Chapter 390 Marrying Someone Else
Gabriel carried Sophia directly to the surgeon's office. When she took off her shirt with the help of the nurse, her entire upper back was covered in bruises, a mix of purple and blue.
It looked shocking.
Gabriel quietly stood outside the curtain. Through a gap, he saw Sophia's back, and his fingers slowly clenched.
When the nurse applied the medicine, Sophia's face twisted in pain.
After a CT scan, fortunately, her bones were not injured.
Once her wounds were treated, Sophia came out looking pale.
Without a word, Gabriel picked her up again.
"I can walk by myself. It's my back that's hurt, not my legs," Sophia said, exasperated.
Gabriel replied, "Walking will still strain the injury."
Sophia felt a mix of emotions she couldn't quite describe.
At the door of the hospital room, Sophia insisted on getting down.
Because Emma had previously prepared Josie, when Josie learned she was Caroline's daughter, she was initially confused but quickly accepted it.
She was even a bit happy.
"Mom, are you really my mom?" Josie asked in disbelief.
"Yes, Josie. I'm sorry I only showed up now," Caroline said, tears streaming down her face.
Josie reached out her small hand to wipe away Caroline's tears.
"Don't cry, Mom. I don't blame you."
Caroline cried even harder.
Her daughter was so kind.
She hadn't been around Josie for six years, but Josie didn't blame her.
This made Caroline feel even more guilty.
Even though she had always thought her child was dead, Josie had been absent for six years, and Josie had been mistreated by Daisy, whom she thought was her mother.
Thinking of this, Caroline felt a stabbing pain in her heart.
Josie's small hand was soaked with Caroline's tears. Seeing Caroline cry, Josie also felt like crying.
Emma handed Josie a tissue.
"Godmother, you're so silly, crying like a baby and making Josie cry too."
Hearing this, Caroline couldn't help but laugh through her tears.
She took the tissue from Josie and wiped her own tears, sniffling.
"I won't cry anymore, and Josie won't cry either."
"Okay." Josie smiled.
The hospital room was filled with warmth. Meanwhile, the wedding had ended, and Daisy had completed the ceremony alone from vows to the end.
Aragorn bought trending topics online to promote the wedding, and the photos posted were all photoshopped.
In the bridal room, Daisy looked at the festive decorations and the symbolic items on the bed, and her face was gradually filled with hatred.
"Caroline, you ruined my wedding and took Josie away. I won't let this go. I will never forgive you!"
The entire Watson family took a private jet abroad overnight.
Paul, who had arrived earlier, looked at Nicholas lying quietly in the hospital bed. He looked just like Caroline did after her car accident, except Nicholas seemed to be in a deeper sleep.
"Nicholas, my dear brother, how did you end up in a coma?" Paul said, "Do you know that while you were in a coma, Aragorn held a wedding for you and Daisy?"
"Caroline was very bold, disrupting the wedding. No, she was there to take her daughter. Josie is now with Caroline."
"Nicholas, wake up soon. If you don't, I'll let Caroline take Josie away and marry someone else."
"Would you dare?" Nicholas said suddenly.
Paul cried. "Caroline has a suitor. Nicholas, how did you wake up so quickly?"
He had prepared a lot to say to wake Nicholas up.
Nicholas stared coldly at Paul.
In fact, he had already woken up before Paul arrived. He had just been resting and was woken up by Paul's noise.
He already knew about the wedding. The news was all over the internet.
Someone had fabricated a touching story, moving those who didn't know the truth.
Paul shrank his neck.
"Don't be so harsh. I was worried about you, thinking you might end up like Caroline, in a vegetative state."
Nicholas slowly sat up, catching the key information in Paul's words.
"Is Caroline in a vegetative state?"
"Yes."
"But you just said she went to the wedding and took Josie."
Paul chuckled and said, "Before that, she was in a coma like you. The doctors said she might be in a vegetative state, but it seems God couldn't bear to see Caroline suffer from being separated from her daughter, so she woke up."
"You see, you and Caroline are very connected. You both fell into a coma and woke up together. You're destined for each other."
Nicholas' already pale face seemed to turn even whiter at Paul's words.
"What happened to her?" His voice was hoarse.
"She was in a car accident," Paul said lightly but with a heavy heart.
Nicholas said, "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"I wanted to, but you wouldn't let me. You even said you had nothing to do with her anymore." Paul mimicked Nicholas' cold tone.
Nicholas fell silent.
He remembered getting a call from Paul.
At that time, he was heartbroken and didn't want to hear anything about Caroline. He was afraid that hearing about her would make him think of her rejection and pay attention to her again, only to have his dignity trampled on once more.
Now, hearing that she had been in a car accident and was almost in a vegetative state, Nicholas couldn't stay calm.
He threw off the covers and got out of bed.
"Nicholas, what are you doing?" Paul quickly went to support him.
Nicholas didn't answer. He got into a wheelchair, took his clothes, and went into the bathroom.
Sharpe and Blake walked in together. Seeing Nicholas out of his hospital gown, Blake asked in surprise, "Where are you going?"
"I'm going back. Sharpe, book a flight."
"No, you can't go back now. Your body is still weak. You need to rest for a couple of days, and you need further brain scans," Sharpe said nervously.
"I must go back."
Nicholas glanced at Sharpe. Knowing he couldn't persuade him, Sharpe went to book the flight.
Paul laughed on the side.
He knew that no matter what, Nicholas still cared about Caroline.
As soon as he mentioned Caroline's car accident, Nicholas didn't even care about himself.
Blake was also helpless and had to prescribe some medicine for Nicholas.
Before leaving, Blake reminded Nicholas again, "I'll find a way to treat your leg, but you must take it seriously and take good care of it. If your leg atrophies, the chances of recovery will be even lower."
Blake was very worried about his friend Nicholas.
As soon as Nicholas and Paul boarded the plane, the Watson family landed and rushed to the hospital.
At Blake's hospital, they learned that Nicholas had already woken up and gone back.
The Watson family members were speechless.
