Chapter 385 Let's Call Off This Wedding
Aragorn asked seriously, "What did the doctor say? Can Nicholas be flown back home on a private jet?"
Sharpe replied, "The doctor suggests Mr. Watson stay here for treatment for now and wait until he wakes up for further observation."
"Alright, I understand."
Sharpe didn't understand why Aragorn seemed unconcerned about Nicholas' condition, but he had conveyed the situation and believed the Watson family would send someone immediately.
Gummidge, listening on the side, was very anxious.
"Honey, let's go check on Nicholas right away. I'll also inform Daisy."
Nicholas' fainting and coma made her extremely worried, and she wished she could rush to his side immediately.
"Don't rush." Aragorn calmly raised his hand to stop Gummidge.
Gummidge's eyes were red. She had no strong opinions of her own and could only wait quietly for Aragorn's instructions.
Aragorn frowned, his eyes shifting, and said, "Sharpe and Blake are with him; nothing will happen. We'll go after the wedding."
"The wedding is still on?" Gummidge was puzzled.
"It must go on!"
Only by binding the two families together completely would Daniel step in to help if the Watson Group faced another crisis.
Aragorn called Daisy, informing her about Nicholas' coma and that the wedding would proceed as planned. However, this meant Daisy would be the only one at the wedding.
After hearing Aragorn's words, Daisy was silent for a while. 'A wedding with just one person?Could that even be called a wedding?'
But she was unwilling to wait any longer. She had already waited for over six years, and who knew how much longer it would be if she waited more.
In the end, Daisy gritted her teeth and agreed.
"Alright, I'll cooperate with the wedding."
Aragorn immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
He had to consider the bigger picture. News of Nicholas' coma would surely spread after the wedding, affecting the Watson Group's stock price and other aspects. However, the marriage alliance could mitigate these impacts significantly.
Those who wanted to take advantage of the Watson Group would have to consider the Wolf family.
Paul brought Josie to the hospital again to talk to Caroline, and Sophia came over right after work, as did the three kids.
Paul and Lisa almost stayed at the hospital day and night.
It was rare for Paul not to go out and play for so many days, and his friends missed him a lot.
When Paul took Josie home at night, her eyes were slightly red.
"Uncle Paul, when will Ms. Clark wake up?"
"As long as we persist, she will wake up."
Josie had become familiar with Paul by now and obediently let him hold her.
When they arrived at the Watson family, Paul was immediately questioned by Aragorn.
"Where did you take Josie?"
"Out to play," Paul replied nonchalantly.
He put Josie down. "Go take a bath and go to bed."
Josie didn't dare to look at Aragorn and obediently went to her room to take off her clothes for a bath.
Aragorn didn't bother to say more; the most important thing was tomorrow's wedding.
"Your parents are busy cleaning up your mess, and you can't even come back. You need to help with Nicholas' wedding tomorrow."
Paul asked, "Has Nicholas returned?"
He couldn't understand why Nicholas suddenly agreed to marry Daisy.
He had to find out.
If Nicholas truly liked Daisy, he would not interfere and would give his blessing.
"He's still abroad."
"He's getting married tomorrow, and he's still abroad?"
Paul thought, 'Could it be that Nicholas doesn't want to get married, and this is all Aragorn's doing?'
'Would tomorrow's wedding be a solo act for Daisy?'
Paul had indeed discovered the truth.
"He was delayed by some matters. Tomorrow, you will go pick up Daisy on behalf of Nicholas."
"I'm not going. It's not my wedding." Paul felt something was off.
Aragorn took a deep breath, looking at his most beloved Paul, and sighed, "Paul, this wedding is very important to the Watson family. I don't want the Watson Group to go through the same turmoil as before. You don't want Nicholas to remain single forever, do you?"
Paul pouted, his eyes shifting, and he didn't refuse anymore.
"I'm leaving now." Paul grabbed his car keys and was about to leave.
"Stay at home tonight."
"No, I have things to do. I'll be there tomorrow."
After leaving the Watson family, Paul called Nicholas, but no one answered, so he went to the hospital first.
Paul looked at the comatose Caroline. Her face was pale, her lips colorless and slightly chapped. Paul used a cotton swab dipped in water to moisten her lips.
One of her legs was in a cast, and her waist was also strapped with a wooden board.
The car accident had caused severe fractures in her ribs and leg.
"Caroline, if you don't wake up, Nicholas will become Daisy's husband."
"Even if you don't like Nicholas anymore, what about Josie? Can you really bear to leave Josie behind?"
"Why did you abandon Josie back then?"
"Was it Nicholas who forced you?"
Paul frowned, deep in thought, not noticing Caroline's fingers moving slightly.
He stayed at the hospital all night, unlike the previous nights when he slept leaning over. This time, he didn't close his eyes all night.
At dawn, Aragorn called him to come back.
Paul gave some instructions to the nurse before leaving.
Reluctantly, he went to the Wolf family to pick up Daisy.
A line of luxury cars was quite a sight.
The Wolf family was also in a festive mood. In Daisy's room, Linda and Mia were talking to Daisy.
Linda smiled warmly, genuinely happy for Daisy.
"You're getting married, so you'll be an adult now."
"No, I'll always be your niece," Daisy said playfully.
Mia felt a bit uncomfortable, but on such a happy day, she wore a cheerful expression.
"You're so grown up, yet you still act spoiled with your elders. From now on, you can act spoiled with Nicholas."
Daisy blushed and lowered her head.
"Is Nicholas almost here?" Linda looked outside.
At that moment, Daisy's bridesmaids came in.
"The team to pick up the bride has arrived."
Downstairs, Clayton Wolf and Samuel Wolf blocked Paul.
"Why are you here? Where's Nicholas?" Samuel asked in surprise. 'Isn't the groom supposed to come with the groomsmen to pick up the bride? But now, only Paul and a few groomsmen are here.'
'Did the Watson family change the groom?'
Samuel was Daisy's brother. He had been studying abroad and was about to graduate. He and Clayton had come back specifically for Daisy's wedding.
Clayton was Daniel and Linda's son. He was also studying abroad but was younger than Samuel. He had taken leave to attend the wedding.
"Yeah, where's Nicholas?" Clayton looked behind Paul.
Paul slapped him on the head, pushing his head back.
"Nicholas didn't come back. I'm here to pick up Daisy on his behalf. Move aside, or I'll leave."
Samuel was shocked and asked, "What do you mean Nicholas didn't come back?"
He was smart and immediately caught the key information.
Hearing Paul say he would leave, Clayton quickly stepped aside. Paul was not someone he could afford to offend.
"If Nicholas didn't come, then this wedding shouldn't happen today."
Daniel's authoritative voice came through.
