Chapter 157: Getting the Hair
Josie really surprised Caroline, who asked in astonishment, "Josie, have you played the violin before?"
Josie shook her head. "No."
"Is this your first time playing the violin?"
"Yes."
Caroline had already given the children two lessons, mainly teaching them musical notation. They hadn't gotten to touch the violin yet, but Josie, on her first try, quickly picked it up and was able to play the simplest piece Caroline had taught last time.
If she hadn't taken classes before, then she must be really talented.
"Josie, do you like the violin?" Caroline's heart blossomed with joy. It wasn't easy to come across such a promising talent.
Caroline didn't need to take on an apprentice. She was still young, and her career was still on the rise. It wasn't necessary for her to take on an apprentice right now, but since she had come across one, she didn't want to miss the opportunity.
Besides, she quite liked Josie and had an indescribable fondness for her.
"I like it." Josie didn't hide her love for the violin.
The moment she saw Teacher Caroline playing the violin, she fell in love with the Scarlett music. Teacher Caroline had elegance and gentleness.
"In that case, sweetheart, talk to your mom and dad when you get home. If they agree, you can learn the violin from Teacher in the future, okay?"
Josie's eyes lit up for a moment but then dimmed.
She nodded her head heavily.
"Teacher, the principal is looking for you." Teacher Xiaoqin came over to call Caroline.
"I'll go over right away. Josie, follow Teacher Xiaoqin and don't wander around. Wait for your mom and dad to pick you up." Caroline reminded her thoughtfully before she left.
Josie obediently agreed.
Just as she left, Josie's mother arrived to pick her up, and Teacher Xiaoqin handed her over to her mother.
Once they got in the car, Josie called out, "Mom."
"Hmm? What's the matter?" The young woman was dressed stylishly, with exquisite makeup. It was hard to believe that she was a mom.
She didn't even lift her eyelids as she held her phone.
Josie opened her mouth, but in the end, nothing came out.
"What is it?" It had been a long time since she heard Josie speak, and the woman grew impatient.
Unconsciously, Josie shrank her shoulders, and her voice became softer, "I want to eat a hamburger."
"That's junk food; it's not good for you." The woman stopped talking, engrossed in her phone.
Caroline quickly came out of the principal's office and didn't see Josie. Upon asking Teacher Xiaoqin, she learned that Josie's mother had come to pick her up.
Caroline felt a tinge of regret. She had planned to meet Josie's parents and personally discuss the idea of having their child learn the violin.
In the kindergarten...
Osie can also learn, but when learning with others, she can only learn superficially. It is difficult for her to grasp the essence. Moreover, with parental support, she can only put in the effort to practice privately.
That's alright. If Lele wants to learn, she will talk to her family. If they agree, they will contact her.
On this side, Madam specifically came to pick up the children after school. It had snowed in City B, and everywhere was covered in silver-white.
The snow on the road had already been cleared, and the cars were moving slowly. Madam was dressed warmly, wearing the scarf and gloves that Emma had given her.
The two little ones noticed their great-grandmother at first glance. They were overjoyed to see that their handmade gift was loved by someone else.
The children gathered around their great-grandmother and called out to her.
"Great-grandmother, where are we going to eat something delicious?" Emma, the little foodie, was the first to ask about eating.
"What do you want to eat?" Madam smiled.
She also wanted to stay calm and wait, wait until they were on vacation.
Last night, she had a dream that she could finally go and meet her husband and son and daughter-in-law. They were all looking forward to her joining them underground.
Madam was truly afraid that her time was running out, so she came to find Emma even in such cold weather.
"Hot pot." Emma felt that on such a cold day, she must eat hot pot to feel comfortable.
Every year, after the first snow, Mommy would personally arrange for a hot pot meal.
Such a wonderful food should also be tasted by Sam and great-grandmother.
"Okay, let's go eat hot pot."
Emma worriedly held Madam's hand.
"Can you eat hot pot?"
After these few visits, she also observed that great-grandmother's health wasn't very good, and that she couldn't eat many types of food.
Emma's thoughtfulness made Madam extremely content. She truly wished that they were her real great-grandchildren.
"I can eat. Don't worry, little Sam can eat too."
Madam had chosen a hot pot restaurant with a good environment and delicious food. She even reserved a private room specifically, and the three of them sat together excitedly.
"You like spicy food, so let's order a spicy hot pot." Madam remembered Emma's preference and asked the waiter to bring a spicy hot pot.
Emma: "Great-grandmother, Sam can't eat spicy food. Can we order a half spicy, half non-spicy hot pot?"
Madam had completely forgotten about the half spicy and half non-spicy hot pot. After she got older, she basically didn't eat hot pot anymore. There was a dedicated chef at home who prepared nutritious meals for her, and all three meals were strictly followed according to a set standard.
"Alright, let's order a half spicy, half non-spicy hot pot."
"Great-grandmother, did you come to pick us up from school because you miss us?" Emma hugged Madam's arm, full of admiration and affection.
"Yes, you clever little rascal, you figured it out again." Madam teased Emma.
"Hehe, Emma and I miss you every day too, great-grandmother."
"Oh, isn't that perfect? I came to see you just at the right time."
Sam really wished that Daddy could like Emma as much as Grandma did. Then Emma could come to their house every day and not worry about being seen by Daddy.
But every time he mentions his dad, Emma changes the subject.
He felt so helpless.
The hot pot arrived, and Betty helped them put the vegetables in and serve them. The two adorable little ones played and frolicked in the private room.
Madam squinted her eyes and saw how active Sam would become under Emma's influence. She felt extremely pleased.
Taking advantage of the children's distraction, she secretly handed the hair she just obtained to Betty and asked her to keep it hidden.
"I need to go to the restroom."
After Betty left, Emma said that she wanted to go to the bathroom.
"Wait for Aunt Betty to come back and take you," Madam was worried about letting the child go to the restroom alone.
Emma: "Grandma, don't worry. I won't wander around. I know where the restroom is."
After saying that, she quickly opened the private room door and went out.
Emma held the long chopsticks in her small hand and picked up a piece of meat from the pot, placing it in Madam's bowl.
"Grandma, have some meat."
"Good child."
Madam's attention was diverted by Emma. She thought that since Emma was so clever, she shouldn't get lost when going to the restroom.
Betty walked to an empty corner with the hair in her hand. She took out a transparent plastic bag from her purse and carefully put a few strands of hair inside.
Emma hid behind a large potted plant, using it to block her body. She remained unnoticed by Betty as she looked around.
Once Betty left, Emma emerged from her hiding spot, her expression unusually serious.
