Chapter 370 Being Josie's Mommy

Nicholas returned home, and the banquet was almost over, with the guests gradually leaving.

Charles directly wheeled Nicholas back to his room.

"Stop!" A stern voice called out.

Charles stopped in his tracks.

Gummidge supported the furious Aragorn as they approached, Aragorn's trembling finger pointing at Nicholas.

"You bastard, you just have to ruin my birthday, don't you?"

Nicholas glanced at Aragorn expressionlessly and retorted, "Did you make me happy?"

"You!" Aragorn was so angry that he struggled to breathe.

Gummidge anxiously patted his back to help.

"Nicholas, today is your dad's birthday, and he's not in good health. Can you stop making him angry?"

Nicholas pursed his lips and looked away coldly.

His relationship with Aragorn had always been strained. Aragorn was controlling and had been very strict with him since childhood. When he wanted to apply to a music college, he was forced to study medicine instead.

Aragorn had ruined both his career and his love life.

Today, Aragorn had once again disregarded his opinion and unilaterally announced Josie's identity at the birthday banquet.

"He just wants to drive me to my grave. Once I'm gone, no one will be able to control him," Aragorn said, his face pale as he caught his breath.

"Uncle Aragorn, Aunt Gummidge, please don't scold Nicholas." Daisy appeared, standing in front of Nicholas. "If you want to blame someone, blame me. It's my fault for loving Nicholas too much. If it weren't for my insistence on marrying Nicholas, he wouldn't be in such a difficult position."

"Daisy, it isn't your fault. It's clearly this bastard being disobedient."

Daisy looked at Nicholas with a pained expression as if she had made a firm decision.

"I know Nicholas doesn't love me, but it's okay. I believe I can warm his heart. Nicholas, you don't want to marry me because of Josie, right?"

"Are you afraid I won't treat Josie well in the future?"

Nicholas sneered and was about to speak when Daisy suddenly showed him her phone.

"I've already scheduled a sterilization surgery, Nicholas. I'm willing never to have my own children for Josie's sake."

"Daisy!" Aragorn looked at Daisy in shock.

Michael and Mia walked over just in time to hear Daisy's words, and Mia immediately scolded her sternly.

"Daisy, what nonsense are you talking about? You can't get sterilized. Cancel that appointment right now." She tried to grab the phone, but Daisy held onto it tightly.

"I already have Josie. Even though she's not my biological daughter, I've raised her, and she recognizes me as her mom. It doesn't matter if I don't have my own children in the future," Daisy said.

Mia's eyes reddened as she said, "What if Josie finds out she's not your biological daughter in the future? You silly girl, you can't do this. If worse comes to worst, you don't have to get married."

"I don't want that. If I leave the Watson family, Josie won't have a mom." Daisy cried.

Mia said, "Even if she doesn't have a mom, you can't be deprived of your right to be a mother."

Nicholas lightly tapped his fingers, and Charles understood immediately. He pushed Nicholas past the struggling Daisy and Mia and into the room.

Michael snatched the phone away. "Stop fighting. Nicholas doesn't care about you at all."

Daisy felt like she was about to be consumed by fury.

Aragorn said, "Daisy, don't worry. We only recognize you as Nicholas' wife."

"You want to rent a place?" Sophia furrowed her brows. "You can stay here. Bring Lisa over to live here."

Caroline refused, "Sophie, thank you for always helping and supporting me during my toughest times, but I can't live with you forever."

"I also want to buy a house and have a place of my own."

Sophia reached out and hugged Caroline. "Since you've decided, I will support you. Where do you want to rent? I'll help you find a place."

"I've already asked an agent to find one. I'll move in tomorrow. Tomorrow night, I'll cook, and you can come over with the kids to celebrate my housewarming."

"Alright."

After helping Sophia with some tasks, Caroline came out to find the three kids staring at her.

Caroline touched her face. "Is there something on my face?"

The three little ones shook their heads in unison.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Caroline walked over and picked up Emma.

"Godmother, do you want to have a beautiful and cute daughter?" Emma asked, her face full of innocence.

"Don't I already have you guys?"

"Another one."

"Who?"

"Josie."

Caroline's movements froze, and she looked at the three kids inquisitively. "Be honest. Did you do something behind my back again?"

"We..."

"Godmother, we didn't do anything," Ethan interrupted Emma, blinking sincerely. "Josie said her mommy treats her badly, so we wanted to find her a new mommy."

Caroline was speechless. "So you thought of me?"

"Yes, Josie's mommy even pinches her, leaving red marks on her waist," Emma said and pointed to her own waist.

"What? Daisy actually pinches Josie!" Caroline thought of Josie's timid demeanor. Could it be that Daisy's abuse had caused it?

Her heart ached a little.

"Yes, Josie is so pitiful. Godmother, can you be Josie's mommy?"

Caroline chuckled and rubbed Emma's cheek. "I can't be her mommy, but I'm her teacher now. I'll take good care of her."

"Then you must be very good to Josie and give her lots of love."

"Yes."

As long as she was Josie's teacher, she would definitely be good to her.

But she didn't know how long she could hold this teaching position.

Some people really didn't deserve to be parents, like Nicholas and Daisy.

If she could, Caroline would like to adopt Josie, but with Josie's parents still around, she had no right to adopt her.

When the food was served, Sophia took out a bottle of wine.

Caroline said, "You have work tomorrow. Is it okay to drink?"

"It's fine. We're drinking at home, so there's nothing to worry about."

This time, drinking at home, nothing could possibly go wrong, right?

Caroline and Sophia each poured a glass of red wine, and the little ones poured themselves some juice.

Sophia raised her glass. "To the success of Lisa's surgery."

Everyone raised their glasses together.

They ate, drank, and chatted about the present and the future.

"In the future, I plan to continue touring," Caroline said, feeling excited after a few drinks. She finished one bottle of wine and asked Sophia to bring another.

"In the future, I plan to buy a house," Sophia said, her face a little flushed from the wine.

The three little ones sighed and went to the living room to play after finishing their meal.

Emma played a game and posted it on Twitter.

Soon, fans left comments asking Emma to start a livestream.

Emma now had fifty million followers, which was comparable to that of a top-tier celebrity.
