Chapter 465 Passed Out

In the car, Sophia and Colin were catching up.

Sophia remembered that Jennifer had asked her for help, and coincidentally, Colin had returned to the country.

"Let me take you to see the two potential sites for Fusion Dynamics Corporation first," she said.

"Sure, sounds good."

Although Colin wasn't involved in Fusion Dynamics Corporation's affairs, he could still help by giving some input on the site selection.

Later, he would give his honest opinion to his grandmother and mother, providing them with a reference.

After visiting the two locations, Colin was full of praise for Sophia's business acumen.

"Sophie, compared to my sister, you're simply outstanding."

Sophia gave a modest smile. "I'm just doing what I can."

As night fell, Sophia and Colin went to a restaurant for dinner.

"I'll be staying for a few days this time. When would be a good time for me to visit Sam?" Colin asked.

"The weekend is coming up in a couple of days. The kids don't have school then, and they really miss you."

As they ate and chatted, Colin's phone rang. Seeing that it was Patricia calling, he didn't try to hide it from Sophia..

"Colin, where are you?"

Colin replied, "I'm out having dinner with a friend."

Patricia laughed. "Is it a guy or a girl? Do you have a girlfriend?"

"A girl, but she's not my girlfriend."

"Alright then, Colin. I have a few single friends. Are you interested in meeting them?"

"Stop, I'm not interested."

Patricia was a bit upset. She knew that Colin looked down on her education level and probably thought her friends weren't good enough either.

But she didn't dare voice her thoughts and changed the subject. "I just called Grandma. She asked me to look into the site selection for Fusion Dynamics Corporation as well."

Colin said, "I just checked out the sites this afternoon. Both are good. I'll tell Grandma later."

"Send me the details too."

"Okay."

While Colin was on the phone, Sophia continued eating in silence. Colin glanced at her, thinking of ending the call, but Patricia kept talking.

"I have friends here. I'll talk to you later." Colin frowned and hung up without waiting for Patricia's response.

Patricia was a bit angry about being hung up on.

Other people's brothers pampered their sisters, agreeing to all their requests and prioritizing them in everything, but Colin only nagged her on what to do and what not to do.

She had just said a few more words, and Colin had impatiently hung up.

Originally, she had a good impression of her handsome and outstanding brother and wanted to show him off to her friends when he returned.

But Colin was not cooperative at all.

She had told him in the morning about a gathering with her friends the next day and wanted him to accompany her, but Colin had refused.

Patricia felt quite defeated today and wished the Blackwoods would return soon. Then, she could proudly announce that she was the heiress of the eminent Blackwood family.

Thinking of that day, Patricia couldn't help but smile.

Halfway through the meal, Sophia received a call from Emma. "Daddy's not well."

Sophia asked. "What happened to him?"

"Daddy passed out."

Sophia was shocked. "I'll be right back."

After hanging up, Sophia immediately told Colin about the call. "Colin, Gabriel fainted. I need to go back right away."

"Alright, you go ahead."Colin was puzzled. 'How could Gabriel faint out of the blue? When did he become so weak?'

Sophia didn't tell Colin about the fire at Harbor Bay or her kidnapping. She hurriedly drove back to The Lancaster Villa.

The doctor had just finished examining Gabriel and was packing up to leave.

"Doctor, how is he?" Sophia asked anxiously as she walked in.

The kids were all gathered around the bed.

The doctor gave a complicated look at Gabriel, who laid there with his eyes closed.

"Mr. Lancaster's injuries haven't fully healed, and he probably hasn't rested enough lately, which led to the fainting. He just needs to rest well for a few days."

"Are you sure there's nothing else wrong?" Sophia was still worried.

"Positive."

"Thank you, doctor."

The doctor didn't even leave any medication, took his tools and left, not even leaving any medication behind..

Sophia came to the bedside, looking at Gabriel lying there with his eyes tightly shut.

"Mommy, will Daddy wake up?" Emma looked up.

"No."

"What?"

"What?" The three kids looked at Sophia in unison.

Sam, hearing Sophia's words, shook his head in fear and gestured, "What's wrong with Daddy? I want Daddy to wake up. Mommy, let's save Daddy."

Sophia picked Sam up. "Alright, I'll find a way to save him."

Sam leaned against Sophia, his soft and sweet-smelling little body making Sophia take a deep breath. Then she told Ethan, "Ethan, go get a basin of water."

Gabriel's eyelashes fluttered.

Emma looked puzzled. Seeing Sophia's serious expression, she felt a pang of anxiety.

Ethan quickly brought a basin of water.

Sophia looked at Emma and gently asked, "Emma, do you want Daddy to wake up?"

"Yes." Emma's little voice rang out firmly.

"Then pour the water on him."

Emma's eyes widened.

Ethan pressed his lips together, trying not to laugh.

The next second, Gabriel's eyes snapped open, and he sat up abruptly.

The scene was awkward for three seconds.

Gabriel looked at Sophia's stern face, unable to say a word. He was panicking inside.

He had been caught pretending to faint. What now?

He looked at the mischievous Emma, who took a step back and gave him a helpless look.

He then looked at Ethan, who was speechless.

Finally, he looked at Sam, who was pouting angrily.

Gabriel had deceived him!

Then, Gabriel's three kids all backed away!

"Ethan, Emma, Sam, do you want to sleep with me tonight?"

"I want to sleep with Mommy." Emma immediately threw herself into Sophia's arms.

Sophia took the three kids and left Gabriel's room.

Gabriel reached out, trying to salvage the situation. "Sophie, let me explain."

Sophia didn't look back but stopped at the door.

Gabriel was hopeful.

"Mr. Lancaster, have you ever heard the story of 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf'?"

Leaving him to think about those words, she walked out completely.

Gabriel sat on the bed.

She was angry!

Gabriel regretted it. The only way he could think of to get Sophia to come home was to use his health as an excuse.

He had indeed succeeded in making Sophia leave Jake and come home, but he had also angered her.

"Mommy, Daddy didn't mean it," Emma tried to speak up for Gabriel before bed.

Sophia gently pinched Emma's soft cheek. "Don't ever join him in deceiving me again, or I won't sleep with you anymore."

Emma hugged Sophia tightly. "I want Mommy to sleep with me."

The next morning, Sophia was barred from leaving by Gabriel.
