Chapter 670 He Is My Son
Daisy was bawling her eyes out, pouring her heart out, and everyone around felt for her. It was hard not to feel bad for a mom who loved her kid so much.
If they didn't know the real story, even Caroline might've bought Daisy's act.
People started whispering to each other.
Someone even yelled, "Daisy's already like this, and you still won't let the kid go? Do you want him to die?"
Nicholas raised his hand a bit, and his bodyguards stepped aside.
Daisy looked up, tears streaming down her face.
"Nicholas."
Nicholas gave her a cold stare, like an icy wind, making Daisy shiver. She had a bad feeling about this.
She finally got to see Nicholas; she had to make this count.
"Nicholas, Trevor has a heart condition. He can't handle this stress."
"If you knew that, why didn't you take him to the hospital?" Nicholas shot back.
Daisy was at a loss for words, her eyes darting around before she looked down.
"I have no money."
She'd spent all her cash on hiring trolls to stir things up online.
She never planned to treat Trevor's illness.
"It's not that you have no money; you just don't want to spend it on the kid because he's not Nicholas's son but some other guy's," Caroline said with a smirk.
Daisy felt like she'd been caught red-handed.
She glared at Caroline.
"It's you again. You've already taken Nicholas from me, and now you're trying to trash my love and loyalty to him!"
Everyone recognized Caroline when they heard this.
"It's her. I heard she made Nicholas abandon his son."
"I also heard Nicholas and Daisy were a thing, and their families had an engagement. Even if engagements aren't a big deal now, it's still legal."
"Caroline is such a witch."
The whispers reached Caroline, and her face changed a bit.
"The Wolfs heir doesn't need to do that!"
Daniel walked over, flanked by bodyguards.
He had this powerful, cold vibe, and standing next to Caroline, he made her feel super safe.
This was the kind of security only a dad could give.
Daisy called out, "Uncle Daniel."
"Don't call me Uncle. I'm not your uncle anymore." Daniel looked at Daisy like she was a stranger, then addressed the crowd, "Caroline is my only daughter. What don't the Wolfs have? Does Caroline need to steal someone else's boyfriend?"
"Besides, the one originally engaged to Nicholas was my daughter Caroline. Now that Caroline and Nicholas are in love, Daisy, who got dumped, is using a kid to stir up drama."
"Think about it, everyone. What kind of mom constantly posts about her and her kid's misery on social media? And Daisy, knowing her kid has a heart condition, doesn't take him to the doctor but instead looks for sympathy online."
Hearing this, some people started to see the sense in it.
"Yeah, I thought something was off before, but she cried so pitifully that I couldn't help but feel bad."
"Me too."
Daisy panicked, "Uncle, I didn't. How can you say that about me? Trevor is my son."
She dropped to her knees, crawling forward to grab Daniel's leg.
"Uncle, please, save Trevor. He's dying."
Daniel ignored her, so she turned to Nicholas, clutching his pant leg.
"Nicholas, can you really watch your son die?"
Daisy's tearful act was pulling at everyone's heartstrings again.
"Come on, the kid's innocent. If Nicholas lets him die, I'll spit on him every day."
"Same here. I'll bring a bucket of crap and dump it on his head."
"And Caroline, she shouldn't get off easy either."
Daniel was fuming, wishing he could just kick Daisy away.
People always feel sorry for the weak, and Daisy was milking it, using Trevor as her pawn.
Daniel glanced at Nicholas, thinking,
'Doesn't Nicholas have a plan? What's he waiting for?'
Suddenly, Daisy looked like she'd seen a ghost, staring behind Nicholas.
Sharpe was pushing Charles over. Charles still wasn't fully recovered, so he was in a wheelchair.
He looked pale and sickly, with sunken eyes, but he seemed in good spirits.
Daisy's grip on Nicholas's pant leg went limp.
Charles reached Nicholas's side and gave Daisy a long, hard look, his emotions all over the place. His pale lips finally moved.
"That kid isn't Nicholas's. He's mine."
Daisy froze, but then she snapped back, yelling, "You're lying. Who do you think you are, pretending to be my kid's father? Get lost. My kid's father is Nicholas!"
Charles looked hurt but stayed serious, "That night, it was me who was with you."
Daisy screamed, "You're lying. It couldn't have been you. Get away from me."
She couldn't believe it.
Daisy glared at Charles, eyes wide.
Charles didn't back down, "That night, you were very... enthusiastic. You even said..."
"Stop talking!" Daisy screamed, cutting him off.
Her face went pale, and she lunged at Charles.
"Shut up. I told you to shut up. You're just Nicholas's lackey. How dare you pretend to be my kid's father?"
Sharpe, ready for Daisy's move, quickly turned Charles around, and the bodyguards jumped in, pulling Daisy away.
Charles kept going, "You kept calling me Nicholas. You even liked..."
"Shut up, shut up!" Daisy's eyes were bloodshot, struggling like crazy.
Everyone got the picture.
There was a buzz of chatter.
So Daisy had hooked up with one of Nicholas's assistants, and after having the kid, she tried to pin it on Nicholas.
Everyone thought, 'This is huge.'
Daisy cursed, "You bastard, if you say another word, I'll cut out your tongue."
The bodyguards held her back, like a wild animal on a leash, snarling at Charles.
Charles felt his heart turn cold.
Daisy's curses were like knives cutting into him.
He once thought Daisy was amazing, a perfect match for Nicholas, and he'd even had a crush on her.
But now he saw that Daisy's politeness was just a mask.
Deep down, she looked down on him, held him in contempt.
