Chapter 44 Objectives
Sophia looked appreciative and said, "Of course, Caroline has strong design abilities, and I admire her. I just feel that this style does not align with Flora's concept. It might bring in short-term profit for Flora, but in the long run, it will not be beneficial for the brand."
"These past few days I've looked at Flora's previous designs and gathered feedback from our loyal customers. Sixty percent of them expressed that Flora's current designs lack the traditional taste they originally purchased for. Instead, they ended up buying something that deviates from tradition."
As everyone listened to Sophia's words, they found them quite reasonable. Sophia walked up to the stage and transferred the contents from the USB drive onto the projector.
She continued to speak: " Please take a look at the changes in our clothing designs over the past two years." She deliberately prepared a comparison chart, instantly analyzing the design transformation.
"These are screenshots of evaluations from some of our old customers."
"I believe that Flora should not change its style. What needs to change are our designers."
After Sophia finished speaking, someone started clapping, and everyone followed the applause. Sophia was momentarily stunned. On the other hand, Kathy Caroline, had a cold gaze and an extremely rigid smile, although she joined in the applause.
"How about this?" Gabriel slowly spoke as the applause came to a halt. "Let's compete."
"Compete?" Sophia had a foreboding feeling. Whenever Gabriel spoke, it never meant something good.
He continued…"At next month's new product launch. I want each of you to showcase your own strengths. We'll see whose sales are higher, and we'll choose that person's approach in the future."
In all honesty, Sophia had experienced this kind of competition many times abroad. She had worked her way up to the manager position, leading a team by overcoming numerous challenges and obstacles. She wasn't afraid of the competition, but...
Sophia looked at Kathy Caroline with mixed emotions and cursed Gabriel silently in her heart.
There were too many limitations in a junior position. She was always being suppressed by those in higher positions. She needed this opportunity to shine, so she could design without obstruction in the future.
Otherwise, if Kathy Caroline continued to suppress her, how could she quickly boost Flora?
If possible, she hoping that she could work with Kathy Caroline after this competition. She was a worthy opponent.
After the meeting ended, Larry admired Sophia wholeheartedly.
"Sophia, if you guide me, I'll soar to success with you."
Facing Larry's playful smile, Sophia rolled her eyes and asked, "What can I do for you?" he answered, “Your courage is stronger than mine.”
This meeting had made Sophia steal the spotlight. The news about her competition with Kathy Caroline spread throughout the department and even the entire company. More and more people were excitedly anticipating this show, and the criticisms claiming that Sophia was overvaluing herself grew.
Sophia pretended not to hear any of it. She only had one objective:
“Huh?”
Upon hearing the familiar voice of her colleague, Fiona's face turned grim , and she quickly said, "It's nothing," then went into the restroom.
Sophia returned to her seat in a good mood, and Charlotte looked at her with concern.
Charlotte said…"Margaret wants to see you."
"Alright, thank you." Sophia got up to find Margaret.
As soon as she entered the room, Sophia could tell from Margaret's frown that she knew exactly why she was being called.
"Sophia, you're too impulsive." Margaret believed that since Sophia had just joined the company and had not yet found her footing, it was inappropriate for her to compete with Kathy Caroline.
In fact, Margaret was hoping that Sophia and Kathy Caroline could complement each other.
"I don't think I'm being impulsive, Margaret. Given the circumstances, you would see the results of the competition first." Sophia had no choice; she had her own goals to achieve.
Margaret sighed, "There's nothing I can do to help you. Take care of yourself. If you win the competition, I'll talk to the boss about promoting you to a higher position."
Sophia smiled, "Thank you, Margaret."
"Do you have time after work? Let's have a meal together." Margaret went on a business trip yesterday and didn't attend the meeting. She wanted to talk to Sophia about it last night when she found out, but she held it off until today.
"Tomorrow at noon, my treat."
"Great," said Gillmore.
