolish ally who not only destroyed herself but also dragged her down with her. Tiffany was a little worried. After this incident, would Gabriel still take her to the annual meeting? No, her plan couldn't be thwarted by this!
