Chapter 459 It Was a Complete Mess

"Thanks for your concern. I'll go with him to get his dressing changed," Linda said.

"Okay." Caroline didn't push to go with Daniel.

She'd send him the money for the dressing change later.

"Caroline, I need to talk to you."

What did Linda want? Was she mad that Daniel protected her from the acid attack?

Caroline paused. "I'm really busy at the moment."

"Just ten minutes. I can come to you."

Linda sounded desperate, making Caroline uneasy. She didn't really want to see Linda.

Then it seemed like someone took Linda's phone away from her. There were some murmuring sounds, and Daniel came on.

"Sorry, Ms. Clark. My hand's healing well, so no need to feel guilty. I'll handle the dressing change myself. Also, don't worry about this anymore. It was our family’s fault. Thanks for the reminder."

"Okay." Caroline replied coolly and hung up.

Did Daniel know Mia sent someone to throw the acid in her face?

At the Wolf family home, Daniel sat on the sofa, looking serious for the first time in front of Linda.

"Daniel, what do you mean? Diana's in a coma. If you won't go to Caroline, I will."

"Linda!" Daniel said helplessly. "Calm down."

Linda broke down crying. "How can I? We just found our daughter after twenty years, and now she’s terminally ill. The daughter I’ve missed for so long, I didn’t even get to make it up to her, and now she’s leaving us."

Daniel hugged Linda tightly. "I know how much you’ve suffered. I know you wake up crying from nightmares. Trust me, our daughter won’t die. I’ll find a cure."

Linda cried in his arms.

"The arrangements for going abroad are done. You and Diana will go for her treatment. Meanwhile, I’ll keep looking for a match."

Linda eventually calmed down.

Daniel sighed, "Don’t use the acid incident to confront Caroline. The person who ordered it was from our family."

Linda's eyes widened. "Who?"

"Mia."

Meanwhile, things were chaotic with Michael.

A young woman, Anna Ross, showed up with two men and threw a pregnancy test report at Mia. "I'm pregnant with Michael's child. It's been a month."

Mia looked at the report, trying to stay composed, and gave Anna a cold look. "Nowadays, any woman can claim she's pregnant."

Anna didn't get mad. She glanced around the luxurious house. "Michael wants me to keep the baby. He said my child can inherit his property, and he wants me to move in here."

Mia was furious but kept her cool. "If this child is his, show me proof."

"Here's the proof," Anna said, pulling out a stack of intimate photos of her and Michael. "I've been with Michael for six months, and I've only ever slept with him. We can do a paternity test if you want."

Mia's grip tightened on the sofa, her nails leaving marks on the leather. "What do you want?"

Anna smirked. "I want to be Michael's wife."

"Not a chance!"

"Michael always complains about you. He says you're old, boring, narrow-minded, and neither elegant nor generous. But I'm young, beautiful, and considerate of his feelings."

"Get them out of here!" Daisy shouted from the second floor.

Two bodyguards rushed in.

Anna looked at Daisy calmly. "You must be his daughter. Don't worry, once I marry your dad, I'll teach you how to keep a man so you won't get dumped by Nicholas."

"You..."

Anna's words hit Daisy hard.

"Throw this bitch out!" Mia yelled, even angrier now.

But the men Anna brought were skilled and easily overpowered the bodyguards.

Anna stood up, looking triumphant. "No wonder Michael keeps a mistress. You look like an old witch. How could he like you? Still, it doesn't matter. I'll make sure Michael divorces you. He'll love my child the most."

Anna turned to leave, swaying her hips and smiling smugly.

Mia, pushed to her limit, grabbed a knife from the table and lunged at Anna.

"Mom!" Daisy screamed.

Anna screamed, "Murderer!"

"Stop!" A loud voice made Mia freeze. Michael rushed in, and Anna quickly hid behind him.

Michael slapped Mia hard. "If you hurt her, you'll regret it!"

Mia's face went pale.

"Michael." Anna clung to him, looking pitiful.

He glared at Mia again.

"Michael, my belly hurts," Anna said, clutching her stomach.

Michael's face changed, and he quickly picked her up and rushed to the hospital.

The room fell silent. Mia collapsed, tears streaming down her face.

Daisy came down, hugging Mia. "Mom."

"I gave him two kids. I never thought of leaving him, but he treats me like this?"

Mia had suspected Michael had a mistress but was willing to ignore it as long as it didn't affect her. Now, the truth was out, and it was brutal.

Michael didn't care about her at all and defended his mistress.

"Mom, you and Dad can't get divorced," Daisy said, trembling. "It would be so embarrassing for me in the Watson family."

A ruthless look flashed in Mia's eyes. "I won't get divorced. I won't let that bitch's child be born and compete with my kids for the inheritance!"
