Chapter 401 Bring Her Back No Matter What

Nicholas clenched his jaw. No way was he letting Caroline slip away!

He, Caroline, and Josie were bound together for life!

'Even if I have to tie her up, Caroline's coming back to me!' he thought, his mind racing with wild ideas. Suddenly, he felt a surge of energy, like he'd been reborn.

His eyes burned with a crazed obsession.

Caroline was the only one for him.

Meanwhile, Caroline ducked into the rehab department's bathroom to collect herself. She admitted she hadn't completely gotten over Nicholas, which was why his words still cut so deep.

But she would never be his sidepiece.

She couldn't forget how Daisy had rubbed her face in it.

All Caroline wanted now was to get better, bring Josie close, and live a quiet life with her. No more messy relationships should bother her.

Caroline closed her eyes, memories flooding back.

When she was with Nicholas, she had no idea he was engaged. Later, while working as a violin tutor, she met Daisy, who shared her love for the violin. They became good friends.

Until the day she saw Daisy and Nicholas getting into the same fancy car. That's when she found out they were childhood sweethearts.

Nicholas tried to explain his relationship with Daisy, but he was also sleeping with her.

The day Caroline walked in on them in bed, she felt like she couldn't breathe, tears streaming down her face.

She wanted answers from Nicholas, but all she got was news of their engagement.

Daisy said the Watson family was against Caroline and Nicholas being together, and Nicholas went along with it, which was why he slept with Daisy.

Caroline didn't believe Daisy, but Nicholas never came to explain. He just vanished.

Finally, she sent a breakup text, cutting him off completely, and agreed to study abroad.

Not long after, she found out she was pregnant.

Those painful memories haunted Caroline for years. She opened her eyes, filled with determination.

She had to be strong for Josie's future.

After calming down, Caroline gave herself a pep talk.

That evening, Nicholas returned to the villa.

"Nicholas, you're back," Daisy said sweetly, pulling out his slippers and kneeling to change his shoes.

"Nicholas, lift your foot."

Nicholas glared at the maid.

"Why is she here?"

The maid trembled. "She said she's Josie's mom, and Josie called her mom, so I let her in."

'Isn't she Gabriel's wife?' the maid wondered. She was new and didn't know much about the Watson family.

"Get out!"

The maid froze, thinking Nicholas meant her.

"Nicholas, don't blame her. I..."

"You get out!" Nicholas's icy stare cut through Daisy.

Daisy stiffened.

"Nicholas." She felt hurt.

"Don't understand my words?"

"I'm your wife and Josie's mother. I..."

"Charles!"

Charles stepped forward and yanked Daisy up with one hand.

"Nicholas, are you seriously kicking me out?" Daisy screamed, stunned.

Nicholas's eyes were icy. Charles dragged Daisy out, ignoring her cries, which made her heart grow cold.

Charles was strong, and Daisy couldn't fight back. He hauled her out of the villa.

Once outside, Charles blocked the door with his tall frame.

"Ms. Wolf, you should leave. Mr. Watson's in a bad mood today."

"You..." Daisy wanted to curse him but held back. She looked at Charles weakly. "Do you know why Nicholas is upset?"

"He hasn't been happy since he got back from the hospital today."

Daisy thought, 'The hospital?'

'Nicholas must have gone to see Caroline!'

'Aragorn was discharged this morning to recover at home, so Nicholas couldn't have gone to see him.'

Lost in her thoughts, she missed the complex look in Charles' eyes.

Being kicked out by Nicholas made Daisy feel humiliating.

In the Watson family, with Aragorn and Gummidge's protection and Josie as leverage, Nicholas couldn't kick her out even if he didn't like her.

But here, Aragorn and Gummidge couldn't intervene, and Josie was now back with that witch Caroline. Nicholas's attitude was clear; he didn't acknowledge the wedding and didn't intend to let Daisyr see Josie.

Feeling very upset, Daisy returned to the Wolf family and cried to Mia.

Mia comforted her.

"It doesn't matter if Nicholas doesn't acknowledge it. Now the entire Watson family and everyone outside know you're his wife."

"As for Josie," Mia looked at Daisy's belly. "You can still have children. As long as you have Nicholas' child, he won't deny it, will he?"

Daisy thought of that time before the wedding when she and Nicholas didn't take any precautions, and she didn't take any contraceptives afterward.

Could she be pregnant this time?

Daisy touched her belly as if there was already a little life inside.

All her grievances disappeared in an instant.

As long as she had a son, her position in the Watson family would be more secure, and everything in the Watson family would belong to her son in the future.

After Daisy left, Nicholas found Josie in her room.

"Why are you hiding in here?"

Seeing Nicholas, Josie immediately felt safe and clung to his leg without saying a word.

"Don't like her?" Nicholas asked, referring to Daisy.

Josie just looked up. "I want mommy."

Nicholas picked her up.

"Your mommy's still recovering. How about we wait until she's better?"

"Okay."

Josie obediently leaned on Nicholas's shoulder. After a while, she patted his shoulder.

"Daddy, put me down."

She never dared to let Nicholas hold her for too long, fearing his leg would hurt.

Seeing the concern in Josie's eyes, Nicholas felt warmth in his heart and held her tighter.

From that day on, more security guards were added to the villa, and the maid learned her lesson, not daring to let anyone else in.

Velvet's fashion show ended perfectly, and Sophia successfully received a business card from an international show producer who intended to invite Velvet to an international show.

This meant Velvet had taken the first successful step.

After the celebration party, Sophia woke up late the next day and missed her appointment with Jake.

She hurried downstairs, where Jake was waiting for her.

"How long until the auction starts?" Sophia asked anxiously.

"Twenty minutes."

"Can we still make it?"

"Yes," Jake said confidently.
