Chapter 355 The One Who Saved Her

Among the noblewomen, they showered Linda with praise, yet harbored private disdain towards Mia in multiple ways.

Clearly, before Linda married Daniel, she was nothing, whereas Mia had once been a heiress of a prestigious family. She was evidently much nobler than Linda, yet she lived a life inferior to Linda's.

Mia felt very unbalanced in her heart.

"Mom, don't be sad. Let me tell you something happy," Daisy said, leaning coquettishly on Mia's shoulder.

"What is it?"

"I sent Caroline to the detention center."

Seeing Daisy so happy, Mia felt much better.

At least Daisy was still the only heiress of the Wolf family.

In the future, Daisy's share of the inheritance would only increase.

And when her son returned from studying abroad, perhaps the entire company would belong to him!

As for Linda's son, he was very stupid, not even one percent as good as her son.

Sophia rushed to the police station as soon as she received the call.

"The other party does not accept mediation and is now proceeding with legal action."

"Can I see Caroline?"

Half an hour later, Sophia met Caroline.

"Caroline, What exactly happened?"

Caroline's nature would never lead her to hit someone first, let alone cause serious consequences between two women.

Caroline was also very confused.

The occurrence occurred within the Watson Group, where Daisy accessed surveillance footage with Nicholas' backing. With Nicholas implicated, Caroline questioned her exit strategy from the police station.

"Sophia, I need a favor."

"Tell me," Sophia said anxiously.

"Help me take care of Lisa."

Caroline knew it was hard for Sophia to take care of three children, but she had no one else to turn to.

"Don't worry, I'll check on her every day. And I've hired a lawyer, and you'll be bailed out soon."

"Don't tell the children," Caroline instructed.

"Okay, I understand."

Time quickly ran out, and Caroline was taken away. Sophia walked out of the police station with a heavy heart.

She thought, 'If Nicholas was really involved, then Caroline was in danger.'

'How could I help Caroline?'

Sophia returned home and quickly composed herself.

"Mommy, I haven't seen Godmother in a long time," Emma said, approaching Sophia.

"Caroline has something to do and won't be back for a while. Go do your homework, sweetie."

"Okay."

Sophia went to the kitchen to cook, and the three children gathered to do their homework.

The kindergarten assignments were exceedingly basic and completed well in advance. Presently, they were immersed in tackling more intricate Olympiad mathematics challenges.

They were all very intelligent in their studies. Ethan selected some difficult problems for Sam, and Sam could solve them quickly, though his methods were not as simple as Ethan's.

Emma didn't like Olympiad math problems; she preferred studying games.

Tonight, Sam was responsible for accompanying Gabriel, while Ethan and Emma stayed with Sophia.

Before bed, Sophia called Ethan into the study.

"Ethan, Caroline is in trouble."

Ethan's heart skipped a beat, and he asked anxiously, "What happened to Godmother?"

"Ethan, I need your help."

"Okay."

Sophia took out a laptop for Ethan, and Ethan immediately understood what Sophia wanted him to do.

At the police station, Nicholas signed the bail agreement, and Caroline was brought out.

Seeing him, Caroline felt a complex emotion flash through her heart.

Paul cried sadly, "Caroline, we finally got you out. You have no idea how worried I was."

"Thank you," she said.

Nicholas sneered inwardly; it was clearly he who got Caroline out, yet she thanked Paul!

Paul looked her up and down, asking, "They didn't hit you, did they?"

"No."

The police officer interjected, "We ain't no mean folks; we ain't about to just go around hitting someone. You need a solid dose of civics education."

Paul scoffed. "Well, I got hit when I was taken in before."

"That's because you weren't behaving."

"Paul, let's go." Nicholas's icy voice cut in.

Paul instinctively held Caroline's hand. "Come on, Caroline, I'll take you to get something good to eat."

Nicholas's cold gaze bore into Paul's hand, holding Caroline's, but Paul, oblivious, happily led Caroline out of the police station.

Sharpe silently worried for Paul at that moment and then pushed Nicholas out.

Paul said, "Caroline, chill. You won't land in jail with Nicholas around. That video Daisy showed, where you apparently hit her? Totally doctored. She conveniently left out the part where she struck you first. And that injury report? Fake news.."

Caroline was astonished.

She had thought Nicholas supported Daisy, but now, at night, Nicholas came to bail her out and even brought the complete video.

She thought, 'What did Nicholas mean by this? Why was he doing this? '

'On one hand, he indulged Daisy, and on the other, he helped me.'

Nicholas got into the car and saw Paul still holding Caroline's hand. His face grew darker, and his gaze was piercing.

Gradually, Paul sensed a chill. He looked down at his hand and quickly let go.

Oh no, in his excitement, he had held Caroline's hand for so long. Nicholas would surely chop off his hand.

"Caroline, you go have supper with Nicholas. I have something to do, so I'll leave first."

Paul quickly opened the car door, jumped out, and slammed it shut.

"I'll go with you."

Sharpe stepped on the gas, and the car started. Caroline wanted to get out, but it was too late, so she had to sit back down.

How awkward.

Caroline didn't know how to face Nicholas or what to say.

Detained for eight long hours, Caroline braced herself for the worst, feeling utterly disheartened. Little did she expect that the unlikeliest savior, Nicholas, would come to her rescue.

"Where are we going?"

After a long silence, Caroline broke it. She had meant to ask why he came to save her, but the words turned into this question.

As soon as she spoke, her stomach growled with hunger. Caroline awkwardly covered her stomach.

Nicholas coldly instructed Sharpe, "To Harmony Gardens."

"Yes, sir."

Where was Harmony Gardens?

Caroline wanted to go home and said, "Take me home, please."

Nicholas ignored her.

Sharpe dared not speak either. Nicholas had been in a foul mood today; otherwise, it would be Charles by his side, not him.

Caroline silently turned to look out the window.

Harrison drove to the hospital and found it surrounded by reporters and fans, all trying to get in. The hospital and Noah's security were struggling to hold them back.

He couldn't drive in, so he parked outside.

After observing for a while, he took out his phone and called Gabriel.

"Gabriel, can I borrow a few of your bodyguards?"

About ten minutes later, several cars appeared outside the hospital, and a line of bodyguards emerged, orderly separating the crowd. Harrison made a dashing entrance.
