Chapter 464 Forever Apart

Ella explained again, "Maybe the person who carved the tombstone missed it, but it's not a big deal. It's fine."

Sophia pressed her lips together and didn't ask further.

Originally, she had a lot to say to her parents, but with Logan and Ella there, she didn't want to say anything.

So, after paying her respects, Sophia left.

Logan didn't want to miss this opportunity. "Why don't you bring the kids and Gabriel home for lunch, Sophie? Your grandmother misses you a lot. She was very worried when she heard about the fire at Harbor Bay."

Sophia stopped in her tracks before turning around to look at Logan. A cold smile appeared on her face. "If you really care about me, why not give me some money to rebuild my home?"

Logan was taken aback; he hadn't expected Sophia to ask for money.

Rebuilding Harbor Bay would be a significant expense. Logan was reluctant to spend that kind of money.

Ella was the first to disagree. She cursed Sophia and called her a leech in her mind, but she smiled and said, "It's only right to give you some money, but Logan's company has just started to recover, and the clients' payments haven't come in yet. We can't come up with that much money right now."

"No problem, I'll wait until you can," Sophia said, showing no sign of compromise.

Logan glared at Ella fiercely, thinking she shouldn't have spoken if she couldn't say the right thing!

"Don't worry, once I have the funds, I'll definitely help you rebuild your house. But where will you stay in the meantime?" Logan asked, pretending to be concerned.

Gabriel looked at Sophia affectionately and said calmly, "Of course, she'll stay at the Lancaster Villa."

Ella's eyes widened. "You two got back together?"

Did Gabriel break up with Tiffany for Sophia?

Gabriel didn't answer her, and Sophia didn't want to say anything more to them.

"I'll be looking forward to thatmoney. I hope you send it soon."

With that, Sophia took the children and left.

Logan stood there, his face grim. Ever since Sophia was taken in by the Lancaster family and married Gabriel, she had been out of their control.

Now, trying to control her was even more difficult.

They had originally planned to give Sophia some money, send her abroad for further studies, and then find a way to keep her abroad permanently. This way, they could prevent the Blackwood family from ever meeting Sophia.

As long as Sophia stayed in City B, they couldn't rest easy.

"What should we do? Now that Sophia is back with Gabriel and has the Lancaster family's protection, she..." Ella was very worried.

"Let's talk about this at home."

The two returned to the Brown Villa, where Colin and Patricia had already returned from the hospital.

"What did the doctor say?" Ella asked Patricia with concern.

Patricia still looked a bit pale. She sat weakly on the couch, and it was Colin who replied. "The doctor said she caught a cold."

Early that morning, Patricia had complained of stomach pain, so Colin had to take her to the hospital for a check-up, causing them to miss paying respects to the Kellys.

After having lunch at the Brown Villa, Colin excused himself. He wasn't used to staying at the Brown Villa, so he had booked a room at a hotel.

As soon as he left, Ella went to Patricia's room. "Patricia, your dad and I saw Gabriel at the cemetery today."

Patricia, who had been looking listless, immediately perked up at the mention of Gabriel's name. She grabbed Ella excitedly. "I should have gone today."

"It's a good thing you didn't!"

"Why?"

Ella said solemnly, "Gabriel was there with Sophia to pay respects to her parents. If you had gone, Colin would have gone too. If Colin saw Sophia and she accidentally said something, wouldn't the truth be exposed?"

"What! Gabriel was with Sophia? Mom, what's going on?" Patricia asked, completely ignoring the part about the truth being exposed.

"They seem to have reconciled, and they have three kids."

"Three kids?" Patricia's eyes widened in disbelief, and she grabbed Ella's hand so tightly that her sharp nails dug into Ella's flesh. "Weren't her two kids dead? Mom, she and those two kids should be dead. Why are they all still alive?"

Ella winced in pain and pried Patricia's hand away. "Calm down and listen to me."

Patricia's eyes were red, and her face, which bore some resemblance to Sophia's, looked particularly jarring due to her twisted expression.

She had liked Gabriel for a long time.

Having seen Gabriel's excellence, Patricia couldn't look at any other man. As a result, she was still single and always looking for opportunities to get close to Gabriel.

Just when Gabriel had finally broken up with Tiffany, it turned out Sophia wasn't dead, and now they were back together and even living together.

This was a huge blow to Patricia.

She couldn't calm down.

She just wanted to rush to the Lancaster Villa and separate Sophia and Gabriel forever.

"Patricia, we need to find a way to prevent the Blackwood family from discovering the truth. Only if you remain the Blackwood family's sole surviving heiress will you have the chance to get everything you want," Ella hugged Patricia, soothing her with gentle words and comforting her for over half an hour.

Colin went to check on the progress of renovations at the Blackwood Mansion, which were almost complete. By the end of the year, they would be able to move in.

Then, he contacted Sophia.

Sophia had taken the whole day off and had immediately made plans to meet Colin when she heard he was back.

As she hurried out, Gabriel happened to be coming downstairs.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

"To meet someone important. I might not be back for dinner, so don't let the kids wait for me," Sophia replied, grabbing her bag and rushing out.

'Someone important to Sophia?' Gabriel pondered this, feeling a surge of jealousy.

'Could she be meeting Jake? Jake has become someone important to her!' This realization made Gabriel feel a strong sense of crisis.

He went to the kitchen, poured a glass of water, and drank it quickly and anxiously.

Then he placed the glass on the table with a thud.

Gabriel wiped the water from the corner of his mouth, a glint of determination in his deep eyes.

Sophia drove to the hotel where Colin was staying.

Colin was already waiting in the lobby.

"Colin!" Sophia greeted him warmly, clearly happy to see him.

Colin adjusted his glasses, sitting there with a scholarly demeanor. When he saw Sophia, a warm smile immediately appeared on his face. "Long time no see."

To be honest, he had missed Sophia a bit.

"Colin, why did you come back so suddenly?"

"I have a sister who came back to pay respects to her parents, so I went with her."

Sophia thought it was quite a coincidence, but the thought quickly passed and she didn't dwell on it.
