Chapter 730 Rising Step by Step

"Sophia, I can't give up any hope of finding you. If I don't get any trace of you from Jake, I'll desperately escape from there and continue searching for you until I find you."

Gabriel nuzzled from her shoulder blade to her collarbone, his warm breath brushing against her skin like an electric current.

Tonight, Sophia refused to share a bed with Gabriel. Ever since they had become intimate, Gabriel always found ways to make her blush with embarrassment.

For the sake of his health, Sophia resolutely lay on the hospital bed next door.

Before sleeping, Sophia declared, "If you dare to mess around in the middle of the night, I won't talk to you anymore."

Gabriel chuckled, "I promise to behave well."

Sophia turned to face him and closed her eyes.

A good night's sleep.

The next day, Gabriel learned that Owen had turned himself in.

Alex said, "The evidence we found has also been handed over to the police. All of Owen's men that could be caught have been arrested."

The local government had already wanted to arrest Owen, but he was so cunning that he never left any clues, leaving them helpless.

During Gabriel's surgery, he had Alex secretly investigate Owen's private dealings.

Jake repeatedly had Owen target his people and secretly make trouble, so Gabriel decided to crack down on Owen, Jake's right hand.

Unfortunately, Jake still managed to escape.

Owen's actions implicated many people, and Jake was somewhat affected too. However, Jake was no longer in Country M, and there was no evidence of the Phoenix Group's involvement.

"Even if the Phoenix Group is involved in something, they'll probably be protected," Gabriel said calmly.

Alex looked serious. Gabriel was right; the new chip released by the Phoenix Group could bring a significant breakthrough to the entire U.S. economy.

Alex gritted his teeth, "If our data hadn't been leaked, it would be the Lancaster Group in the spotlight now."

Due to the data leak, the relevant domestic departments also put a lot of pressure on Gabriel.

Gabriel pondered, "They won't be in the spotlight for long."

He was thinking about one thing.

Jake was Victor's designated heir. If they truly had a father-son bond, how could Victor allow Jake to use such ruthless tactics?

Unless Victor was merely using Jake's hatred for the Lancaster family.

Jake fought with Gabriel, and Victor reaped the benefits without effort.

Jake wasn't a fool; he would definitely retaliate against Victor.

After Alex finished his report, Sophia came in with a lunchbox.

"When are we going back home?" Sophia asked.

She missed their three children.

"Tomorrow," Gabriel replied.

With Owen's power eliminated, Jake was temporarily unable to return, and the Phoenix Group would soon have a lot on its plate, so the crisis here was resolved. Gabriel also wanted to return home as soon as possible.

The next day, they took a private jet back home.

When everyone was asleep, David noticed Gabriel was still awake and chatted with him.

"You need to be careful of Victor. He's insidious and might have more next move."

"Yes, thanks for the warning," Gabriel nodded seriously.

David and Gabriel talked a bit more before David also closed his eyes to sleep.

After this incident, he was very satisfied with Gabriel's performance.

Just the fact that Gabriel dared to risk his life to save Sophia showed that he truly loved her and was willing to sacrifice everything for her.

David felt a bit complicated, as if Gabriel had taken Sophia away from him.

He was very gratified, yet also felt a bit uneasy.

After getting off the plane, they split up. Colin and Sophia took Gabriel to the best local hospital, while David returned to the Blackwood Manor to report their safety.

Once Gabriel was settled in the hospital, Sophia initially wanted to stay with him.

Gabriel gently touched her face and said softly, "Go home and be with the kids. Get some rest and come back tomorrow."

Colin added, "Yes, the kids miss you a lot."

Sophia couldn't stop thinking about their three children, so she gave the nurse a few instructions and went home with Colin.

"Mommy!" Emma burst into tears as soon as she saw Sophia.

Ethan and Sam couldn't hold back their tears either.

The three children hugged Sophia tightly and wouldn't let go.

Emma was sobbing uncontrollably.

"Mommy, I don't want to talk to you anymore."

Sophia hugged the three children, gently nuzzling their heads with her chin.

"I'm sorry, Mommy made you worry."

Ethan said, "As long as Mommy is okay."

Sam added, "Don't be afraid, Mommy. Sam is here."

Emma said, "Mommy, don't leave us again. We'll protect you."

Jennifer helped Celeste out, and Betty wheeled Ruth over.

Celeste and Ruth were in tears.

"It's good to have you back."

Sophia looked up and saw that Celeste and Ruth had both lost weight and looked older.

She felt guilty for making them worry at their age.

During dinner, Celeste and Ruth kept putting food on Sophia's plate, and the three children followed suit. Soon, her bowl was full.

Seeing Sophia, Celeste felt better.

"Eat more, eat until you gain back the weight you lost," Celeste said eagerly.

Ruth smiled, "Yes, you need to recover, and Ethan, Sam, and Emma need to eat more too."

"Mommy, eat," Emma said, her eyes still red and swollen from crying.

"Alright, I'll eat."

Sophia helplessly picked up her chopsticks and started eating.

That night, the three children insisted on sleeping next to Sophia. Holding them, she felt very peaceful.

The next morning, Sophia and Ruth took the three children to visit Gabriel.

"Daddy."

The three children rushed over, but they were much calmer compared to seeing Sophia.

At least they didn't cry.

Gabriel felt a bit hurt and thought, 'What was going on?'

"Daddy, does it hurt? Let me blow on it for you," Emma said considerately.

Gabriel felt warm inside and patted Emma's little head, "It doesn't hurt."

Ethan asked, "Daddy, were you beaten up like this?"

Sam was also curious.

They didn't know about Gabriel's surgery.

"Sort of," Gabriel said awkwardly. Oh no, would his image be ruined in his children's eyes?

"Daddy is the greatest daddy. He got hurt protecting Mommy," Emma said seriously.

Ethan and Sam nodded in agreement.

Gabriel saw admiration in Ethan and Sam's eyes, which restored his fatherly pride.

The three children surrounded Gabriel's bed, inquiring about his health.

Their enthusiasm was a bit overwhelming for Gabriel.

He suddenly felt that he was very important in the family.
