Chapter 486 Redoing Bone Marrow Typing

Daisy's eyes widened in disbelief. "Mom, what are you talking about?"

"I took Josie and Linda's stuff for a DNA test. Turns out, Josie is Linda's granddaughter, which means Caroline is Diana Wolf," Mia said, lowering her head. "I made sure Diana couldn't survive before doing this. Daniel and Linda need to believe Diana Wolf is dead so they'll stop searching. This way, they'll never know Caroline is their daughter. Daisy, do you want Caroline as your sister? Remember, your engagement to Nicholas was originally Caroline's."

Daisy was stunned and couldn't process it for a long time.

Caroline turned down Wesley's concert tickets. She was tempted, but she had already refused Kieran. Accepting the tickets from Kieran via Wesley felt wrong.

She regretted it, though. She didn't expect Kieran to remember she liked this band.

The concert was at 7 PM, and in the afternoon, Nicholas showed up at the music academy again.

Caroline had to go with him to pick up Josie from school.

After picking up Josie, Sharpe drove them to a restaurant near the stadium.

Nicholas clearly planned for them to eat out.

Caroline felt awkward. Whether she or Nicholas took Josie out, it was always the three of them.

They sat by the window, and halfway through the meal, Caroline saw many people waiting to enter the stadium outside.

If she remembered right, the band she liked was playing there.

Judging by the time, the concert was starting in half an hour.

Caroline felt a bit envious of those fans.

Half an hour later, after finishing their meal, Caroline thought they were leaving.

But as they left the restaurant, Sharpe pushed Nicholas, with Josie on his lap, straight towards the stadium.

Caroline had no choice but to follow.

"Where are we going?" she asked.

"To watch the concert," Nicholas replied.

Caroline was shocked.

By now, there were no fans outside. They took the VIP entrance and got inside smoothly. Even in the VIP seats, Caroline still hadn't fully processed it.

It felt surreal.

Caroline glanced at Nicholas.

He was interacting with Josie, a gentle smile on his face. The flashing lights added a touch of sexiness.

Caroline felt that familiar flutter in her heart again.

The concert started, and the crowd erupted in screams. Caroline couldn't help but scream too.

Josie was stunned.

Nicholas' smile widened.

In a daze, it felt like they were back in the sweet moments of their relationship.

Back then, at a concert, Caroline screamed like this. The band's singer was fine, but her voice was hoarse for a week.

Nicholas covered Josie's ears, but Josie removed his hands and, sitting on his lap, screamed along with Caroline.

Two hours later, the concert ended.

Caroline listened to the last song, tears streaming down her face.

Around her, there were sounds of both quiet sobbing and loud crying.

Half an hour later, as the crowd dispersed, Caroline left through the VIP exit with Nicholas.

"Do you want to take a photo?" Nicholas suddenly asked.

Caroline's eyes lit up. "Can I?"

Sharpe arranged it, and Caroline finally got a photo with her favorite band.

Seeing Caroline so happy, Nicholas felt his heart swell too.

"Ms. Clark," someone called from behind. Caroline turned and saw Wesley.

Wesley looked surprised. "Didn't you say you weren't coming?"

Sharpe had already helped Nicholas into the car, and Josie had climbed in too. Seeing Caroline talking to Wesley, Sharpe waited nearby.

Wesley noticed Sharpe and immediately understood. He whispered to Caroline with a teasing tone, "So you had plans."

Caroline knew Wesley misunderstood but didn't explain. She didn't want to get into how she turned down Wesley's invite but ended up at the concert anyway.

Wesley was with an instructor from the business school.

"Alright, I won't keep you. We'll talk about the concert at work next week," Wesley said, saying goodbye.

"Okay, Wesley, goodbye," Caroline replied.

Sharpe opened the car door for Caroline. As she got in, Sharpe noticed Wesley still looking their way, giving him a strange look.

"Wesley, is that the most beautiful instructor, Caroline?" the instructor asked curiously.

"Yes, it's her."

"Is that her boyfriend?"

"Probably."

"The car they drove must cost a few hundred thousand dollars."

Wesley didn't say anything more.

The car stopped downstairs. It was late, and Josie had fallen asleep on the way. Caroline got out and took Josie from Nicholas' arms.

She didn't leave immediately but stood there, looking at Nicholas. "Thanks for tonight."

"Mm, go on up," Nicholas said, not wanting her to be so formal.

Caroline sensed he seemed a bit unhappy.

"Get some rest."

"Mm."

Caroline carried Josie upstairs. Nicholas just stood there with the car door open, watching them enter the elevator. It was a long time before he closed the door.

On the way, Blake called. "Hey, Nicholas, I have some good news."

"Go ahead," Nicholas replied.

"Our drug shows significant effects in suppressing leukemia. The girl you recommended, her condition has stabilized."

Blake talked about the drug's effects and some side effects.

"Right now, the side effects are smaller than any other special drug on the market. After more trials, we can apply for it to be marketed."

"Mm, I understand."

Blake added, "By the way, I looked at the matching report between this girl and her father. I have some questions and need her father to come for another test. Can you pass on the message?"

"Okay."

Blake rambled on for a while.

After hanging up, Nicholas sent a message to Daniel.

The next day, Daniel put his work aside and took the next flight to Country M for another test.

At noon, Mia invited Clayton over for lunch. From Clayton, she learned that Daniel had gone to Country M again.

Mia asked, "Is Diana's condition worsening?"

Clayton shook his head, swallowing his food. "Her condition has stabilized. My dad went over for another matching test."

"Another matching test!" Mia reacted strongly.

Daisy gently tugged on Mia's sleeve.

"Aunt, is there a problem?" Clayton asked.

"Didn't they do a matching test in the country? Why do it again?" Mia asked nervously.
