Ruth sighed, this matter must completely changed the way Gabriel viewed his father.
It was hard to judge who was right or wrong back then, but for Jake, it was definitely cruel.
Jake's mother used him to blackmail the Lancaster family, which wasn't good for him either. His father didn't acknowledge him, and she wouldn't believe that Jake didn't harbor any resentment towards the Lancaster family.
Ruth's face was full of worry.

"Mr. Lancaster!" Alex came in and saw Gabriel in that state. He quickly ran over, poured out a painkiller, and gave it to him.
Gabriel's brows were tightly knit; the painkillers didn't seem to be working.

"Check when Sophia's flight arrives," Gabriel said weakly.
Alex quickly took out his phone and checked, "Around ten o'clock."
"Okay."
Gabriel drank some warm water and rested for a while, so he felt a bit better.
Alex's brows were furrowed so tightly. He wanted to persuade Gabriel to go to the hospital, but he had already tried several times and failed.
He could only hope Sophia would arrive soon.
Perhaps only Sophia could manage Gabriel.

Gabriel hugged her tightly, taking a deep breath of her scent.

"Gabriel," Sophiacalled.
"Yeah," Gabriel replied.
Suddenly, Sophia pushed him away, looking at his slightly pale face. In just a few days, he had lost a lot of weight.
Gabriel hadn't recovered from her sudden cold demeanor when he felt two hands on his waist.
He grabbed her, shyly glancing around, and whispered, "There are so many people here, aren't you embarrassed?"
Sophia glared at him fiercely. What was Gabriel thinking?
She was just checking how much weight he had lost and whether his abs were still there.
Sure enough, his abs were gone.
Sophia's face turned even colder, and she grabbed his hand, pulling him outside.
Alex quickly followed with the suitcase.
Finally seeing Sophia, Gabriel was reluctant to let go of her hand and couldn't take his eyes off her.
On the way, Sophia didn't say a word to Gabriel. Gabriel knew she was still angry about him hiding things from her. He was thinking of ways to appease her.
When the car stopped, Gabriel thought they had arrived at his place. He looked outside.
Gabriel asked coldly, "Where is this?"
Alex didn't answer but looked at Sophia.
Sophia said, "Get out!"
If Sophia asked him to get out, he would get out, even if she sold him.
Gabriel got out of the car reluctantly. Sophia had a bit of a temper, so he had to go along with her.
After getting out, Gabriel held Sophia's hand again and followed her inside.
He looked around, smelling a faint scent of medicine and disinfectant in the air.
But this place didn't look like a hospital.
It looked more like a medical research facility.
Gabriel roughly guessed Sophia's intention, and his brows furrowed slightly.

Sophia met with Blake and showed him the examination report she had brought.
Blake said gravely, "Surgery must be done as soon as possible."

Gabriel's thin lips parted, "Are there any other treatment options?"
Blake looked puzzled.
Sophia stepped in front of Gabriel and said to Blake, "Just follow your best plan."
Blake nodded.
Blake went to work, and Gabriel wanted to explain the current situation to Sophia. However, when Sophia turned around, Gabriel saw her red eyes and tears falling and panicked.
"Why are you crying?" Gabriel quickly reached out to wipe her tears.
"Gabriel, if you can't even take care of yourself, how can you protect me and the kids?" Sophia accused with a sob.
"Even if you protect us now, if your health deteriorates because of it, what will we do in the future?"
Sophia really wanted to punch him twice.
Gabriel was stunned. He only wanted to protect the people he cared about and hadn't thought about what would happen to his own body.
Listening to Sophia's questions, he couldn't say a word.
"Grandma and the kids are at the Blackwood Manor now. They are safe with the Blackwood family protecting them. Now, I want you to be healthy and safe too," Sophia said dominantly, lifting her chin.
Gabriel's emotions surged, his Adam's apple bobbing. He pulled Sophia into his arms and whispered in her ear, "Okay, I'll do as you say."
Sophia felt a bit relieved.
She was determined to make Gabriel undergo surgery immediately.
Before coming, she had made all the preparations. Nicholas's medical team was the best and would keep everything confidential.
Next, they needed to find a reason to spread some news, telling the hidden enemies that Gabriel had left Country M.
"I'll handle this," Gabriel said.
Sophia nodded.
She just wanted Gabriel to undergo surgery; she trusted him to handle the rest.
Sophia's trip to the country had probably been discovered by the other side, but they might not know her purpose.
The next day, Gabriel and Sophia went to the airport sweetly, saying they were flying to Municity for a vacation. Alex stayed behind to handle some matters.
Actually, after creating the illusion that they had boarded the plane, Sophia and Gabriel quickly got off and left through another exit.
After that, Gabriel stayed at Blake's research facility to prepare for surgery, and Sophia stayed with him.
In City B, inside Micro Circuit Group, Jake saw the footage of Sophia and Gabriel holding hands sweetly at the airport.
A pen was snapped in half.
