Chapter 430 You Were So Lucky

Sharpe tailed the private jet to Country Y. After setting things up, Nicholas decided to personally take Charles to Country M.

He was worried about Caroline and Josie, so he wanted them to come along. Once Charles was settled, they'd head back home.

Caroline didn't object.

Since they agreed, she was all in.

Caroline had packed her stuff, but Nicholas' things were still scattered.

In the morning, as Nicholas was leaving, Sharpe told Caroline, "Ms. Clark, we're flying this afternoon. Mr. Waston's stuff isn't packed yet. Can you help?"

Caroline felt like a nanny but agreed, "Okay."

She figured Nicholas didn't have much to pack. He usually traveled light, fitting everything into one bag.

Sure enough, in Nicholas' room, most of his daily items were new and didn't need packing. He only had three sets of clothes and some documents.

Caroline found a suitcase and packed everything.

Hearing noise outside, Caroline stepped out.

"Caroline, why are you coming out of Nicholas' room?" Paul teased with a grin.

Caroline rolled her eyes. "Sharpe asked me to pack Nicholas' luggage. We're leaving this afternoon."

A big boy with a bruised face pointed at Caroline. "You're the woman who stole Daisy's husband!"

Paul slapped his hand down. "Don't point at Caroline."

Clayton looked hurt. "Paul, I'm still injured."

Clayton's face was a mess, his once handsome features now hard to look at.

"I've never seen anyone as weak as you. You got beat up. Let Caroline apply some medicine for you," Paul said, disappointed.

Clayton, who looked up to Paul, jumped at the idea. "I don't want her to. She stole Daisy's husband. Paul, why are you still close to her and letting her stay here?"

Paul warned, "Keep talking nonsense, and I'll kick you out."

Clayton shut up but refused Caroline's help.

Caroline rolled her eyes. "Do you think I want to help you?"

She went to Josie's room to practice violin with her.

From their chat, Caroline learned the boy was Daisy's brother.

Paul tossed the medicine box to Clayton. "You drove away the help. Do it yourself."

Clayton whined, "I have injuries on my back too."

"Do it yourself or go to the hospital."

"Can't you help?" Clayton pouted.

"No."

Clayton tried to treat his face wounds in the mirror, then took off his shirt, revealing a bruised back. The injuries were bad but not bone-deep, though they hurt.

He struggled to reach his back with a cotton swab.

Just then, Caroline walked out.

Clayton quickly covered himself, startled.

Caroline was also taken aback and paused for a moment.

As she was staring Clayton, Clayton's ears turned red. "What are you looking at?" he snapped, trying to sound tough.

Caroline rolled her eyes. "You're not even fully grown. Why would I be interested?"

Clayton gritted his teeth. "I'm twenty years old. I'm fully developed!"

Caroline couldn't help but laugh. If he weren't Daisy's brother, she'd find him cute.

In the kitchen, she saw Clayton struggling with his back wounds, frustrated, and throwing the cotton swab on the ground. "I'm done. Even the cotton swab hates me."

Feeling a sudden urge to help, Caroline walked over and picked up the medicinal oil. "Lie down."

Clayton quickly covered himself with his shirt, looking tormented.

"If you don't want to, forget it," Caroline said, putting down the oil.

Clayton quickly lay down. Caroline smiled, poured some oil into her palm, and rubbed it on his back. The next second, Clayton screamed in pain.

Josie and Paul rushed out.

"It hurts! Are you taking revenge for Daisy? Stop!" Clayton yelled, trying to get up.

Paul pressed him down. "Stay still. Caroline doesn't usually help people. You're lucky."

Clayton's pain turned to numbness, then a cool, comfortable feeling. Half an hour later, he put on his shirt and thanked Caroline, who just ignored him.

Lisa had preprared the lunch with Caroline helping. Paul and Clayton joined them. Clayton kept glancing at Caroline, feeling uneasy. If Daisy found out about this, she'd be furious. But Caroline had just helped him, so he decided to pretend he hadn't seen her.

He felt a strange familiarity with Caroline. Maybe it was because she looked like a celebrity.

"Stop staring. Caroline belongs to Nicholas," Paul said, knocking Clayton on the head.

Clayton protested. "I'm not staring. Besides, Nicholas and Daisy are a pair."

"Ask Daisy if Nicholas likes her."

"He will eventually," Clayton muttered. He couldn't understand why Paul and Nicholas didn't like Daisy. She was beautiful and had a good personality.

In the afternoon, Nicholas, Caroline, and the others flew to Country M.

Meanwhile, in City B, Daniel was furious. "What happened to Clayton this time?" Linda asked, worried.

"He seriously injured the principal's son."

"What!"

Every time Daniel talked about Clayton, he wished he had never been born.

Michael and Clayton were both Wolf family descendants. Michael was excellent, smart, and sensible, often receiving scholarships. But Clayton liked to fight, skip classes, and had the worst grades.
