Chapter 610 Confrontation
In like ten minutes, the retweets blew up, almost taking down Twitter.
[Is this really MilkSugar? OMG, she's adorable.]
Everyone online was instantly smitten by MilkSugar's pic.
[Is this really MilkSugar, or did some cute girl just catfish us??]
[There are screenshots of MilkSugar's live streams with a mask on, looks legit.]
Soon, the account that leaked MilkSugar's pic got banned, and the photo vanished.
People were shook again.
[She really is that famous dude's love child!!]
[Who’s this guy, and who’s MilkSugar's mom?]
Even with the pic gone and the account banned, other accounts kept popping up, reposting MilkSugar's photo.
This went on till midnight. When Sophia wrapped up her work, she had already forgotten about the news she saw earlier.
It wasn't until the next morning that someone spilled the beans on MilkSugar's parents.
As soon as Larry saw Sophia, he grabbed her arm, all excited.
"Sophia, you... I..." He was so hyped he could barely talk.
Sophia thought something serious had happened.
"What is it? Chill and speak slowly."
Larry almost choked on his words, and it took him a minute to get it out.
"Sophia, is MilkSugar really your daughter?"
"What? MilkSugar is my daughter?"
"Yeah, someone leaked MilkSugar's parents' info online. You... MilkSugar is actually your daughter with Mr. Lancaster, my God!"
Larry felt like he got the wind knocked out of him.
Sophia sensed something was off and quickly pulled out her phone to check.
Even though many articles had been deleted, various social media accounts were still spreading the news that the genius gamer girl MilkSugar was the love child of the CEO of the Lancaster Group, and her mom was an employee of the company.
'Emma!' Sophia screamed in her head.
Sophia suddenly got why she felt so familiar when she saw the masked live streamer "MilkSugar."
She never would've guessed that Emma had quietly become a super popular game streamer!
Sophia was speechless for a moment.
She knew Emma liked to game, but she had no clue Emma was this good and often limited her screen time.
Plus, clever Emma never gamed in front of her.
Sophia frowned. She knew kids had their own minds, but this was too much.
Sophia pushed Larry aside and hurried into Fusion Dynamics Corporation, heading straight to Jennifer's office.
Jennifer was fuming.
"Emma is being called a love child, Sophia. I'll have someone release a statement right now, announcing that Emma is a child of the Blackwoods. No one can bully her!"
Sophia stopped Jennifer. "Aunt Jennifer, please don't rush."
This couldn't be happening naturally. Someone had to be pulling the strings.
Even if she needed to do emergency PR, she had to find out who was behind it first.
At the Lancaster Group, Gabriel sat in his office chair, tapping a pen on the desk.
Alex walked in. "Mr. Lancaster, we found out it was Patricia who spread the news."
Gabriel stopped tapping, his stare icy. "Have you informed Neil Morgan?"
"Yes."
The news got squashed pretty fast, but folks kept whispering about it.
Especially the Lancaster Group employees.
They were totally floored!
There was zero hint of any romance between Sophia and Gabriel!
At work, Sophia and Gabriel were strictly boss and employee.
No one could've guessed they had a kid together.
And their kid was already three.
They were thinking, 'So what about Tiffany? Is Sophia Gabriel's side chick? Oh my God, this is wild!'
"No wonder Sophia could get away with so much at the company."
"I used to think Sophia had something going on with Harrison, but guess not. Seems like Harrison knew all along."
"Of course, Harrison and Mr. Lancaster are tight. He must've helped keep it under wraps."
"Sophia's kinda plain, right? But don't get me wrong, Miss Foster's on another level."
"Poor Miss Foster. She was with Mr. Lancaster for so long and never got married. Could this be why they split?"
"I think it's possible!"
"Possible?" A cheerful voice suddenly cut in.
They froze, awkwardly turning to face Harrison.
"Harrison."
Harrison grinned. "What's so juicy? Spill it."
"Nothing."
Despite Harrison's friendly smile, the friendlier he smiled, the angrier he was.
They quickly scattered.
Harrison sighed. "Rumors are the worst."
Harrison rushed to Gabriel's office.
"Your wife is being called a mistress by others. You gonna do something about it?"
Gabriel replied, "I know."
"Aren't you gonna clear things up?"
Clearing things up now wouldn't make most people believe it.
Gabriel looked up, answering off-topic, "I have a task for you."
"What?"
"Reach out to the employees' private groups and spread the truth."
Harrison was silent.
Harrison quietly logged into his other Facebook account and opened up the larger employee group chats.
Harrison: [I've got the scoop.]
Someone immediately asked: [What inside info?]
Harrison: [Remember that whole thing about Mr. Lancaster maybe having a secret wife?]
[I remember. It was all over the place, but then Miss Foster's appearance squashed that rumor. Was it true?]
[Congrats, you guessed right.]
Thanks to Harrison's efforts, a tweet from a Lancaster Group employee soon popped up online.
Then the news of "Gabriel's Secret Wife" started trending.
Sophia was stunned when she saw it and wondered, 'What is Gabriel up to?'
Netizen: [What kind of plot twist is this? Can I ship this couple?]
"Miss Kelly." Emily walked in. "We've found out it was someone named Patricia spreading the news and hiring paid trolls to spread rumors."
Sophia's eyes darkened.
"Okay, thanks."
Sophia stared at her phone and thought, 'With Patricia's current situation, how could she pull this off and afford paid trolls? Wait, Patricia's streaming future is in Tiffany's hands. This must be Tiffany's idea.'
Realizing Tiffany was behind it all sent a wave of fury crashing over Sophia.
She picked up her phone and called Gabriel.
The call connected quickly.
"Gabriel, if I go against Tiffany, will you still protect her?"
