Chapter 446 That Was Amazing

Caroline almost got shot during a home invasion abroad, while Sophia nearly burned and was almost stabbed at home.

For a moment, both were speechless.

Then, they started analyzing who might be behind these attacks.

Sophia suspected Tiffany.

Caroline thought it might be the Watson or Wolf families.

However, without evidence, it was all just guesswork.

The cafe was nearly empty that morning. Sophia and Caroline were the only customers.

After finishing their coffee, they had discussed many things, both big and small.

"Caroline!" a voice growled.

They turned to see Daisy storming over, ready to slap Caroline. Caroline quickly slapped Daisy's hand away.

Daisy's hand stung.

"Caroline, you bitch, you broke your promise!"

"Who are you calling a bitch?" Sophia stepped beside Caroline, gently pulling her back.

"You two!" Daisy yelled, pointing at them with a trembling finger. "You two are bullying a pregnant woman."

Sophia pulled Caroline back a couple of steps.

"Don't cause trouble. We didn't touch you, and there's surveillance in here," she said.

Daisy got even angrier, feeling a faint pain in her chest and discomfort in her belly.

"Caroline, you promised you'd never come back after going abroad. Why are you back now?"

Caroline sneered. "I only promised to drop the lawsuit. You misunderstood. Besides, I came back because Nicholas forced me to. If I didn't return, he'd take Josie away.

"So blame Nicholas, not me."

Sophia added, "I saw the statement last night. You call that a wedding? Nicholas didn't even acknowledge it. You're just making a fool of yourself."

Sophia and Caroline stood united, leaving Daisy speechless. "Just you wait!"

"Wait for what? For you to harm Caroline again?" Sophia's eyes narrowed as she stared at Daisy.

Daisy was startled and took two steps back. "When did I ever say I'd do something bad? Don't slander me."

She had said last night she wanted Caroline dead but hadn't acted on it.

Daisy tried to stay calm, glaring at Sophia. "Don't think I'm afraid of you just because you have Gabriel. I have the Wolf and Watson families backing me."

She raised her chin defiantly.

"Can't win with words, so you resort to threats?" Sophia said.

Daisy's eyes widened. "I'm not threatening you. Don't twist the facts."

"You are," Sophia said. "Why mention the Wolf and Watson families? You're just relying on Caroline's lack of power. If Caroline gets hurt, it's on you, and I'll make sure you pay!"

Daisy felt she couldn't out-argue Sophia. Her eyes were bloodshot with anger and her lower lip trembled.

"Caroline, let's go. If she accuses us of pushing her, we won't be able to clear our names."

Sophia pulled Caroline away, leaving Daisy fuming with no chance to act.

Caroline hugged Sophia, rubbing against her affectionately. "Sophie, you're amazing. It felt so good to tell her off. I love you."

Sophia patted Caroline's head. "I'll always have your back. If she bullies you again, I'll help you pay her back twofold."

"Having you around is the best." Caroline linked arms with Sophia. "Let's go, I'll treat you to lunch."

Sophia checked the time. "I need to go to the hospital." She handed her car keys to Caroline. "Take my car. It's inconvenient without one."

"What about you?" Caroline asked.

"I'm staying at Lancaster Manor now. There are plenty of spare cars in the garage. Gabriel doesn't mind."

Caroline smiled, realizing Sophia had forgiven Gabriel. In the past, she wouldn't have wanted anything to do with him.

Caroline took the keys and offered to drive Sophia to the hospital.

On the way, Sophia suddenly called for an emergency stop.

Caroline pulled over. "What's wrong?"

Sophia squinted at a bakery in the distance.

A couple walked out, chatting happily. The man looked ordinary but fit, he was clearly someone who worked out. The woman had a big belly and a happy face.

"Do you know them?" Caroline asked.

Sophia took a photo. "Let's go."

As they drove, Sophia explained. The man was Dylan, and today must be his day off. The woman wasn't his wife.

Sophia had always felt something was off with Dylan. He usually worked diligently and seemed honest, making it hard to pinpoint any issues.

Sophia frowned. Dylan's honesty was just a facade.

"Are you going to send the photo to his wife?" Caroline asked, puzzled.

"No, Caroline, it's more complicated than that. Dylan has bigger issues than this."

Sophia suspected Dylan might be involved in more than just having a mistress. She had been keeping an eye on him since the incident where Sam was threatened. Besides suspecting Tiffany, she also suspected Dylan, who was the first to find Sam.

Initially, she thought she was being overly suspicious, but Dylan had easily let Tiffany into the ICU, and there was no one guarding Ruth's room.

Today, she saw Dylan with a woman who wasn't his wife, buying bread.

So, honesty was just Dylan's facade. She needed to investigate further.

Caroline said, "Send me the photo. I'll help you find out who she is."

"Okay." Sophia sent the photo to Caroline, who was better at identifying people.

Meanwhile, Daisy, feeling wronged by Sophia and Caroline, angrily drove to the Watson Group to find Nicholas.

However, since Nicholas had banned her from entering the Watson Group, she was stopped at the entrance again.
