Chapter 721 The Fake

That night, Sophia didn't dare to turn over. The consequence of sleeping in one position for a long time was that she woke up the next morning with her whole body aching.

Blake came in with his assistant to check on Gabriel.

As soon as he opened the door and met Sophia's gaze, Blake's expression was quite interesting and varied.

"Sorry, I'll come back later."

Sophia was stunned.

She was about to get up when Gabriel pulled her back down with one hand.

"It's time to get up."

Gabriel, with his eyes closed and lips slightly parted, said, "Sleep a little longer."

Gabriel was clearly a patient, but he held her so tightly that she couldn't get up even if she wanted to. She had no choice but to lie down and accompany him for another ten minutes.

When Blake came in again, both Sophia and Gabriel were already up. Sophia took a kettle to get some water.

Blake watched her walk out, rubbing her waist with her hand, and immediately gave Gabriel a thumbs up.

Gabriel was puzzled for a second but quickly understood Blake's meaning from his gaze.

He pursed his lips and wondered, 'In his current condition, what could he possibly do with Sophia?'

But he didn't plan to explain.

Blake lifted Gabriel's shirt to check the wound.

"Great, your wound hasn't torn." Blake admired Gabriel once again.

Gabriel smiled faintly without saying a word.

Blake changed his dressing and left some oral medication before leaving.

Sophia returned with drinking water and breakfast.

After Gabriel finished breakfast and rinsed his mouth, he patted the bed.

"Lie down here."

Sophia questioned, "What are you going to do?"

Sophia wondered, 'It was daytime. Did Gabriel want to take advantage of her again?'

Gabriel wasn't afraid of getting into trouble.

For the sake of his injury and her own aching waist, Sophia decided not to get on the bed.

Gabriel smiled lightly, "Isn't your waist sore? Come up, and I'll give you a massage."

"Are you sure?" Sophia squinted her eyes suspiciously.

Gabriel said, "If you don't want it, forget it."

Sophia lay down.

"If your wound hurts, I won't continue."

Gabriel replied, "Okay."

He was careful with his strength, not affecting the wound.

Gabriel's technique made Sophia feel particularly comfortable. Her soreness gradually disappeared, and she fell asleep again.

After massaging her for more than half an hour, Gabriel shook his slightly sore hand, then pulled the blanket over her. He carefully got out of bed, took out his laptop, and started working.

He had left work for a few days, and he didn't know how things were going with Alex. Owen's matter needed to be resolved quickly.

And Jake, was he really his half-brother?

"What did you say? She's not in Municity?"

Jake stood up from his chair.

Jake wondered, 'Sophia wasn't in Municity, so where was she? And where was Gabriel?'

Jake's eyes darkened.

He had been tricked by Gabriel!

Sophia and Gabriel might still be in Country M.

But why did they deceive everyone and hide their whereabouts?

Something must have happened.

Jake stood like a statue, looking out the window, quietly contemplating.

After a long time, he picked up his phone and called Owen.

"Gabriel might not have left. Send someone to carefully search for his whereabouts."

Owen replied, "OK."

After hanging up, Jake changed into a black suit and went to the Phoenix Group's new product launch.

Today was the day the Phoenix Group released their latest chip. Victor, along with Mr. Vitelli, introduced this world's most advanced chip to everyone.

The release of this chip directly pushed the Phoenix Group to the top of the global technology rankings. As soon as the market opened that day, the Phoenix Group's stock in Country M skyrocketed.

Gabriel watched the launch from his hospital room on his laptop.

The global online viewership had reached over a billion, and the live stream had lagged several times.

Gabriel was now certain that the leaked data from the X Project had been taken by the Phoenix Group, who then optimized and improved it to make it their own product.

Harrison sent a message: [Gabriel, did you watch the Phoenix Group's launch?]

Gabriel: [Yes.]

[I suspect the data we leaked was stolen by them, but without evidence, we can't do anything.]

[We don't need to do anything.]

[What do you mean?]

[The data they stole is incomplete. They'll suffer the consequences sooner or later.]

Harrison sent a sly emoji.

Indeed, the leaked data was crucial, but it also required other data to form a complete product.

The Phoenix Group had replicated a counterfeit product in their own way. It seemed flawless now, but time would teach Victor what it meant to suffer the consequences.

Gabriel closed the live stream page, and Alex sent a message.

Alex: [Owen is looking for your whereabouts.]

Gabriel's eyes flashed coldly.

Jake had realized that he and Sophia might still be in Country M.

Gabriel glanced at the still-sleeping Sophia.

Now that his surgery was done, the recovery process would be long, but he couldn't wait.

He had to send Sophia back to the States first. Only when she and the kids were in a safe place could he take the risk.

Gabriel replied to Alex, [Find a way to get Jake's DNA sample.]

Alex: [Got it!]

The next second, Gabriel's laptop screen suddenly went black, followed by a line of text.

Ethan: [Hi, Daddy, need my help?]

Gabriel rubbed his forehead and typed helplessly: [Are you guys okay? Listening to Celeste and Ruth?]

[Of course!]

[Is Emma crying?]

[She cries every day.]

Gabriel pictured Emma's pitiful crying face in his mind, and his heart ached a bit.

Gabriel: [Take care of Emma.]

[I will.]

[Find a way to hide all information about your mom and me being in Country M.]

[OK!]

Finally, Ethan sent another message: [Take care of Mommy.]

Gabriel: [OK!]

Then the black screen returned to normal, and Gabriel noticed that Ethan had added another layer of protection to his laptop's firewall.

Sophia woke up, rubbing her eyes.

She had been worried about Gabriel for the past few days and hadn't slept well at night. Today, she finally caught up on her sleep.

Seeing Gabriel working, Sophia's face darkened.

Sophia said, "Blake said you shouldn't be overexerting yourself yet."

Gabriel really didn't take his health seriously, he needed to be taught a lesson!

Gabriel quickly closed his laptop and smiled sheepishly, "I just checked a few emails."

Sophia didn't believe him.

A week later, Gabriel's post-surgery wound had healed well, and he could go home to recuperate after the stitches were removed.

Sophia found Blake, and they talked in his office for over an hour.

At the same time, the Lancaster Group's branch in Country M encountered another issue.
