Chapter 640 Embarrassment
Sophia saw the video of Tiffany getting arrested in Country M and couldn't stop laughing every time she watched it.
People online were going nuts, trying to figure out what crime Tiffany had committed.
Her fans tried to defend her, but since the arrest happened during a live stream, their comments didn't hold much weight.
In just a few days, Tiffany lost half her fanbase.
Tiffany herself couldn't explain anything. Her team put out a public statement and sent legal warnings to those spreading rumors and making nasty comments.
But it didn't help; her followers kept dropping like flies.
Tiffany's team was freaking out. After failing to get in touch with Gabriel, they had to keep looking for local lawyers.
After a few days of back-and-forth, they finally got a result: Tiffany was getting deported back home.
Deportation was embarrassing, but it was better than being stuck in jail forever.
When Tiffany got out, she was a mess. She hadn't showered, had no clean clothes, and had to deal with all sorts of nasty smells while trying to sleep. She also heard other prisoners getting beaten up.
She was so mentally and physically wrecked that she couldn't even talk.
The police took her straight to the airport, not giving her a chance to change clothes, and put her right on the plane. As the plane took off, one of the cops gave her a final warning look before leaving.
On the plane, everyone stared at her.
People around her covered their noses and mouths, looking disgusted.
"Such a pretty girl, what did she do to get escorted by the police and end up so dirty?"
"Yeah, what a disgrace, even abroad."
Tiffany covered her face and started crying.
She thought, 'I've never been so humiliated!'
As the plane took off, her crying got louder, almost to the point of suffocation, making some people feel a bit sorry for her.
Once the plane leveled out, Lenora finally came over.
"Tiffany."
Tiffany hung her head, her tangled hair covering her face.
She followed Lenora to the business class section.
As soon as they got there, Tiffany slapped Lenora. "Why didn't you come get me earlier? Now I'm a laughingstock in front of everyone."
Lenora was shocked by the slap. She covered her face and said, "The police were there, I didn't dare to go over. After they got off the plane, it was about to take off, and the flight attendants wouldn't let me move."
Tiffany looked furious.
"I think you did it on purpose. Didn't you try to get Gabriel to save me?"
"No, we tried, but Mr. Lancaster's bodyguards stopped us. We couldn't even see him."
"Useless, all of you are useless."
Meanwhile, in the hospital, Gabriel's eyes had fully recovered. After the doctor checked him out, they confirmed he could fly back home.
The day before leaving, Gabriel, still in a wheelchair, had Harrison take him to see Christopher. They talked for a full two hours, and when they came out, they were both smiling.
The issue was mostly resolved, but dealing with Owen was still tricky due to lack of evidence and his influence in the area.
Gabriel had flown in on a commercial flight since the Lancasters' private jet wasn't available. On the way back, The Blackwoods' private jet was free, so Gabriel flew back with them.
The plane was cruising smoothly, and the kids were all knocked out next to Ruth.
Sophia walked over and covered them with blankets.
"I need to use the restroom," Gabriel said, looking at Sophia.
She glanced at Harrison, who was also asleep, and then at Colin, who was out cold too.
Looked like she was the only one available to help.
Sophia reluctantly helped Gabriel to the restroom.
Using the same method, she got him in and waited outside.
A few minutes later, as she was helping him back to his seat, the plane suddenly shook, causing Sophia to lose her balance and fall onto Gabriel.
Gabriel instinctively reached out to catch her.
It felt like something had just sparked between them. Sophia lay on his chest, feeling his strong heartbeat.
"What happened?" Sophia quickly tried to get up, but Gabriel pulled her back.
"What are you doing?"
Gabriel pressed her head down with his large hand.
"Just let me hold you." His voice was hoarse, with a hint of vulnerability.
Sophia suddenly quieted down and just lay on him.
The flight attendant announced that the plane had hit a small patch of turbulence but was now stable and safe.
After the announcement, Gabriel gently stroked the back of her head and lowered his voice.
"Guess what I was thinking right before I blacked out?"
"What were you thinking?"
"I was thinking about whether you could inherit all my assets, whether anyone would try to take it from you and the kids, and whether you would be bullied."
Sophia's hand suddenly clenched.
She gently closed her eyes, knowing that moment must have been very dangerous for him.
"Thinking about it now, I feel that if I died, you probably wouldn't be able to inherit my estate, but the kids could. However, the kids are still too young, and someone would definitely come to fight for it."
"At that time, you, Ruth, Ethan, Sam, and Emma would all face various dangers."
As for why she couldn't inherit, Sophia knew very well—it was because she was only his ex-wife.
Sophia said, "Are you trying to use your assets to tempt me into remarrying you?"
Gabriel was silent and thought, 'Is Sophia allergic to romance and love? Okay, I admit, I do have that thought.'
In fact, he really thought that way at the time, so on this return trip, he felt he could draft a will, just in case something happened again.
Gabriel raised his eyebrows, looking at her delicate, rosy face. His Adam's apple bobbed up and down.
He wanted to kiss her!
He slowly lowered his head.
Sophia realized that and nervously swallowed.
However, in the end, Gabriel resisted the urge and only took a deep breath in her hair before letting her go.
"You should get some sleep too."
There were faint dark circles under her eyes.
Sophia was indeed a bit tired.
"Okay, you get some rest too."
"Alright."
Sophia simply sat next to Gabriel. She closed her eyes, her mind filled with the image of him almost kissing her just now. She had actually been a bit expectant, and when he didn't kiss her, she felt a bit disappointed!
Sophia told herself in her heart, 'Sophia, are you really unable to escape Gabriel's clutches of evil?'
Ruth quietly opened one eye, glanced at Sophia and Gabriel, then closed it, smiled, turned over, and continued to sleep.
After getting back home, Gabriel only rested for two days before jumping back into work.
Alex came back at the same time, and his injuries were pretty much healed.
