Chapter 14: Good Riddance, Scumbag
Sophia had no idea what Vincent was thinking. After having a few drinks last night and feeling a bit intoxicated, as well as the late hour making it inconvenient to take the two sleeping babies to a hotel, she could only temporarily stay for one night.
After washing the dishes, Sophia went to pack the kids' things.
"Mommy, where are we going?" Emma came over to help.
Ethan silently folded the clothes.
"Mommy is taking you to a hotel, and in a few days, we will go back to Country M," she wanted to quickly resolve the conflict between her and Gabriel, lest things escalate.
"That's great! Does it mean that mommy will take us out to play these days? I've never been to Country Z before," Emma was curious about the place and really wanted to go out and play.
"Mommy is here for business, so there might not be much time to take you out to play, but I promise that whenever I have free time, I will take you to eat delicious food," Sophia reassured her.
Emma pouted, "Okay."
After Sophia finished packing, the doorbell rang. Could it be that Vincent forgot something?
She glanced through the peephole and her expression changed. Standing outside the door was Gabriel. She decided to pretend she wasn't there.
But after a while, she received a message on her phone.
"I know you are in there. Either you come out, or I'll find a way to get in myself."
Damn it!
Sophia was so angry that she almost smashed her phone. What a shameless man! After taking a deep breath, Sophia turned and looked at Ethan and Emma tenderly.
"Ethan, Emma, be good and stay at godfather's house. Mommy is going out for a while, but will be back soon."
Emma was unhappy, pouting her small mouth, while Ethan obediently nodded.
"Don't worry, mommy, I will be good."
Emma reluctantly said, "I will be good too."
After comforting the two babies, Sophia went out.
Gabriel was waiting downstairs and when he saw Sophia come out obediently, he coldly snorted, "Get in the car."
Reluctantly, Sophia got into the back seat.
"I am not your driver," came Gabriel's cold voice.
Sophia rolled her eyes, "Well, sorry, I find your co-pilot seat disgusting."
"You!"
Gabriel's heart almost skipped a beat. He clenched the steering wheel tightly, took a few deep breaths, slowly suppressed his anger, and then started the car.
Throughout the journey, his face looked unpleasant, while Sophia turned her head and looked out of the car window. The places the car passed were both familiar and unfamiliar to her.
She had grown up here, and every street and alley were extremely familiar to her, but after five years, there were noticeable changes.
Originally a third-tier city, B City's economy had been rapidly elevated due to the rise of Lancaster Group, becoming a new first-tier city, and Gabriel had become the richest man in the country. The Lancaster Building had also become a landmark of the city.
Sophia looked at Caroline Tower towering in the distance, lost in her thoughts.
Gabriel excluding careful consideration, does he want to take me to the Lancaster Group.
What exactly is he up to? Sophia wondered.
Soon, the car passed the Lancaster Group. Sophia opened her mouth to ask, but in the end, she held back and decided to wait and see.
After another ten minutes or so, they arrived at a kindergarten. Sophia was full of questions, wondering why they came to a kindergarten.
Could it be... that he knows about Ethan and Emma?
Sophia's guard went up instantly, and she started thinking about how to make Gabriel give up Ethan and Emma.
The children in the kindergarten were having classes. Gabriel walked silently towards the teaching building, while Sophia followed behind with a furrowed brow.
"What are we doing here?" she decided to take the initiative and ask. Ignoring her question, Gabriel continued walking with long and steady steps. Sophia could hardly keep up, so she stopped following and walked on her own, feeling more comfortable.
At that moment, Gabriel suddenly stopped. Sophia wasn't paying attention and almost bumped into his back. He turned around, a cold expression on his face, and pursed his thin lips. His voice, though magnetic and pleasant, carried a hint of coldness.
"Sophia, it's time for you to atone.”
Another atonement! Sophia was about to argue back when a teacher walked over, leading a little boy by the hand.
When Sophia saw the little boy, her face was filled with shock. He... was Gabriel and Tiffany's son?
They already have such a big son!
"Daddy," Sam gestured, his little red mouth tightly closed, his eyes as dark as obsidian, completely inheriting Gabriel's looks. When he saw Gabriel, his eyes shimmered with joy.
Gabriel lifted Sam up, and his usual icy face seemed to melt, revealing a gentle expression reminiscent of water.
"Sorry, I was busy for two days after coming back and only now do I have time to see you," Gabriel showed a little remorse.
Sam gestured with his hands, "It's okay, I don't blame Daddy. Can Daddy have a meal with me today?"
"Of course." Was Gabriel’s soft reply.
Sam's mouth lifted in happiness, and in passing, he glanced at Sophia, curious about the unfamiliar woman by his dad's side.
"Daddy, who is she?"
Sophia felt annoyed. Did Gabriel bring her here just to meet his son with Tiffany?
Looking at the boy who was about the same age as Ethan, Sophia felt nothing but anger in her heart.
According to the timeline, Tiffany must have been pregnant at the same time as her! At that time, Gabriel hadn't divorced her yet!
Scum! Go to hell! Sophia cursed inwardly.
Sophia's angry gaze met Sam's clear eyes, and suddenly, it was extinguished like a splash of water.
She only heard Gabriel explaining to Sam, "She is a friend of Daddy's."
"Old friend," Gabriel set Sam down, "Go to class now, your father will pick you up after school." Sam nodded and glanced curiously at Sophia before walking away.
Strange, he felt that this aunt looked very familiar, and he had an inexplicable desire to get closer to her. However, it seemed that his father didn't really like this aunt.
Sam slowly walked into the classroom, standing straight with a small stature. His temperament was as cold and elegant as Gabriel's, and his handsome little face was stern. The teacher was teaching everyone how to pronounce Scarlett, and everyone was taking turns speaking, but Sam sat there with his mouth shut, not saying a word.
But the teacher didn't say anything to him, as if she hadn't noticed him. Sophia found it strange, especially when she remembered that he was just using sign language with Gabriel earlier.
Could this child be mute?
"Are you done reading?" Gabriel's cold voice interrupted Sophia's thoughts.
Sophia immediately averted her gaze.
"Gabriel, you truly are despicable. Bringing your ex-wife here to see your so-called 'evidence' of infidelity. No one in the whole world is as shameless as you," Sophia sneered coldly and was about to leave.
Gabriel sneered, "My evidence of infidelity? Do you think he is Tiffany and my child?"
"Isn't he? He looks almost five years old. You didn't have to use a child to humiliate me if that's not the case."
At this point, this man still had the audacity to act innocent. She was truly blind to have loved this kind of man so passionately. Gabriel grabbed Sophia's hand tightly, like a pair of pliers, and dragged her away from the classroom.
