Chapter 373 You Still Had Josie

Gabriel pressed the landline phone.

"Come over."

After a while, Alex came in.

Gabriel ordered, "Take her back."

"Gabriel, you still haven't told me who hit you."

"Alex."

Alex quickly pushed Tiffany out.

Tiffany looked back unwillingly but was eventually pushed further and further away by Alex.

Her hand clenched into a tight fist, her nails digging into the flesh of her palm.

With those kinds of wounds, especially on their lips, it was hard for her to deceive herself into thinking that Gabriel and Sophia hadn't done something intimate.

She thought, 'Why?'

'Gabriel clearly didn't like women. Whenever a woman got close to him, he would become agitated and uneasy. Even for the past five years, every time I appeared in front of him, I had to wear a special perfume.'

'As a result, in five years, I had never had an intimate relationship with Gabriel.'

Tiffany's heart felt like it was being torn apart by many hands.

'So Gabriel's strange illness was actually cured, but the last time I treated him, he didn't say anything!

'Or maybe he was only not sick around Sophia but still couldn't accept anyone else?'

Blood dripped from Tiffany's hand, staining her white dress and spreading like petals.

She couldn't just sit and wait any longer.

'If things continued like this, Gabriel's heart would be completely taken by Sophia. If they remarried, could I make them divorce again?'

'Moreover, Gabriel and Sophia had three children together!' She kept thinking.

Tiffany forced herself to calm down.

She closed her eyes, pretending to rest, but in reality, she was hiding the madness and jealousy in her eyes.

The matter of Sophia's childbirth back then hadn't been fully investigated. Not only could her people not find anything, but even Gabriel's people had made no progress.

The person behind it had done too clean a job, leaving no clues.

Now, Mason was already in prison and wouldn't be out for three years.

Although Mason had said something to Gabriel, it seemed that Gabriel didn't believe him.

This made Tiffany breathe a little easier. Fortunately, she had long painted a bad picture of Mason in front of Gabriel.

And who was the person helping Sophia from behind?

Those three children, did Gabriel care more about the children or Sophia?

Alex drove expressionlessly, suddenly feeling a chill that made him shiver. He turned his head and saw Tiffany with her eyes closed, seemingly resting.

During lunch break, Sophia lay on the table to rest. Some fragmented memories from last night when she was drunk came back to her.

It seemed she had bitten Gabriel's lip.

Gabriel kissed her!

Sophia touched her own lips.

Right, she was at her own home. How did Gabriel get in?

It was Emma!

Sophia smiled bitterly. No wonder Emma looked so guilty when she ran away this morning.

At the kindergarten, four children gathered together.

"Josie, does your mommy still hit you?" Emma looked at Josie with the care of an older sister.

Josie shook her head. "My mommy has been very nice to me lately."

Emma was troubled.

If that were the case, Josie probably wouldn't want to change mommy.

"But she wasn't nice to you before."

Josie said, "The past is the past. As long as mommy is nice to me now, it's fine."

"What if she isn't nice to you in the future?"

"In the future..." Josie fell into thought. A few seconds later, she said, "Then I still have daddy. He said he would never leave me."

She had a great relationship with Nicholas now.

Nicholas was still very busy, but he had breakfast with her every morning.

Emma originally wanted to ask Josie if she wanted Caroline to be her mommy.

Ethan was right. If she suddenly told Josie that her mommy wasn't her real mommy, Josie would definitely be upset. So she had to take it slow, let Josie feel Caroline's love, and then tell her that Caroline was her real mommy.

'But now Josie seems very happy.'

'The situation is a bit tricky.'

Emma pouted and stayed silent.

Josie, not hearing Emma speak for a while, tilted her head to look over.

"Emma, are you unhappy?"

Emma said, "Josie, I have a secret to tell you."

"What secret?"

"My godmother actually had a daughter."

"Ms. Clark?"

"Yes, but her daughter died. Godmother cries every night."

Listening to Emma, Josie felt a tightness in her heart and clutched her dress.

"Godmother misses her daughter too much. If the daughter were still alive, she would be your age. Godmother told me you are like her daughter."

"Godmother is so lonely and pitiful." Emma's tearful words moved Josie, and her eyes reddened.

"What can we do to help Ms. Clark?"

"You can be my godmother's daughter."

Josie blinked in surprise.

Emma said, "You can think of Ms. Clark as your mommy. That way, godmother can channel her longing to you, and she won't cry every night."

"But my mommy doesn't let me get close to Ms. Clark." Josie lowered her head sadly.

Emma's eyes widened, cursing Daisy in her heart. 'That bad woman wouldn't let Josie get close to Caroline. She must be trying to drive a wedge between Josie and Caroline!'

'I can't let that happen!'

"You can think of Ms. Clark as your mommy in your heart and secretly get close to her. That way, if your mommy hits you, you can go to Ms. Clark for comfort. Then you'll have not just Daddy but also Ms. Clark as your mommy."

She was a genius. If Josie accepted Caroline in her heart, she wouldn't be upset when she learned the truth.

Ethan looked up from his programming codes and glanced at Emma.

Sam blinked his confused eyes, looking very cute.

After a long time, Josie nodded firmly.

"Okay, I understand, Emma. Don't worry. I'll make sure Ms. Clark doesn't cry."

At the end of the school day, Josie was taken to the Watson Group for her violin lesson.

Caroline found Josie a bit strange. Recently, she hadn't been as close to her, but today, she seemed to be close again.

Josie's gaze was also strange.

After the lesson, Caroline looked at Josie and asked, "Josie, did something happen?"

Josie shook her head and opened her arms to hug Caroline.

Caroline's heart trembled, a warm feeling flowing through her.

Josie's small body was warm and soft.

Her words were warm, too.

"Ms. Clark, you're not alone. You have me. Don't cry anymore. I'll be with you."

Although Caroline didn't know why Josie said this, it undoubtedly made her feel warm.

She hugged Josie tightly.

"Josie, if your mommy hits you, tell me, okay?"

"Okay."

Caroline took off the bracelet she had worn for many years, adjusted its size, and put it on Josie.

"This bracelet will protect you for me. You don't have to be afraid anymore."

"Okay, thank you, Ms. Clark."
