Chapter 74 Mommy is Clumsy

Ethan and Emma suddenly found out about their older brother/younger brother and it was definitely hard for them to accept.

After all, having one more person to compete with for mommy's attention, they didn't know how things would turn out.

So, Sophia decided to take it slow and gently prepare them.

"Mommy has a friend whose child is sick. He is the same age as you but he can't speak and is very shy. He is so pitiful because he doesn't have a mommy. What do you think about that?"

Ethan chuckled inside.

Mommy was talking about Sam.
He and Emma had already known about Sam's identity, but it seemed like mommy wasn't planning on telling them just yet.

He suddenly found it amusing and Ethan and Emma, in sync, showed sympathetic expressions as mommy spoke.

"He's really pitiful," Emma sighed.

"So, mommy will cook some food for him every day and let him taste mommy's cooking. You are both kind children, so you shouldn't mind if mommy takes care of another child, right?"

Ethan hesitated for a moment before saying, "Seeing as he doesn't have a mommy, I guess I can reluctantly share my mommy with him."

"Ethan is such a good boy," Sophia kissed his forehead.

Emma immediately became unhappy, "I want a kiss too, and I'm also willing to share."

"Emma is a good girl too," Sophia kissed her and also pinched her cute little cheek.

"Mommy will go to the hospital to see him. You two behave and eat your meal properly, take a bath, and go to bed without waiting for mommy."

Ethan and Emma said in unison, "We know, mommy, be careful on the way."

As soon as Sophia left, Emma burst out laughing, holding her stomach.

"Mommy is so clueless. She didn't realize that we already knew."

It's not surprising that Sophia was afraid of them feeling jealous.

When they were in M country, there was a child next door who fell and cried miserably, but no parents noticed.

Sophia happened to see it, so she picked him up, comforted him, and personally treated his wounds.

As a result, Ethan and Emma felt like mommy was being taken away from them and they threw a fit.

They didn't have a daddy and often faced bullying in M country, so they were more sensitive than children from complete families.

But as they grew older, they were not as sensitive and scared as before.

Sophia urged the driver to go faster, but unfortunately, they encountered rush hour traffic, and several sections of the road were congested.

When they were about one kilometer away from the hospital, Sophia decisively paid the fare and got out of the car to walk.

At the speed this traffic was moving, walking would be faster.

Sophia walked quickly, while Gabriel finished typing the last line on his computer and sent the email. He closed the laptop and looked at the road, frowning.

Hmm?

Gabriel stared at Sophia, who was walking briskly on the sidewalk outside.

It was now the season of shorter days and longer nights, and darkness had already fallen at this time.

Sophia was dressed in a casual suit, her thick black hair partly tied up and partly let loose. The breeze brushed her cheeks as she picked up the pace.

The fine strands of hair revealed her delicate and beautiful profile, her anxious expression showing no trace of concealment.

The warm yellow street lamp illuminated her as if casting a warm glow, which seemed to fall upon Gabriel's heart.

His heart stirred slightly, somehow prompting him to push the door open and step down.

"Boss," Alex called him with a puzzled tone.

"I'll walk over," Gabriel replied, closing the car door.

With his long legs, he strode forward with each step surpassing two of Sophia's.

Alex looked at the congested road helplessly.

Sophia, focused on not letting Sam go hungry, almost ran.

When she turned the corner to enter the hospital, she didn't notice the electric bike speeding towards her due to the dim light.
In the nick of time, she instinctively held the thermal lunchbox close to her chest.

Her arm was suddenly grabbed, tightly like a vice.

With a spin, she fell into a solid embrace, her nose hitting something as hard as a wall.

"Mmm." Sophia groaned in pain, but quickly realized, "Thank you..."

Before Sophia could finish her sentence, upon seeing Gabriel's cold and stern face, she choked up.

Gabriel glanced indifferently at her, let go, and took a step back, keeping a distance.

However, an inexplicable sadness inexplicably emerged in his heart.

Gabriel frowned lightly, his voice colder than the winter chill.

"Your eyes are different from your mouth."

Sophia rubbed her nose.

Since Gabriel saved her, she reluctantly refrained from confronting him, but she didn't understand what he meant.

Turning around, Gabriel walked towards the hospital, his voice sounding chilling.

"Remember to share some of your mouth's fierceness with the eyes next time, or you won't be as fortunate to run into me."

Sophia regretted and retracted her previous thoughts.

So, what if he saved her this time? He was still a despicable man!

Besides, this one time couldn't compensate for the harm he caused her in the past.

Sophia suddenly felt unlucky for being saved by him.

She followed Gabriel with the thermal lunchbox in her arms.

Walking ahead, Gabriel's furrowed eyebrows relaxed, and there was a faint upturn at the corners of his mouth.

Betty persuaded Mrs. Lancaster, who left ten minutes ago, but Tiffany dared not be in Mrs. Lancaster's presence, so she hadn't arrived yet.
In the ward, only the nurse was on duty.

Gabriel had actually left early, but encountered traffic on the way, delaying him by ten minutes or so.

Mrs. Lancaster missed Sophia like this, and to this day, she still doesn't know that Sophia is alive.

Gabriel either forgot or didn't mention it.

"Sam~" Sophia quickened her pace and bypassed Gabriel as soon as she entered the ward, rushing to Sam's bedside with a radiant smile. "Missed me?"

Sam wanted to say that he did. But he was being a little prideful and didn't express it at all.

Sophia took out the thermal lunch box and opened it layer by layer.

"This was personally made by Auntie for you. Here, have some soup first."

Tiffany wasn't here today, and even the air felt fresher.

Sophia had specially prepared a straw for Sam to drink with.

Gabriel had originally prepared the meal, but he forgot to bring it when he got off the car.

A tinge of annoyance flashed in his eyes.

He could only watch as Sophia took care of Sam's meal.

He intentionally looked at the food prepared by Sophia.

This woman was considerate, making dishes that were suitable for Sam to eat now.

The aroma filled the ward, and even he felt a bit hungry.

He didn't expect this woman to be such a good cook.

Sam seemed to enjoy the food. He drank half a bowl of soup and ate a good amount of rice.

Fortunately, Sophia was mindful of his recovering stomach and didn't let him eat too much.

"Do you like Auntie's cooking?" Sophia gently looked at Sam.

Sam nodded, once again envying Ethan and Emma.

"Then Auntie will come to bring you food again tomorrow."

Having another chance to see Sam, Sophia couldn't be happier.

She didn't even realize how absorbed she was in cooking.

They had just finished eating, and Sam was already looking forward to tomorrow.

There was still plenty left in the lunch box.

Sam heard another rumbling sound.

This time, after glancing at Daddy, he looked at Sophia.
