Chapter 206 Don't Scream, My Head Hurts
Just now, Mommy was with the bad daddy, but why were they all wet?
Upon reaching the underground parking lot, Gabriel picked up Sophia and placed her in the car.
Emma's smartwatch rang; it was a call from Caroline.
The call from her godmother came just in time.
"Mommy," Emma answered the call in front of Gabriel.
Caroline's anxious voice came through, "Where are you guys?"
"We found Godmother; where are you, Mommy?"
Caroline paused for two seconds on the other end, "I'm at the hotel entrance."
"I'll come find you."
After hanging up the call, Emma tugged at Gabriel's sleeve, "Uncle, my mommy is here; I have to go find my mommy."
"Get in the car first; I'll take you there." Gabriel looked at the little one.
He had been in such a rush earlier that he hadn't taken a good look at her. Now he noticed that she was wearing a hat and a mask, covering herself tightly and only revealing a pair of sparkling big eyes.
Those eyes seemed... familiar.
An image of Milk Sugar's live broadcast flashed in Gabriel's mind. No, it wasn't Milk Sugar; it was... right, the child he had met at the company before.
So, she was Sophia's goddaughter; no wonder she appeared at the company.
"Uncle, you don’t need to take me; I can go by myself." After saying that, she waved at Sam, then turned and ran.
"David, follow her." Gabriel felt uneasy.
Gabriel carried Sam into the car, shut the door, and then turned the car's heating to the maximum.
He had had a drink and couldn't drive, so he could only wait for David to return.
Upon learning that the fire was a false alarm, Tiffany wanted to go back, but Alex said Gabriel was in the parking lot, so she had to go find him.
After seeing Gabriel's car, Tiffany knocked on the window.
"Gabriel..." Tiffany's voice abruptly stopped when she saw the person lying in the back seat, and her pupils contracted sharply, "Why is she here?"
"Why are you all wet?"
For a moment, Tiffany was a little taken aback.
So, Gabriel had already found out about Sophia and Harrison?
But Gabriel seemed too calm.
Or was it... she had a bad feeling.
"There was a bit of an accident; I'll have Alex take you home."
Tiffany opened her mouth; she wanted to ask what had happened, and why was Sam here too?
But she didn't dare to ask anything.
She was afraid that Gabriel would find out about what she had done tonight.
David successfully handed Emma over to Caroline, then hurried back.
Tiffany watched them drive away. She stood in place and suddenly felt dizzy as a rush of anger surged from her heart to her head. She took out her phone and made a call, growling at the person on the other end.
"Did the plan succeed or not?!"
A hoarse male voice came from the other end, "A lot of unexpected things happened tonight; Harrison swapped rooms with Gabriel at the last minute, and Gabriel also chased those two women away. It's possible... that Sophia might have ended up with Gabriel instead of Harrison."
Tiffany was so angry that she was shaking; she even almost dropped her phone.
So, all she did was to pave the way for Sophia?
Instead of humiliating her, she allowed Sophia and Gabriel to be alone together for a while. If she didn’t do anything in the first place, would any of this have happened?
She nearly fainted from anger.
After the alarm incident, everyone lost their mood to continue dancing, drinking, and eating. Most people went home while a few who drank a bit too much stayed in the hotel to rest.
As for the child who triggered the alarm, the hotel staff didn't catch him, and not long after, the police came again, saying someone reported there was sexual exploitation happening there.
Caroline sent the two children home, then contacted Gabriel, and hurried to Gabriel's apartment.
Both of them were wet. Gabriel could only take Sophia back to his own apartment, where he called the Lancaster’s family doctor to come take a look at her.
When Caroline arrived, the Lancaster’s family doctor was packing his medical case to leave.
"How is Sophia?"
"She's asleep." Gabriel pointed in the direction of the bedroom.
Caroline went in and saw that Sophia was indeed sleeping soundly. She called out a few times but Sophia didn't wake up. Then she came out and said firmly, "I want to take her home."
The two kids were still waiting at home for her to bring their mommy back.
"Are you sure you can take her home by yourself? She's sleeping very deeply." Gabriel's vein throbbed as he rubbed his temples tiredly.
He was wearing pajamas and their V-neck design revealed his beautiful collarbone, on which a light red mark was very noticeable.
Caroline was experienced; how could she not recognize it? Sophia's neck also had it.
Damn it, Sophia better not have been bitten by this jerk.
Gabriel got up.
"You stay here to take care of her."
He went into the room to change, took his phone, went out, and got into the car.
"To the company." He instructed David.
David obeyed.
Caroline alone was limited in strength. It was unrealistic to ask Gabriel to help her take Sopha home since he might discover Ethan and Emma, so she had to call the two kids.
"Godmother, don't worry; we will take care of ourselves. You stay there to take care of Mommy." Ethan said obediently.
"Call me immediately if anything happens."
"Okay."
After hanging up the phone, Ethan continued to work hard on his computer.
He must find out who was plotting against his mommy!
All the events of the night failed to disturb Harrison and Noah.
The next morning, Harrison was the first to wake up; he felt dazed as he rubbed his aching head.
"Damn, how much did I drink last night? Why do I feel so dizzy?"
"Huh? Why is there a hand here?"
Harrison grabbed the hand that was lying across his chest and took a look. It was a woman's hand!
He turned his head, and his eyes widened in shock as an involuntary "holy shit" escaped his lips.
Noah was woken up by the noise. She frowned in annoyance as she slowly opened her beautiful eyes.
She thought she was seeing things; she blinked once, then blinked again.
"Stop blinking, it's me," Harrison spoke, sounding frustrated.
Noah suddenly woke up fully, opening her mouth to scream, but Harrison quickly covered her mouth.
"Don't scream, my head hurts."
"Mmm mmm..."
Harrison let go of her.
Noah swiftly raised her hand and slapped him, her cheeks flushed red with anger.
"Harrison, you hypocrite; you took advantage of me!"
"I took advantage of what? I was drunk too," Harrison protested, feeling wronged. He had no idea what was going on.
"You..." Noah was so angry she couldn't speak. She felt a lump in her throat and, overwhelmed by her emotions, started crying and hugging the blanket in disbelief.
"Hey, hey, don't cry. We're both adults here; don't act like I forced you. You were pretty proactive last night too."
Noah cried even louder.
Last night, she had dinner with investors and producers nearby and was forced to drink quite a bit. When she was about to leave, one of the investors made advances on her, his intentions were clear.
After she sternly refused, the investor was unhappy and an argument ensued, leading to her being recognized and causing some chaos.
Unfortunately, her agent wasn't there at the time, only an assistant was with her. She remembered that Harrison was nearby attending a company annual meeting, so she called him for help.
