Chapter 416 Contract Nullified
Caroline stirred her coffee.
"As long as you help me get custody of Josie, all the conflicts between Daisy and me can be forgotten."
"After that, I'll take Josie abroad and never bother you again."
Daisy asked, "How can I trust you?"
"You don't have to, but as long as Josie is with Nicholas, I'll be with her."
Caroline's words hit Daisy hard, leaving her silent.
If she could get Josie out of the way, her own child could become the heir.
After a moment, Daisy agreed.
"Fine, I'll help you! But you must take Josie abroad and never come back."
"Okay," Caroline agreed without hesitation.
She was desperate and only wanted to be with Josie, no matter where. She could support and educate her.
In the car, Linda frowned and said, "Shouldn't you discuss this with the Watsons?"
Daisy replied, "Yes, I'll go now."
Linda dropped Daisy off at the Watson family and left.
Aragorn listened to Daisy and pondered for a while.
"Dad, I have no other choice. Only if Caroline signs the settlement as the victim, Mom will be released. Otherwise..."
Gummidge objected, "Josie is Nicholas' daughter, my granddaughter. We can't let Caroline take her."
Aragorn remained silent.
"Mom might even go to jail. She hit Caroline because of me. I almost lost my baby."
Aragorn finally spoke.
"If she wants Josie, let her have her. Josie won't benefit the Watson family and might drag us down."
Gummidge was reluctant. "But she's still Nicholas' daughter."
"Daisy's baby is also your grandchild," Aragorn reminded him.
Gummidge said nothing more.
"We won't tell Nicholas. Josie's information is with us. Just transfer it out." A ruthless glint flashed in Aragorn's eyes.
Caroline's presence hindered Nicholas. Without her, he would have been more successful.
She came back after six years to control Nicholas with Josie. He ignored his family and stayed with them.
Aragorn had made a decision. 'Caroline must leave! Last time she survived by luck. This time, I'll act after she leaves.'
The matter was settled, and Daisy quickly informed Caroline.
Caroline deleted Daisy's message and started preparing to go abroad.
She planned to take Lisa with her, so she got Lisa a passport first.
Nicholas had no idea about Caroline's agreement with Daisy.
Feeling responsible for Caroline's beating, he felt guilty and avoided her, leaving early and returning late every day.
Regarding Mia's case, he applied some pressure, and with solid evidence, the court approved it.
Sophia listened to Caroline and fell silent. She understood Caroline and wouldn't stop her.
"Take this money," Sophia offered.
"I was going to tell you, I plan to use this money to pay back Nicholas. Once I'm abroad, I'll work hard to repay you."
"No rush," Sophia said.
"Sophie."
"What?"
"I'm so glad to have you."
They smiled at each other.
Before Caroline left, the three kids pulled her aside. Emma handed her a bank card, which Caroline had opened for them.
"Caroline, this has my streaming earnings, Ethan's earnings, and Sam's pocket money. Take it."
"This is your money for your mom. I can't take it," Caroline said, shocked.
Ethan said seriously, "Caroline, you and Josie will face many challenges abroad. With money, you can solve them. Emma and I can earn more. You need this money now."
Sam nodded.
Emma added, "Take this money and take care of Josie."
She didn't understand why Caroline had to take Josie abroad but supported her unconditionally. Josie could only grow strong and happy with Caroline.
Caroline was touched and hugged the kids, her eyes red.
Meeting Sophia and becoming the godmother to these kids was her greatest fortune. They always supported her in tough times. She would protect them with her life.
Caroline and the kids came out with red eyes. Sophia thought they had cried saying goodbye and smiled helplessly.
The next day, Caroline had her cast removed but still needed crutches. It was better than a wheelchair.
That night, she stayed up in the living room after putting Josie to bed, waiting for Nicholas. The TV played a romance drama, but she couldn't focus.
Around 11:30 PM, the drama ended, and the news began. Caroline finally heard the door open. Nicholas was back, with Charles wheeling him in.
Usually, the living room was quiet, but today, the TV was on.
Caroline stood up. "Nicholas, we need to talk."
"Okay," he said, signaling Charles to leave.
Nicholas wheeled himself to Caroline, his expression gentle. "What do you want to talk about?"
He felt happy, as it was the first time in a while Caroline had initiated a conversation. He looked at her with anticipation.
But she coldly took out the nanny contract and a bank card.
"I've gathered the money. The contract is void."
