Chapter 78 Arrogance to This Degree

Sophia successfully leveled up twice and was directly appointed by Gabriel in the meeting as Flora's senior designer.

From now on, she would be leading all of Flora's designs.

Kathy Caroline didn't know how she managed to leave the conference room.
Her professional career had always been smooth sailing, and this was the first time she experienced such a huge humiliation.

Everyone, including herself, thought she had already won the competition, but unexpectedly, she lost.

Her self-esteem felt like it had been trampled on the ground.

Sophia glanced at Kathy Caroline, not knowing what to say and not wanting to say anything.

Forget it.

She walked past Kathy Caroline.

"You must be pleased with yourself," she suddenly heard Kathy Caroline's voice.

Sophia stopped in her tracks and looked at her in confusion, asking, "What did you say?"

Taking a deep breath, Kathy Caroline quickly composed herself and smiled at Sophia, saying, "Congratulations."

"Thank you," Sophia replied.

"You won the competition and leveled up twice. Shouldn't we celebrate with a treat?" Kathy Caroline said playfully.

Seeing that Kathy Caroline didn't seem to care about winning or losing, Sophia's confusion grew even bigger.

Was the one who had been showing superiority really Kathy Caroline?

The changes before and after were too fast.

"There's nothing worth celebrating, but if there's a chance in the future, I'll definitely treat you," Sophia responded.

She wasn't acquainted with anyone besides Larry and Charlotte, so if there were to be any celebratory treat, she would only invite Larry and Charlotte.

Kathy Caroline nodded. "Let's work together well and make Flora a success."

Sophia smiled. "Alright."

She suddenly realized that she couldn't see through Kathy Caroline.
However, nobody wanted more enemies, so since Kathy Caroline was magnanimous, she didn't need to take it too seriously.

Back at her seat, Sophia saw Fiona standing with her arms crossed, looking like she was waiting to witness a show.

"Sophia, did you cry when you lost?" Fiona chuckled mischievously.

Sophia responded coldly, "I'm sorry to disappoint you."

Seeing Sophia's icy demeanor without a hint of satisfaction, Fiona thought she had lost and became even more excited.

She blocked Sophia from returning to her seat.

"Move out of the way!" Sophia fiercely glared at her; her aura akin to an unsheathed sword.

Fiona trembled all over and took a step back in surprise.

"You lost, so what's with being mean to me? It's not like I made you lose!" Fiona loudly complained, becoming irritated.

The entire office heard her sharp voice.

Sophia really didn't want to talk to this idiot.

But being harassed by an idiot was also annoying.

"Who said I lost?" Sophia gave her a casual glance.

"And even if I did lose, so what? What do you care?" she retorted.

Fiona's annoyance could be heard in her raised voice.

"Do I have to leave? Unfortunately, you don't have the qualification," Fiona smirked.

"I may not have the qualification, but Lancaster never keeps useless people," Fiona boasted.

"Margaret and Mr. Lancaster didn't say anything. Who do you think you are?"

"Of course, I am..."

Fiona felt a pang of nervousness as Margaret's gaze bore into her.

She almost blurted out that she considered herself something.

Luckily, she reacted in time.

Her embarrassment turned into anger.

"Sophia, you're just a junior. Do you think you can get away with treating me like this? Believe me, I can make sure you won't survive in this company!" Fiona warned menacingly.

"Who do you want to make leave?"

A clear and severe voice came through, making Fiona freeze in place.

She turned around, her facial expression changing quickly to a sycophantic and guilty smile.

"Margaret, I didn't say anything. You misunderstood."

Margaret approached without expression on her face.

She had just come back from the restroom and witnessed the commotion.

Although others seemed to be working, they were all paying attention to what was happening here.

Then she heard Fiona's shrill voice.

Margaret had long known about Fiona's bullying of junior designers in the design department, but she had been putting up with it because of Fiona's connection with Miss Foster.

Besides, Fiona did possess some design skills.

She just hadn't expected Fiona to be so arrogant.

She really didn't know how Miss Foster became friends with her.

"Sophia, you are now a senior designer and can have a separate office space. Tomorrow, I will arrange for you to have one," Margaret said.

Their current office space was shared by several people and was small, without any separate areas. But senior designers had their own spacious spaces.

"What senior designer? Margaret, did you say she is now a senior designer?" Fiona screamed.

Margaret frowned, "Are you afraid that others won't hear you speaking?"
Fiona pouted, feeling wronged.

Margaret took the opportunity to announce to everyone.

"Just in the recent meeting, Mr. Lancaster himself announced that from now on, Sophia will be the senior designer for Flora, responsible for all of Flora's designs."

Everyone sighed in amazement.

She was promoted two levels in a row!

It seemed like a huge blow to Fiona.

"Margaret, are you serious?"

Margaret impatiently replied, "If you don't believe it, go ask Mr. Lancaster."

After speaking, she smiled and patted Sophia's shoulder.

"Do your best."

"Yes."

Of course, Sophia would do her best.

This competition was a crucial step for her, and the next step would be the spring collection.

In order to revive Flora, Sophia planned to bring the slacker Larry back to his senses.

Larry had some design talent, after all.

It was another graduate from a top design institute, and if he didn't have some real skills, how could he have passed all the rigorous tests to join Lancaster?

But it was just that he was too lazy, too fond of slacking off.

Today, Sophia specially made two dishes that the kids loved: braised fish and chestnut roasted chicken.

Smelling the delicious dishes, Emma couldn't wait and hopped onto the chair.

"Mommy, is today a special day?" Ethan tilted his head and asked cutely.

"Mommy won a competition today and got promoted, so we're celebrating," Sophia said with a big smile.

"Wow, congratulations, Mommy! Mommy is amazing!" Emma applauded, feeling incredibly proud of her mom.

Ethan thought, it would be great if Sam were here right now.

Sophia had the same thought in her mind.

"Mommy, can we go to our classmate's house to play this weekend?" Ethan thought of something and quickly spoke while Mommy was happy.

"Hmm? You have your extracurricular classes."

"We want to go and play," Emma bit her chopsticks.

"Alright, I'll ask for you to be excused."

Sophia felt helpless and asked about their classmates' family situations.

Of course, Ethan couldn't tell the truth and had already come up with a story with Emma.

Sam had promised to bring Ethan and Emma home to play, and he was now telling his secret to his great-grandmother.

"Oh? Our Sam has made a friend? Is he bringing a friend home this weekend?" Mrs. Lancaster almost thought she had misheard.

After all these years, her great-grandson had finally made a friend.

Because of his illness, he didn't like to be around people much, and the other kids didn't like to approach him either.

As a result, he became lonelier and lonelier, which saddened her.

To suddenly hear that her great-grandson had made a friend, Mrs. Lancaster was both surprised and worried.
