Chapter 128 Quite Resembling Grandma
Colin listened quietly and once Sophia finished speaking, he asked, "Do you have the medical records?"
Medical records?
Sophia's voice lowered a notch, "The child lives with his father, and all the medical records are with him. Can I show them to you tomorrow?"
Colin nodded, "Okay."
Caroline noticed a slight change in Colin's attitude and discreetly signaled to Sophia, indicating that Colin agreeing to see the medical records meant he agreed to diagnose Sam.
Sophia was ecstatic inside. She suddenly didn't want to wait until tomorrow and decided to ask Gabriel for Sam's medical records in a little while.
She had thought it would take some effort to persuade Colin. Since yesterday, she had been mentally preparing herself and even prepared a particularly moving speech, but it turned out to be unnecessary. Colin agreed right away.
She was a bit puzzled but dared not ask Colin why he agreed so quickly. What if he got upset and refused to see the records?
Sophia suppressed her excitement.
At noon, Caroline and Sophia treated Colin to the local specialty cuisine. Although Colin was proud, he didn't put on airs in front of people he liked. He was easygoing and ate whatever Sophia recommended, without any dietary restrictions.
Sophia always felt that Colin's gaze on her was a bit strange, but couldn't quite put her finger on it.
To show their sincerity, the two sisters personally escorted Colin to the hotel.
"After you receive the medical records, come to the hotel to find me tomorrow night. I won't have time during the day."
Sophia immediately agreed, "Okay, take good rest."
Colin nodded, bid farewell with a nod to Caroline, and left.
The two sisters hugged each other excitedly after he left.
"He agreed, he agreed! Sophia, with him helping Sam, Sam will surely recover quickly," Caroline was genuinely happy for her best friend.
"I'll go find Gabriel for the medical records now."
"Yes, go quickly."
Sophia got in a taxi and called Gabriel.
Gabriel hurriedly rushed to the restaurant. He had planned to personally pick up Colin from the airport, but something more important came up last minute. Tiffany volunteered to pick him up, and once he finished his tasks, he hurried to meet Tiffany at the restaurant.
However, when he arrived at the restaurant and waited for a while, only Tiffany showed up.
"Gabriel, I couldn't find Colin," Tiffany walked up to Gabriel with a pitiful look, then lowered her head as if she had done something wrong, "I had already met Colin, and he seemed interested in coming with me, but unexpectedly, Sophia suddenly appeared."
Gabriel remained silent, listening to her continue.
"She went to pick him up too, and she had a friend who knew Colin, so Colin went with them."
"I'm sorry, it's my fault," Tiffany added, feeling guilty.
Gabriel didn't say anything in response.
"Tiffany held Gabriel's sleeve gently, looking pitiful. She was implying that Colin didn't go with her because he knew Sophia's friends and chose to go with them instead. Gabriel had a feeling that he might not see Colin today, but he still held onto a glimmer of hope. He wouldn't blame Tiffany since it was his own fault for not going himself.
However,... he never expected that Sophia would also know that Colin came to Z country today and went to pick him up. Was she doing it for Sam too? Since they were already at the restaurant, Gabriel decided to let Tiffany stay and have a meal together before leaving. He had Alex find out the hotel where Colin was staying and planned to visit him. At this moment, Sophia called and asked him for Sam's medical records. Gabriel thought she wanted the records for Colin, so without considering it much, he agreed. 'Okay, I'll have someone retrieve it and the company will give it to you later.' Gabriel wouldn't argue with Sophia about this matter for the sake of Sam. Sophia hesitated for a moment, then simply replied 'Okay' before hanging up the phone.
She thought that she would have to get angry to obtain the medical records, but she never expected that Gabriel would agree so readily. It felt like there was something strange happening. At four o'clock in the afternoon, Sophia successfully obtained the medical records. She couldn't wait to deliver them to Colin, but then she thought that Colin had just arrived in City B and needed to rest and adjust to the time difference. In order to avoid disturbing his rest and potentially jeopardizing his willingness to let Sam be treated, Sophia had to hold back.
When Colin returned to the hotel, he didn't rest, but instead worked on his computer. It was almost dusk when he made a call home. 'Yeah, I'll go visit tomorrow. After all these years, I finally have some news. I have a feeling that this time won't be in vain.' 'Oh, by the way, I met someone today who looks a lot like Grandma.'
This visit to City B was for an important matter, treating patients was completely outside his plans. When Caroline contacted him about picking him up, he thought Caroline might want to introduce a patient for him. He didn't refuse, but he didn't plan to see the patient either. But after seeing Sophia, he changed his mind. Sophia caught his attention, and it wouldn't hurt to see a patient as long as it didn't interfere with his main task.
The doorbell rang and Colin thought it was the food delivery, so he hung up and went to open the door. 'Mr. Colin.' Tiffany stood outside with a smile on her face, holding some gifts in her hand. Colin put on his signature smile and stood at the entrance, not planning to let Tiffany in. 'Miss Foster, I think I made it quite clear that I'm here
"I have personal matters to attend to and don't plan on seeing a doctor," said Tiffany as she handed over the gift. "Mr. Colin, why don't you take a look and see if you are satisfied with the gift?"
Colin accepted it and took out an exquisite jewelry box from the bag. As he opened it, a sparkling dove egg necklace caught his eye.
Wow, quite a generous gift.
He closed the lid, put it back in the bag, and returned it to Tiffany.
"Not satisfied," he remarked.
Tiffany's smile froze on her face.
This dove egg necklace was worth millions, and she thought it showed sufficient sincerity. But this man still wasn't content. His appetite was really something.
"Well, what if I add a blank check with no amount filled in?" Tiffany pulled out a blank check.
"I don't need money," Colin replied.
Tiffany's expression gradually soured, but she suppressed it, trying to maintain a smile on her face.
"Well then, Mr. Colin, when will you have time? Since you are in town, we should properly entertain you and invite you to dinner."
"Let's discuss it tomorrow."
He was currently tired and hungry, longing to have his meal and get a good rest.
Tiffany wanted to say something more, but a waiter pushed a food cart over. Colin asked the waiter to bring it in and then simply closed the door without even considering Tiffany, who was still standing outside.
Tiffany was infuriated.
If it wasn't for wanting to impress Gabriel, she wouldn't have bothered coming here and facing such a cold shoulder.
Tiffany's eyes gradually darkened. If she couldn't bribe Colin, then she couldn't let him see Sam for treatment!
