Chapter 468 Hope
"Patricia knowing how to express her opinions is a good thing; it shows she's growing. With proper guidance, she can become an outstanding woman like you," Celeste said happily.
Jennifer nodded lightly in agreement. "Patricia is a good kid."
At first, Patricia had many issues, but with their intentional and unintentional guidance, she changed a lot.
"Mrs. Celeste Blackwood, a call from Mr. Blackwood," the nanny said, holding a cordless phone.
Celeste answered the call.
Her health had improved significantly, but given her age, her immune system wasn't as strong, and she still had a bit of a cough.
Celeste coughed for a while, and the person on the other end patiently waited for her to finish before speaking.
It was David.
A few minutes later, she hung up. Seeing Celeste's serious expression, Jennifer felt uneasy. "Mom, is something wrong?"
Celeste sighed, "We might have to return to the country earlier than planned."
They had originally planned to return at the end of the year and officially start the domestic operations of Fusion Dynamics Corporation after the Christmas.
However, the relocation wasn't going smoothly, and they were now forced to move up their plans.
They had been methodically handling various relocation tasks, but now, the sense of urgency was overwhelming.
Sophia was still negotiating with the seller when she suddenly received a message from Jennifer that they might have to return earlier and needed her to quickly finalize the new location for Fusion Dynamics Corporation.
In the end, Celeste chose one of the two locations.
Sophia signed the contract on the Blackwoods' behalf.
When Patricia heard they had to move back earlier, she panicked a bit.
Colin said, "I'm going back tomorrow to help. Are you coming with me?"
Patricia quickly responded, "I'll go with you. I'm also a Blackwood, so I need to help too."
"Alright."
With that Colin bought two plane tickets. There was still some time left, so Colin thought he would pay Sam a visit.
The Brown family heard they were returning to Country M soon, and Chloe, not wanting to let Colin go, insisted he stay for dinner at The Brown Villa.
This delayed their plans, and Colin had to cancel his visit to Sam.
Early the next morning, Colin and Patricia hurriedly boarded the plane.
The news of Fusion Dynamics Corporation relocating back to the country leaked out, and within a day, it spread throughout the industry.
Everyone in the department was talking about it.
"Fusion Dynamics Corporation is moving back. Does that mean we have a chance to get into Fusion Dynamics Corporation for training?"
"Don't even think about it. Even if Fusion Dynamics Corporation moves back, it's not so easy to get in."
"Still, at least we're a bit closer to our dream."
"Kathy, do you want to get into Fusion Dynamics Corporation?" someone asked.
Holding her coffee, Kathy said confidently, "Of course I do, but not just anyone can get into Fusion Dynamics Corporation. Those who do are exceptionally talented."
"You're so talented; you'll definitely get in."
Kathy smiled modestly. She appeared calm on the surface, but she was already scheming in her mind. She had been gathering information for a long time and had done a lot of homework in secret, just waiting for the right opportunity.
Sophia had connections with Jennifer from Fusion Dynamics Corporation, but Kathy couldn't get through to Sophia.
No matter how she tried to get close to and flatter Sophia, Sophia remained indifferent.
Just wait, once she got into Fusion Dynamics Corporation, she'd show Sophia!
The three kids quickly became well-known figures at school.
Their triplet status made them the mascots of the class, as though they were an exhibit for people to see.
The teachers liked them, as did their classmates. Everyone wanted to be friends with them.
This worried Josie.
Everyone wanted to be friends with Emma. Would Josie be pushed aside by new friends?
"Emma, let's play hide and seek," a girl said, inviting Emma to play.
Emma shook her head. "I don't want to play such childish games."
The girl didn't think Emma was aloof; instead, she found Emma very cool.
Kindergarten was different from first grade. In kindergarten, kids played childish games, but in first grade, besides playing childish games, they also had to study.
To motivate students to be more interested in learning, the teacher had prepared many prizes.
As a result, Emma won the most prizes.
Kids loved to admire the strong, so Emma gradually became the most admired person in her class.
As for Ethan, the first-grade syllabus was too easy for him. He found quietly reading complex programming books more interesting.
Sam didn't like interacting with others either, but being one of the triplets, he was also very popular.
Seeing someone else invite Emma to play, Josie got anxious. But when Emma refused, she felt relieved.
"Emma," Josie said, taking out some snacks Nicholas had bought for her from her desk. "These are from my dad. They're really good."
Emma took them and tore open the package. "Let's eat together."
"Okay."
After a while, Josie gathered her courage. "Emma."
"What?"
"Am I your best friend?"
"Of course," Emma said with her mouth full.
"Then I want to be your best friend forever."
"Sure."
"Even if you have other good friends, I still want to be the best one," Josie said with conviction.
Emma swallowed her snack, her eyes rolling. 'So, this is why Josie has been in a bad mood lately.'
She gently patted Josie's shoulder. "Don't worry, you'll always be the best of my best friends."
Josie immediately smiled brightly, and the two kids continued munching on snacks.
Because Josie and Emma got along well, others wanted to be friends with Josie.
Josie was flattered. In kindergarten, she was the least popular and was often bullied.
Suddenly, in first grade, the opposite happened and everyone liked her instead.
After school, Josie went home, chattering away to Caroline.
Seeing Josie becoming more cheerful and brave, Caroline felt indescribably happy. She had successfully joined the music academy and would start working officially tomorrow.
Caroline used to feel adrift without a sense of belonging, but now with Josie, she felt settled.
Life had hope, and she had spirit.
Nicholas had been on a business trip these past few days. Caroline found out about it from his Twitter.
Before boarding the plane, Nicholas posted a picture at the airport, and after landing, he posted another at the hotel.
Nicholas wasn't one to post often, but this time he posted twice in a row.
That was how Caroline deduced that he was on a business trip.
Otherwise, Nicholas would come to spend an hour with Josie every day.
The next day, Caroline dressed professionally, first taking Josie to school, then heading to the music academy to report.
As she approached Melissa's office, her phone rang.
It was an unknown number, so Caroline hung up.
The caller called again, so Caroline put her phone on silent.
