Chapter 131 What the hell are you up to?
"Um, well..." Manager Chuck stuttered, unsure of what to say.
Just then, Mr. Tuck and his men all rushed out angrily, ready to confront Sophia. However, when they saw Gabriel, their momentum immediately deflated.
"Oh, Mr. Lancaster is here too," Mr. Tuck greeted casually.
"Hmm?" Gabriel continued to stare at Manager Chuck.
Sophia spoke up, "I always thought Lancaster Group was a place filled with talented individuals. Everyone told me that Lancaster doesn't tolerate idle and useless people. But here we have Manager Chuck dragging the design team out for a drink. What's that about?"
Manager Chuck remained silent. That was fine, Sophia decided to take the initiative and file a complaint first. Whether or not Gabriel would listen to her complaint was of no concern to her.
Gabriel's gaze suddenly became sharp.
Manager Chuck attempted to defend himself, "No, Mr. Lancaster, please don't believe her nonsense. It was Ocean Blue's Mr. Tuck who wanted to meet the designer from Flora. I brought the two designers together for a meal, but there were some misunderstandings between Miss Kelly and Mr. Tuck during the dinner."
Mr. Tuck's small eyes spun around as he weighed whether or not Gabriel would oppose him just because of a small designer.
"Mr. Lancaster, it truly was a misunderstanding," Mr. Tuck tried to smooth things over with a smile. He was certain that Gabriel wouldn't give up on collaborating with Ocean Blue. After all, he was in charge domestically and it was crucial to please him in order to help the Flora brand go international.
Everyone present were businessmen who valued profits. Gabriel wouldn't give up his own interests for the sake of an employee.
Who knows, maybe after a few drinks with Mr. Lancaster, he would hand over the designer.
"Mr. Lancaster, how about we..." Mr. Tuck started, but Gabriel cut him off coldly without even sparing him a glance. He turned to look at Sophia and said, "Still hesitating to leave?"
"Let's go, right away," Sophia swiftly left.
"What do you mean, Mr. Lancaster?" Mr. Tuck was left feeling anxious by Gabriel's words.
Gabriel ignored him and walked away, striding off.
Manager Chuck's face turned pale.
This is bad.
How did he end up running into Mr. Lancaster?
And judging by Mr. Lancaster's expression, he seemed to have taken Sophia's words to heart.
He was finished!
If only he knew Mr. Lancaster was here earlier.
You won't be the one organizing this dinner. Fiona caused a lot of trouble for him!
...
Sophia received a call from Caroline while standing at the intersection, waving to stop a car, but each passing car was already full.
A Bentley stopped in front of her, and the window slowly rolled down.
"Get in."
"No, I have something to do," Sophia replied, still not friendly towards him, but not completely ignoring him either.
After all, he did help her just now, resolving the situation and preventing her from falling down the stairs. Sophia's heart was filled with complex emotions that she couldn't describe.
She was in a hurry to find Colin. Caroline just called and informed her that Colin had already seen the medical records and wanted to confirm a few things with her.
Gabriel: "I'll also go find Colin."
Sophia looked at him in surprise. How did he know she was going to find Colin?
The dim light added a mysterious touch to Gabriel's handsome face.
"Get in the car!"
In the end, Sophia got in the car.
Tiffany was about to explode with anger. She specifically came to pick up Colin for dinner, but he never returned to the hotel.
She stood in the hotel lobby, unfortunately without Colin's phone call, just waiting helplessly.
Who does he think he is, a somewhat famous doctor, to act so arrogantly and stand someone up!
Tiffany gritted her teeth, thinking viciously about how to make Colin suffer a little.
Colin had dinner outside with Caroline and briefly reviewed the medical records they brought.
He usually doesn't take on this type of illness; it's too simple, and most doctors in China could treat it.
But who made him have a good impression of Sophia?
Finally, Colin and Caroline returned to the hotel together, entering with laughter and conversation. Tiffany quickly stood up and approached them.
"Mr. Colin," her tone carrying a hint of complaint, "You finally came back. I've been waiting for you for a long time."
Upon seeing her, Colin's face lost its faint smile.
"What's the matter?" he politely asked.
Tiffany's expression changed repeatedly. "Didn't Mr. Colin promise to meet tonight? I specially came to pick you up."
It's already past 8:30 now!
She had been waiting here for a whole two hours!
Gabriel must be impatiently waiting in the restaurant as well.
Although deep down, she secretly wished Colin would come back even later. She wasn't really sincere about having Colin treat Sam's illness. His various rejections towards her wishes had actually fulfilled her desire.
Colin found it amusing. "When did I promise to meet?"
"Last night, you said you would discuss it tomorrow."
Caroline chuckled. "It was 'maybe tomorrow' and not 'tomorrow for sure.' You misunderstood, and yet you blame others for standing you up. Heh."
Tiffany's face turned red and then pale with anger.
"You! Mr. Colin, you..."
"Since you don't intend to keep the appointment, don't give me any hope," Colin thought this woman was really annoying and irritating.
If he had known he would encounter such a troublesome person, he would have brought his assistant along.
"You really have a nerve. Please understand clearly that you're the one in need right now," Caroline retorted.
Colin nodded approvingly and gave Caroline a faint smile.
Then, he gestured with his eyes for Caroline to handle this woman, and he went upstairs first.
Caroline nodded slightly, no problem.
Sophia hurriedly ran in from outside, followed closely by Gabriel, who was also in a rush.
When Tiffany saw Gabriel, her eyes lit up. She felt like her backup had arrived.
She immediately approached him.
"Gabriel, Mr. Colin just came back. I told him about the appointment, but... I don't know what I did to upset him. He doesn't like us now," she complained as if she had suffered a great injustice.
Caroline rolled her eyes.
This woman was really good at pretending. Sophia's ex-husband seemed presentable and good-looking, but little did Tiffany know that he had terrible judgment. How could he prefer a lousy white bitch like her over Sophia, who was so outstanding?
When Colin saw Sophia, he stopped and looked at her, a slight smile appearing on his lips.
"Let's go upstairs and talk," he said.
Sophia nodded slightly, her face still flushed from drinking, but she wasn't drunk. At least her mind was clear.
She walked with Colin, accompanied by Caroline. Gabriel glanced at Tiffany.
"You go back first," he said.
She held onto him. "I'll go with you."
"Didn't you say Colin doesn't like you?"
She was referring to both of them! Herself and Gabriel. Colin didn't like them, not just her.
But Gabriel deliberately pretended to mishear her.
Tiffany opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but Gabriel brushed off her hand.
"Forget about this matter. I will convince Colin to let Sam receive medical treatment. You should go back first."
In the split second before the elevator doors closed, Gabriel quickly jumped in.
The three of them were momentarily stunned, especially Sophia.
"What is this shit man trying to do?"
