Chapter 372 She Was a Useless Person
Because Gabriel didn't use ice to reduce the bruise in time, the bruise on his left eye was particularly noticeable today. Moreover, he spent the whole night covering Sophia with a blanket, making him look a bit haggard.
Harrison made a fist and asked, "Do you need me to punch you again? You'd look just like a bear."
"Get lost."
Harrison clutched his stomach. It was the first time he had seen someone beat Gabriel like this. He was dying to know who the tough guy was.
"If you don't stop laughing, I'll have Alex throw you out," Gabriel warned with a dark expression.
Harrison stifled his laughter.
"Alright, I won't laugh anymore," Harrison said, still unable to hold it in.
His phone rang, and Harrison saw the caller ID was the Tuck family, so he quickly answered.
"Harrison, can you come over? Noah..."
"I'll be right there."
Gripping his phone tightly, Harrison walked to the door and then turned back.
"Have Alex cover for me in the morning meeting."
"Okay, let me know if anything comes up."
"Got it."
Harrison hurried out.
Sophia arrived at work and saw Tiffany sitting in a wheelchair.
The wounds on Tiffany's face had healed, but her legs still couldn't walk normally, so she had to sit in a wheelchair.
They ran into each other in the elevator. Tiffany looked at Sophia as if she were an enemy.
Sophia acted as if she didn't see Tiffany and greeted others with a smile.
The elevator reached the floor, and Sophia walked out with her colleagues while Tiffany continued upward.
As soon as they exited, a colleague curiously leaned in towards Sophia. "Did you see Ms. Foster's face just now? She looked so gloomy. I heard she got fired from the company."
"What?" Sophia was puzzled.
"I know a secretary who said Mr.Lancaster hasn't liked Ms. Foster for a long time. After they broke up,She persistently bothered Mr. Lancaster, causing him to become frustrated, ultimately leading to her dismissal."
"I don't know how she still has the nerve to come looking for Mr. Lancaster."
Sophia was a bit surprised, not knowing why Gabriel suddenly fired Tiffany.
She sneered and thought, 'Tiffany is Gabriel's sweetheart. The firing is probably just a cover; maybe it is to give Tiffany a new start at her counseling room.'
'No matter what happened between Gabriel and Tiffany, as long as it doesn't affect my kids and me, it is fine.'
'In fact, if they get back together, it might even be beneficial for me.'
'As long as they get married, I can get custody of the three kids.'
Sophia suddenly had a new idea.
Given her situation, even if she appealed again, she might not regain custody of the kids. But if she could matchmake Tiffany and Gabriel, she could use the notarized agreement to reasonably get custody of the kids.
The kids would be hers, and Gabriel and Tiffany could do whatever they wanted.
That would be perfect.
"Ms. Kelly, are you free tonight?" Kathy walked over, smiling at Sophia.
Sophia gave her a strange look and replied, "Sorry, my friend is moving today, and I need to help tonight."
"No problem. Maybe tomorrow or the day after, I'll treat you to dinner."
Kathy wasn't upset about being turned down.
"We'll see."
Sophia looked down at her design draft.
Kathy glanced at it and walked away with a smile.
As the chief designer of the new brand, Sophia needed to recruit a few more designers; otherwise, she couldn't handle it all by herself.
Everyone was eyeing the new brand.
Besides Kathy, other designers also wanted to invite Sophia to dinner.
But Sophia found excuses to decline them all.
Having led a team abroad, Sophia could see through their intentions at a glance.
"Sophie, do you have any suitable candidates in mind?" Margaret was very interested in the creation of the new brand.
"Yes."
"Who did you choose?" Margaret was curious about Sophia's selection.
"Designer Lee, Elodie, and Larry."
"Larry?"
Elodie and Lee were both senior designers with experience and creativity, making them the best additions for Sophia.
But Larry seemed a bit less impressive in comparison.
"Yes, Larry's design talent has always been suppressed. His potential hasn't been fully tapped, and I want to explore it."
Margaret said, "Alright, you decide on the personnel. But isn't three people a bit too few?"
"We'll hire one more, and that should be enough."
"Okay."
The notice was quickly sent out.
Larry was stunned for a couple of seconds, then rushed to Sophia.
"Sophie, I..." Larry was so excited he couldn't speak.
Sophia handed him a drink.
"I chose you for your ability. From now on, work hard and stop playing games and watching live streams during work hours."
Larry nodded repeatedly.
Tiffany, strong-willed, pushed her wheelchair to Gabriel's office alone.
She was crying.
"Gabriel, I really didn't mean to send those messages to Sophia. I was just so scared. I was afraid you'd remarry her and leave me."
Gabriel frowned.
Tiffany continued to cry. "You promised me you'd marry me, Gabriel. How can you break your word?"
"I've lost my job and you. How am I supposed to live?"
"Gabriel, have you forgotten the wonderful times we had in the hospital?"
Tiffany cried so sadly, her nose and eyes red, looking so pitiful that it was easy to feel sorry for her.
In the past, Gabriel would have been moved by those memories and softened.
But now, he was disappointed in her.
"The Lancaster Group doesn't keep useless people. You're not suited for this job. I've already spoken to other companies. Once your leg heals, you can start there."
Tiffany thought, 'Did he just call me useless?'
Tiffany was deeply hurt.
She continued to cry, looking like she was about to faint.
Gabriel let her cry, not driving her away, which was the most kindness he could offer.
After a long time, Tiffany wiped her tears and looked up.
"I understand. Don't worry. I'll do well. I've thought it through. I'll live well on my own."
"Okay."
"What happened to your eye?"
Tiffany had been crying since she came in, her vision blurred by tears. Now she noticed the bruise under Gabriel's eye.
"Who hit you? Does it hurt?" Tiffany anxiously stood up and walked towards Gabriel, but as soon as her foot touched the floor, she fell.
"My foot," she cried out in pain.
Gabriel frowned deeply and got up to help her.
"Your eye."
Gabriel helped Tiffany back into the wheelchair and said, "I'm fine."
"It's all bruised." Tiffany was heartbroken. She raised her hand to touch his eye, but Gabriel quickly stepped back.
At the same time, she noticed the injury on Gabriel's mouth, which looked just like the one on Sophia's lips.
