Chapter 646 How Disappointed
In the afternoon after school, the three kids were hustled into the car, bodyguards all around them.
Out of nowhere, Ethan turned his head, staring off into the distance.
Sam noticed and gave him a little nudge, his eyes asking, "What's up?"
Ethan grabbed Sam's hand, glanced around a bit more, then shut the car window.
He whispered, "I just felt like someone was watching us."
That look gave him a seriously bad vibe.
He tried to figure out where it was coming from, but all he saw were parents picking up their kids. No one looked suspicious.
As the car rolled away, Ethan kept peering out the window.
Sam and Emma, hearing this, started looking outside too.
Suddenly, a car parked in the corner caught Ethan's eye.
He only saw a familiar license plate number, couldn't make out who was inside.
Ethan quickly pulled out his iPad and started checking the license plate.
He found it fast.
"It's that bad woman!"
Sam and Emma leaned in.
"Is she up to no good again?" Emma said, clenching her fist in anger.
Sam, remembering past scares, shrank back a bit.
Ethan patted his shoulder.
"Don't worry, with Emma and me here, we won't let her hurt you!"
'That bad woman showing up outside the school must mean trouble, probably aimed at us,' Ethan thought, then kept tracking the license plate on his iPad.
Tiffany sat in her car, watching from a distance as the kids were escorted by bodyguards. Her grip on the steering wheel was so tight, her nails almost broke.
She wanted to have Gabriel's child but failed, which made Gabriel despise her.
She tried to use the favor of saving his life to make Gabriel stay good to her, but that failed too. Now Gabriel had completely cut her off.
'Gabriel even sent me a lawyer's letter!' she cursed silently.
Tiffany's head hit the steering wheel hard, but the pain in her forehead was nothing compared to the pain in her heart.
After who knows how long, Tiffany picked up her phone and called Dylan.
Dylan was the only person she could rely on now.
They arranged to meet at a secret spot.
As soon as Dylan got in the car, he ducked down to hide.
Tiffany sneered, "What are you scared of? No one's gonna notice here."
Dylan raised his head a bit. "Alex is looking into who leaked Gabriel's schedule to you. If I'm seen with you, Alex will definitely suspect me."
Tiffany held back her irritation.
"We're always careful when we meet, don't worry, we won't get caught."
Dylan slowly sat up, still glancing outside, then frowned and asked, "What do you want this time? Can't you just say it over the phone?"
"It can't be explained over the phone."
"What is it?"
'Does Tiffany have a good business idea?' Dylan thought, feeling a bit hopeful.
But Tiffany's next words almost made him fall out of his seat.
"What? What did you say? Miss Foster, do you know if we get caught doing this, we could die!"
Tiffany frowned hard. "Keep your voice down, or people outside will hear us."
Dylan immediately lowered his voice, shaking his head, "No way, we can't do this again."
Tiffany's face darkened, staring at Dylan with a gloomy look.
Dylan felt a bit scared of Tiffany.
He knew how ruthless she could be. He couldn't risk making her mad, or she'd find a way to get back at him.
"If we pull something like locking Sam in the elevator again, and Mr. Lancaster finds out, we won't even know what hit us, Miss Foster. We can't do this," Dylan tried to persuade her earnestly.
Tiffany was totally ignoring him.
Her delicate face twisted a bit.
"I have to do this. Sam seems normal now. He's always with those two kids, and he's getting better."
Tiffany was jealous of Sophia's happiness. It drove her nuts seeing Sam recover.
She wanted to make Sam's condition worse, make him more autistic, and make Sophia suffer!
"Don't worry, Gabriel couldn't figure out what happened last time, and it'll be the same this time." Tiffany was full of confidence. To make Sophia fall into eternal damnation, she didn't care anymore.
She wanted Sophia to lose everything.
Dylan trembled inside. He'd covered his tracks so well last time, no one would ever find out what he'd done.
On the surface, he was helping Alex investigate, but in reality, he was erasing the clues he found in advance.
Dylan wondered, 'Could I pull it off again without getting caught?'
His gut told him to refuse Tiffany.
But...
Tiffany's eyes narrowed dangerously, reminding him, "Don't forget we're in this together. You don't have to help me, but if I get exposed, I won't cover for you."
"And, don't you want to make some extra money with other businesses? Once this is done, I'll help you open more stores."
Tiffany's threats and promises made Dylan waver.
"Okay, I'll help you. What's the plan?"
Tiffany smiled with satisfaction, then whispered her plan to Dylan.
After about ten minutes, Dylan got out of the car with a heavy heart.
"Oh, and didn't you say Alex is investigating who leaked Gabriel's private schedule? Just find a scapegoat," Tiffany reminded him.
Dylan nodded, "I know what to do."
At eight o'clock, Alex was still working overtime at the company when Dylan brought someone in.
Alex stopped typing and looked at Dylan, confused.
Dylan said angrily, "Alex, it was him who leaked Mr. Lancaster's schedule to Tiffany!"
Alex's probing gaze fell on the person behind Dylan.
"Okay, I got it," Alex said lightly, then continued typing.
Dylan was scratching his head, thinking, 'Alex has been so worked up about finding the leak, but now that I found it, it's just... over? No punishment?'
Dylan asked, "Alex, this is a serious matter. Shouldn't he be fired?"
Alex finished typing, sent the message, then looked up.
He looked at Dylan, then at the person.
"Forget it. I already know who leaked Mr. Lancaster's schedule."
"What?" Dylan was surprised and quickly asked, "Who is it?"
"I have work to do. You guys can leave now."
Alex didn't answer Dylan and instead sent them out.
Dylan felt nervous and pondered, 'Why isn't this going as planned? Could there be someone else who leaked Gabriel's schedule?'
Dylan was so focused on this that he didn't notice the disappointed look Alex gave him as he left.
