"Sophia, I can't give up any hope of finding you. If I don't get any trace of you from Jake, I'll desperately escape from there and continue searching for you until I find you."
Gabriel nuzzled from her shoulder blade to her collarbone, his warm breath brushing against her skin like an electric current.
Tonight, Sophia refused to share a bed with Gabriel. Ever since they had become intimate, Gabriel always found ways to make her blush with embarrassment.
For the sake of his health, Sophia resolutely lay on the hospital bed next door.
Before sleeping, Sophia declared, "If you dare to mess around in the middle of the night, I won't talk to you anymore."
Gabriel chuckled, "I promise to behave well."

The next day, they took a private jet back home.
When everyone was asleep, David noticed Gabriel was still awake and chatted with him.

"Mommy!" Emma burst into tears as soon as she saw Sophia.
Ethan and Sam couldn't hold back their tears either.
The three children hugged Sophia tightly and wouldn't let go.

Ethan said, "As long as Mommy is okay."
Sam added, "Don't be afraid, Mommy. Sam is here."
Emma said, "Mommy, don't leave us again. We'll protect you."
Jennifer helped Celeste out, and Betty wheeled Ruth over.
Celeste and Ruth were in tears.
"It's good to have you back."
Sophia looked up and saw that Celeste and Ruth had both lost weight and looked older.
She felt guilty for making them worry at their age.
During dinner, Celeste and Ruth kept putting food on Sophia's plate, and the three children followed suit. Soon, her bowl was full.
Seeing Sophia, Celeste felt better.
"Eat more, eat until you gain back the weight you lost," Celeste said eagerly.
Ruth smiled, "Yes, you need to recover, and Ethan, Sam, and Emma need to eat more too."
"Mommy, eat," Emma said, her eyes still red and swollen from crying.
"Alright, I'll eat."
Sophia helplessly picked up her chopsticks and started eating.
That night, the three children insisted on sleeping next to Sophia. Holding them, she felt very peaceful.
The next morning, Sophia and Ruth took the three children to visit Gabriel.
"Daddy."
The three children rushed over, but they were much calmer compared to seeing Sophia.
At least they didn't cry.

Ethan asked, "Daddy, were you beaten up like this?"

"Daddy is the greatest daddy. He got hurt protecting Mommy," Emma said seriously.
Ethan and Sam nodded in agreement.
Gabriel saw admiration in Ethan and Sam's eyes, which restored his fatherly pride.
The three children surrounded Gabriel's bed, inquiring about his health.
Their enthusiasm was a bit overwhelming for Gabriel.
