Chapter 485 Fake

In the evening, Sharpe told Nicholas what he found.

Nicholas watched the footage, eyes cold and calculating. He clipped a part and sent it to Daniel.

Clayton was Daniel's son. For Daniel's sake, Nicholas wanted to see how he'd handle it.

Daniel crashed on the couch as soon as he got home.

His phone buzzed. After a bit, he checked it and saw the video from Nicholas. He shot up.

Clayton was practicing his electric guitar when Daniel burst in.

Seeing Daniel's furious face, Clayton froze.

"Dad, why are you so mad?"

Daniel's eyes were bloodshot, and the lines on his face were deep. He glared at Clayton.

"Pack your stuff. You're going abroad tomorrow."

Clayton panicked. "I just got back. Why are you sending me away again? I'm not going!"

He had just gotten into his dream music academy. He didn't want to leave.

Clayton thought Daniel would explode, but he just slumped into a chair, exhausted.

Clayton suddenly noticed how much older Daniel looked.

Daniel's silver hair was showing, impossible to hide.

"Did you see Caroline again today?" Daniel asked calmly.

Clayton felt guilty. "I went with Daisy to see Caroline."

"You pushed her."

"I was afraid she'd hurt Daisy. It was an accident, and Daisy got scared."

Daniel rubbed his temples. "Do you know Diana needs a bone marrow match right now?"

Why was Daniel bringing this up again?

"I know."

"Caroline is probably the only match."

Clayton went silent.

After a long pause, he said softly, "I'll apologize to Caroline tomorrow. I'll beg her to donate bone marrow to Diana."

Daniel's veins bulged as he held back his anger. "When will you grow up?"

Clayton didn't get it. 'Isn't apologizing enough?'

Daniel said, "Stay out of Daisy and Nicholas' business, and don't go near Caroline again. I'll handle it. But if it happens again, you're going abroad for good!"

Daniel stormed out, leaving Clayton defeated, tears streaming down his face.

He didn't get why, no matter what he did, he could never earn Daniel's approval. Why did Daniel always say he was immature?

He tried so hard, loved his family, loved his parents, but they never seemed to notice.

From childhood to now, their focus was always on Diana.

The next day, Clayton cornered Caroline at school.

Caroline tensed up, watching Clayton warily.

Clayton's eyes were swollen. He looked like he hadn't slept and was very downcast.

He looked like a wounded puppy, ears drooping, tail not wagging.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have pushed you yesterday. I was just too worried about Daisy."

Caroline was taken aback. 'Is he here to apologize?'

"Don't worry. I won't bother you again."

Had Clayton been through something?

Before Caroline could respond, Clayton lowered his head and ran off.

Caroline stood there, feeling strange.

Clayton wasn't really bad, just impulsive and immature. Everything he did was for Daisy.

But he hadn't done anything particularly good either.

She envied Daisy for having a brother so protective of her.

Caroline smiled bitterly.

Just as her heart softened, the pain in her butt reminded her of her grudge against Clayton.

Mia was extremely troubled by Michael's affair and had been very unhappy lately.

Half a month ago, she had someone deal with Michael's mistress, Anna, but Anna had fallen and lost the baby.

Even though Anna had fallen on her own, Michael insisted it was Mia's fault.

Michael hadn't been home for a month.

Mia was exhausted and had no energy for anything else. She looked much older.

When she got a call from Clayton saying Daisy was in the hospital, Mia rushed over and took Daisy home.

Daisy was fine. She just wanted Clayton to help her teach Caroline a lesson.

"Mom, what are you thinking?" Daisy asked.

Mia said, "I won't divorce your father. If I do, I'll have nothing."

Her own family was no match for the Wolf family. Moreover, Michael hadn't inherited the Wolf Group, so her family was even worse off.

Now, her family relied on her status in the Wolf family to get some business.

If she divorced, she would lose all her wealth and status.

And her son Samuel was so excellent and smart.

Back then, Linda and Daniel were entirely focused on finding their daughter and neglected Clayton. Therefore, with Mia's care, Clayton became closer to them, treating her like his own mother and Daisy like his sister.

Under her guidance, Clayton had turned into a brainless rich kid.

In contrast, Samuel had been raised to be very capable.

With Samuel's abilities, he would surely become the Wolf Group's heir, while Clayton, like Michael, would have to rely on his brother.

Daisy didn't want her parents to divorce either.

"Mom, Dad is really into that woman right now. Don't mess with her. Wait for Samuel to come back and see what he says. But about Diana."

Mia's face changed at the mention of Diana. "How is Diana doing abroad?"

Daisy looked serious. "Clayton said her condition is under control."

"No, Diana can't live!" Mia stood up, agitated. "I'm going to Country M."

"Mom, don't worry. Even if her condition is under control, Caroline might not be willing to donate bone marrow." On the matter of not wanting Diana to recover, Daisy and Mia were in agreement.

Daisy didn't want her status as the Wolf family's only heir to be threatened. Diana was almost dead before reuniting with the Wolf family.

Now, with the Wolf family, she had lived a few extra days.

That was already a huge blessing.

Mia thought of something and looked at Daisy intently.

"Mom, what are you thinking?" Daisy asked.

Mia said, "Diana is a fake. Caroline is Daniel's real daughter."
