Chapter 52 Unable to Win the Battle

Fiona took two days off and returned to work only after the online public opinion calmed down. However, at the company, she still received some strange looks and whispers. She made sure to remember each and every one of those people and when she had the chance that she would make them regret!

"Fiona, you're back," someone enthusiastically approached Fiona.

The fact that Fiona could still stay after what happened indicated that she indeed had a good relationship with Miss Foster; otherwise, she would have been fired long ago.

Since they did not receive much opportunity to interact with Miss Foster directly, the could only please Fiona in an indirect way

As soon as Fiona returned, everyone cared for her, and she felt much better inside. She secretly glanced at Sophia with satisfaction. Sophia was deep in thought, frowning, about to source materials. The release of the new product was getting closer, but the materials had not been found yet.

Larry and Charlotte had asked around for her, but no luck so far. If all else had failed, she would have to switch to another set.

"Oh, you haven't found the materials yet," Fiona walked over, strutting in high heels and swaying her waist. She was wearing a black lace dress that shaped her figure perfectly, and her make up was flawless. She looked pretty, except for the strong scent of cheap perfume emanating from her and her piercing jealous eyes.

Sophia didn't want to pay attention to her. Right now, she just wanted to focus on perfecting the new product and then deal with Fiona properly after winning the competition.

But Fiona didn't think so. She wouldn't miss any chance to mock Sophia.

"I have the materials. If you're willing to beg me, I might consider it," Fiona proudly lifted her head, chin held high.

Sophia continued to pretend not to hear.

"Sophia, if you don't beg me, you'll definitely lose this competition. There's not much of this fabric in the whole city." Seeing Sophia's indifference, Fiona became anxious.

She wanted everyone in the department to witness Sophia's plea of hopelessness, and then she would graciously offer her a small amount of fabric like a savior.

That way, not only would Sophia lose face, but the fabric she would get wouldn't even be enough to make a garment.

Annoying "mosquito" sounds kept buzzing in Sophia's ear, testing her patience. She put down what she was holding, waved her hand in front of her nose, and glanced sideways at Fiona.

"Really foul! Do you know that your words are as smelly as farting? I suggest you go to the hospital to get yourself checked out soon, in case one day you reach the point of no return."

"You!" Fiona was so angry that she gritted her teeth. "You're the foul one, and your whole family is too." Sophia retorted skillfully, instantly provoking Fiona’s desire to hit her: “Even if my whole family stinks, I would never be as uncultured as you, buzzing around people’s ears like a pesky fly

Sophia pointed her finger at the nearby surveillance cameras.

Fiona immediately dared not lay a hand on her.

She had just calmed down from the incident of hitting a child, and she couldn't afford to have a physical altercation with a colleague make headlines. Otherwise, this time, Miss Foster truly wouldn't be able to save her.

No worries, there's a long way to go. She will have plenty of opportunities to make Sophia's life difficult! For example, right now, Sophia has no way of getting the fabric to make the sample garments. Fiona gave Sophia a fierce glare before walking away. Sophia felt speechless.

Fiona always loves to pick on her, and she can never win against her. Getting involved with someone like Fiona is like eating a fly— it won't kill you, but it's enough to make you sick. Indeed, Lancaster doesn't favor her. How else would she encounter Fiona as soon as she walks in? It's all Gabriel's fault!

During lunch, Sophia inattentively ate her food while Larry and Charlotte sat at the same table. Seeing her lack of appetite, Larry put down his chopsticks. "Sophia, how about not making this outfit?" Sophia snapped out of her thoughts and shook her head, saying, "This is the design I'm most satisfied with currently." "But the new product launch is only two weeks away. Will you make it in time?" Charlotte asked worriedly. "I'm not sure." She wondered if it was possible to postpone the new product launch.

The thought flashed through her mind but was quickly dismissed. The company wouldn't casually postpone the launch. If she would not be able to present excellent work, she would lose. She would continue to be a junior, always suppressed by the seniors, never becoming the lead designer for Flora, let alone making Flora successful.

Suddenly, there was some commotion, and the three of them curiously looked over. Gabriel and Tiffany walked hand in hand into the cafeteria. "That's Mr. Lancaster and Miss Foster. They actually came to the cafeteria for a meal," Larry exclaimed in surprise.

Charlotte, being at the company the longest, enlightened them, "Mr. Lancaster often dines in the cafeteria, but he has an exclusive private room there, and the head chef personally delivers the meals every time." Indeed, they went straight upstairs and entered a private room. "They seem so loving," Larry looked at them with great yearning.

"You can have that too," Sophia said, amused. Larry vigorously shook his head and said, "No, no, not me. I don't have a girlfriend." "Then find one," Sophia replied. Larry frowned and said, "But who would be willing to be with me? I have nothing to offer."

Then, with a mischievous smile, he raised his eyebrows at Sophia and said, "Well, Sophia, how about settling for me?"

Sophia dropped a remark and got up, carrying her empty plate as she left. Larry sat there open - mouthed. It took him a while to mutter, "Sophia has actually given birth to a child. She looks so young."

Charlotte smiled and got up, leaving Larry alone in a state of confusion. As Gabriel went upstairs, he caught a glimpse of Sophia sitting downstairs having her meal. And that's where his peripheral vision ends...

I have never separated since then.

After the meeting that day, I didn't see this woman for a while.

She seems quite carefree and gets along well with her colleagues. Can she also have a good conversation with that man who always jokes around?

Sophia's taste is getting worse and worse.

"Gabriel, what do you feel like eating today?" Tiffany gently leaned on Gabriel's shoulder, looking like a helpless little bird.

Gabriel rarely gets so intimate with her in front of others, and today is the first time, so Tiffany is especially happy in her heart.

"Whatever." Gabriel withdrew his attention, calmly pulled his hand away from Tiffany's grip, and said solemnly, "Let's be more cautious outside."

Tiffany's joy froze instantly, then shattered and dissipated.

She thought Gabriel was going to make an exception and be more intimate with her in front of others.

...

Sophia finished making the samples for the other two new designs. This time, she made sure to have enough fabric, even if Fiona damaged a few samples, she could redo them.

It's just that one piece... no matter how she looks at it, she can't repair it, she can only remake it.

In fact, apart from the unachievable solution of postponing the release of the new designs, there is another way and that is to ask Gabriel for help, but she could not go to Gabriel.

"Miss Kelly, Margaret is looking for you."

Sophia acknowledged and then went to Margaret's office.

...

Sam thought it would take some time before he could see Ethan and Emma again, but they reunited sooner than he expected.
