Chapter 727 On the Boat
When Alex and the police rushed in, everyone inside had already fled, leaving only Gabriel lying on the ground, barely alive.
The police sent a team to chase Jake.
"Mr. Lancaster!" Alex ran to Gabriel's side.
Gabriel's wound was still bleeding, his hand pressed against it, completely stained red.
"Hurry, save Sophia. She's... she's on a boat."
Yes, from the photo Jake showed him, he deduced that Sophia was on a boat.
After saying this, Gabriel couldn't hold on any longer and fainted.
His wound had torn open. It caused severe bleeding and even further injured his stomach. Alex was very scared along the way.
Because Gabriel's condition looked very bad.
Blood was flowing all the way.
David did encounter some trouble, but Colin arrived in time, so he wasn't injured.
David and Colin were on their way here when they received a call from Alex.
Alex informed them of the situation.
"Mr. Lancaster said Miss Kelly is on a boat, but we don't know which specific sea area."
David asked, "How's Gabriel?"
"Mr. Lancaster has lost a lot of blood. We're on our way to the hospital."
David replied, "Take good care of him. We'll go find Sophia."
"Okay!"
Back home, Ethan suddenly woke up from a nightmare.
They hadn't slept all night, and they finally fell asleep at dawn.
His heart was pounding fast with anxiety.
Then Sam woke up too.
Soon after, Emma also woke up.
Emma's eyes were swollen like walnuts, and she was holding Sam.
Emma said, "I want Mommy and Daddy."
Ethan picked up the iPad and looked at it, then dejectedly lowered his hand.
"Ethan, have you found Mommy?" Sam asked.
Emma also looked at Ethan expectantly.
Ethan shook his head, moved closer, and hugged Emma with Sam.
"We have to be strong."
His eyes were red, tears welling up but he held them back.
Hearing this, Emma held back her tears.
"Yes, we have to be strong."
The three children hugged each other tighter, giving each other encouragement and comfort.
Jennifer hadn't gone to Fusion Dynamics Corporation yesterday or today. With two elderly people at home, Celeste had fallen ill, Ruth was holding on, and there were three children. Now, everything depended on her.
The servants and nannies at home were each doing their jobs, but they could also sense that they were uneasy.
Jennifer came to see the children. When she opened the door and saw them huddled together, encouraging each other, her nose tingled, and she wanted to cry.
"Jennifer." Ethan saw Jennifer.
Jennifer walked in and patted their heads.
Jennifer comforted, "Don't worry, we just received news that there's a lead on your mommy. David is on his way to rescue her now. She'll be safe soon."
The three children were excited to hear there was a lead and grabbed Jennifer to ask.
"Really? Is Mommy okay?"
"Where is Mommy?"
"Mommy must be safe."
"What about Daddy?" Sam asked last.
Jennifer didn't dare to tell the three children about Gabriel's severe injury. Sophia was already enough to make them worried and scared.
"Your daddy also went to rescue your mommy."
After a while, Caroline came with Josie.
Since Sophia went to Country M to accompany Gabriel for surgery, Caroline had been bringing Josie to visit the three children from time to time.
After learning that Sophia had disappeared, she had Nicholas send people to help search.
"Caroline." The three children looked at Caroline.
Caroline hugged them.
"Look at you, you've all lost weight. If Sophia sees this when she comes back, she'll be very worried about you."
The three children lowered their heads.
"I brought some delicious food. Come on, let's go downstairs to eat and wait for Sophia to come back."
Emma refused, "I can't eat."
Ethan pulled Emma's hand, "Caroline is right. We can't make Mommy worry anymore."
Josie also came over and held Emma's hand.
"Caroline will be sad if she knows you aren't doing well."
Emma nodded, and the four children went downstairs together.
Caroline and Jennifer followed behind.
"Jennifer, I heard that Celeste is sick. You must be overwhelmed. I'll come over every day to accompany the three children for the next few days."
Jennifer gratefully said, "Thank you so much."
Caroline waved her hand, "No need to be so polite. Sophia and I are best friends, and I'm also the children's godmother. It's my duty to help take care of her children when she's not here."
Jennifer had to comfort Celeste and take care of the three children's emotions, which was indeed overwhelming for her.
David and Colin, with their team, could only use the most basic method to search each sea area.
Gabriel only said Sophia was on a boat but didn't specify which boat.
"Dad, is there any way to search more precisely?" Colin asked with a frown.
David thought for a moment.
"Right, I'll ask Rock, who manages the nearby sea areas, for help."
In his haste, he had forgotten about Rock Barnes.
David used his relationships to contact Rock, who eventually agreed to help. Rock issued orders for the staff patrolling the sea areas to conduct a comprehensive search and monitoring.
However, more than an hour later, Rock regretfully informed David.
"We didn't find any suspicious boats in the sea areas I manage."
David and Colin were exhausted but had to stay alert.
Rock said, "There's one more sea area, but it's not under any official jurisdiction. A group of domineering and selfish fishermen have occupied it for many years."
"Our people can't monitor that area. I suggest you go check it out; you might find some clues."
Hearing this, David and Colin felt hopeful.
To avoid alerting anyone, they quietly questioned a few fishermen and finally got some clues.
A few days ago, some strange people did come here, but no one knew what they were doing.
They hadn't seen those people since then.
The fishermen's boats sometimes stayed out for days. Currently, there were three large boats at sea.
As for whether any other boats had mixed in, they didn't know because they had no monitoring system.
David was almost certain it was this sea area.
He immediately cooperated with the police and set out by boat.
At dawn, David and Colin took a short rest on the boat.
When they saw the first boat at sea, David and Colin woke up with a start.
However, there was nothing unusual about this boat, and they didn't find Sophia.
When they found the second boat, they initially found nothing either, but as they were about to leave, Colin noticed one of the fishermen's gaze darting evasively.
He immediately grabbed the fisherman's hand.
"Is the person we're looking for on this boat?"
The fisherman panicked, almost falling to his knees.
"No." He didn't dare to say.
He was the first mate of this boat. During the days at sea, they hadn't been fishing but just drifting around.
