Chapter 81 Two Angry Lion Cubs
Gabriel closed his eyes inexplicably and his hearing became even clearer, allowing him to hear Sophia's muttered words.
"Stupid Harrison, a playboy radish. Just like Gabriel, none of them are good guys."
Gabriel suddenly opened his eyes.
It was one thing for this woman to insult Harrison, but why was she now insulting him too?
He turned around with an unpleasant expression and ignored Sophia completely.
Harrison walked into the police station and was startled when he saw the two women with swollen faces.
"Who are you?"
"Gabriel~" The two women sweetly rushed towards him.
Harrison got scared and hid behind Gabriel.
"Don't come near me, I don't know you."
"I'm Candy." The woman looked pitiful, with her already bruised face making such an expression, it was quite... special.
"I know many Candys; how would I know which Candy you are? You hit someone, even if you were Sugar, it wouldn't change anything."
Gabriel walked towards Sophia's direction and Harrison had no one to shield him anymore.
He quickly put on a stern face and said firmly, "You should apologize to the victims quickly, or you'll end up in jail. Think it through."
The two women trembled in fear, though they were inwardly very resentful. Gabriel was actually defending that woman!
The police also reminded them, "If you can gain the forgiveness of the victims, you can seek bail later. Otherwise, you'll be detained for several days. Think it over."
The two women's faces turned pale. They didn't want to be detained, so they quickly went to apologize to Sophia.
"We're sorry, we were wrong. Please forgive us."
Although Sophia felt unlucky, this matter was all because of that scumbag, Harrison.
"First of all, I need to tell you that I have absolutely no relationship with him..." Sophia pointed at Harrison, "...getting dumped by that scumbag, just deal directly with him. There's no need for women to make things difficult for other women."
The two women repeatedly apologized, eager to obtain forgiveness.
Sophia couldn't be bothered to say much and eventually signed the forgiveness letter.
After leaving the police station, the two women were still clinging to Harrison.
Sophia couldn't find a way to scold him, so she could only leave.
Gabriel followed after her.
"I'll take you back."
Sophia coldly refused, "No need."
She stood at the intersection, looking at the time. Ethan and Emma must be worried at home.
"It's hard to get a taxi here. If you're willing to wait for an hour, then wait." After saying this coldly, Gabriel turned and left.
There were indeed few cars on the road, and even fewer taxis.
Sophia frowned as she watched Gabriel's tall figure walking away.
Forget it, might as well take a free ride when it's available.
Sophia followed behind Gabriel.
When Gabriel got in the car, he saw her following him.
A slight curve formed at the corner of her mouth, but as Sophia opened the back door, it instantly disappeared.
The car door "slammed" shut.
The air on the road was eerily silent as Sophia took out her phone and messaged Ethan.
"Sweetheart, Mommy got delayed with something. If you're hungry, look for something to eat in the fridge."
Ethan quickly replied, "Okay, Mommy, don't worry. Me and sis already had some bread."
"Good boy, Mommy is on her way back."
Ethan: "I'll be waiting, Mommy."
Gabriel stopped at a traffic light, watching Sophia holding her phone, chatting with someone.
Her face was filled with tenderness, and she seemed unusually happy.
Could it be that man?
Somehow, Gabriel felt a blockage in his heart, and a sense of annoyance surged within him.
The green light lit up, and he accelerated suddenly.
Inadvertently, Sophia's head collided with the back of the front seat due to the inertia, and her phone dropped.
She touched her forehead and glared at Gabriel in frustration.
He, on the other hand, had a serious expression as if the little mishap just then was nothing more than an unintentional mistake.
Sophia picked up her phone and put it back into her handbag. Then, she closed her eyes and feigned sleep.
Gabriel's mouth curled slightly upwards.
"Address," his deep, magnetic voice broke the quietness inside the car.
"Flora Garden."
The silence resumed, with nothing left to say.
In Sophia's mind, Gabriel had become nothing more than a driver.
When they arrived at their destination, Sophia got out of the car directly, without even saying a goodbye.
Gabriel's brow gradually furrowed again.
This woman!
He kindly gave her a ride home, yet she didn't say a single "thank you" and didn't even have a pleasant expression.
The more Gabriel thought about it, the more annoyed and restless he became.
He parked the car on the side of the road and lit a cigarette.
As soon as Sophia entered Flora Garden, she hid under a tree.
Seeing that Gabriel didn't leave for a long time, she couldn't help but feel anxious.
How much longer is he going to stay?
Finally, a few minutes later, Gabriel finished smoking his cigarette and left.
Only then did Sophia come out from Flora Garden and walked about five hundred meters to her residence, Blue End.
"Mommy."
Ethan and Emma were waiting for her outside the community.
"Why are you here?" Sophia quickly looked around, relieved to confirm that there was no sign of Gabriel.
"We were waiting for Mommy." Emma clung to her like a little cat.
Ethan also held Mommy's hand.
"Don't come downstairs to wait for Mommy anymore. Just wait at home." Sophia took the two children inside.
"Well, we were getting bored, so we came for a walk and waited for Mommy."
"Alright, let's go back, and Mommy will cook for you."
Ethan pondered for a moment. "Mommy, if you have to work overtime in the future, don't rush back to cook for me and sis."
"Hmm?" Sophia looked at her son with confusion.
Ethan: "I can order takeout for my sister."
"Takeout is not clean." Sophia never orders takeout for her children, whether in M country or in her home country.
She always tries her best to cook for them personally.
"Then I'll cook myself." Ethan said firmly.
"You're still young, and the stove is too high for you." Sophia smiled approvingly.
"I can stand on a stool."
Sophia shook her head. "Children have less strength, and it's dangerous to chop vegetables. Wait until you're a little older."
Ethan was unhappy.
He also wanted to help Mommy lighten her burden so she could focus on her career.
If he could take care of dinner himself, Mommy would have more time for herself.
In fact, Ethan had already learned how to cook, but Mommy wouldn't let him.
At most, she would allow him to help pick vegetables and reheat the dishes.
He decided that the next time Mommy came home late, he would cook for himself and show her a few times.
Then Mommy would no longer stop him.
"Mommy, what happened to your neck?" Ethan carefully noticed the two scratches on Mommy's neck.
Emma, upon hearing this, quickly turned her gaze and anger flared in her eyes.
"Mommy, who hurt you?"
The two little ones were furious, like two angry little lions.
Sophia touched her neck.
It didn't hurt much, but when her fingers touched it, she felt a slight bump, probably because the blood had dried into scabs.
