Chapter 155: Fiona's Purpose

Sophia had no idea about Gabriel's actions, and she would never have imagined that Gabriel would help her teach Randall a lesson.

In the future, she would definitely keep her distance from Randall.

This incident made her realize that she still wasn't strong enough.

Without any evidence, she had no way to deal with Randall.

If she were strong enough, Randall wouldn't dare to do anything to her.

A sinister look flashed in Sophia's almond-shaped eyes.

She remembered that Lancaster wanted to establish a new brand, focusing on high-end customization. All the senior designers in the design department were trying their best to take on this important task.

The company had not yet decided whether to have internal designers lead this brand or hire external ones.

Before, Sophia had only been focused on taking the children back to M country, so she didn't care about the other things besides agreeing to promote Flora.

But now her mindset had changed.

Returning to M country was one thing, but since she was still in this country, why couldn't she take this opportunity to increase her visibility here?

To quickly enhance her reputation, she had to have her own original brand. Flora had already changed designers, and her involvement now was just taking over.

A mere successor does not deserve to have fame.

Sophia saw Margaret return to the office and got up to make two cups of coffee in the pantry.

"Knock, knock."

"Come in."

Margaret looked up and saw Sophia, a smile appearing on her lips. "Perfect timing, I wanted to find you."

Sophia placed one of the cups of coffee in front of Margaret and held the other to drink herself.

"This is my favorite blend of coffee beans; have a taste."

Margaret took a sip. "Not bad, which brand is it?"

Sophia mentioned an English brand name and then got straight to the point, "What do you need me for?"

"Sophia, to be honest, among all the designers, I like you the best. Your designs are bold, innovative, always hitting the mark with me. And ever since you joined Flora, the sales have reached new heights. So, this time, the company wants to select a designer to represent us in the national fashion competition, and I recommended you."

Sophia was surprised.

"Designer Chen and Designer Lee are better than me. Why not choose them?"

"They are well-established designers with a strong background, so they would do well in the competition. However, most of the participants in this competition are emerging designers, and each one is exceptional. Designer Chen and Designer Lee have their limitations in terms of style, but in comparison, your style is more versatile and suitable."

Since choosing this profession, Sophia had participated in countless competitions, big and small, and had won numerous awards. She was not afraid of this national competition.

It's just that this would likely bring her more criticism once again.

"What's wrong? Don't want to?" Margaret frowned at her.

"No, I'm willing." Sophia quickly realized that she shouldn't care about what others do.

This was an opportunity. As long as she could achieve a good rank, she would have a certain status in the domestic fashion industry.

Then, she could cooperate with the company to establish her own brand, and it would be a case of one plus one equals more than two.

"Oh, by the way, you came to see me, not just to bring me coffee, right?" Margaret asked inquisitively.

"It wasn't just about the coffee before, but now it is."

She didn't need to investigate about establishing a brand. In the workplace, she still had this kind of intuition.

Margaret pushed her to participate in the competition because she wanted her to make a name for herself.

She wouldn't let Margaret down.

Margaret smiled. She liked Sophia's cleverness, never needing to explain anything.

In any case, she had already fought for the opportunity. Now, it was up to Sophia to seize it.

Fiona saw Sophia walking out of the director's office with a smile, and her eyes flickered as she came up with some malicious ideas.

"Sophia is trying to please Director Li again," she muttered, loud enough for the people around her to hear.

Sophia glanced at her but didn't respond.

Fiona snorted and ran over to get close to Sophia.

"Sophia, let's have lunch together."

Sophia smiled insincerely, "Sure."

"I'll treat you."

"Okay."

Another free lunch.

Usually, Larry and Charlotte would ask Sophia to have lunch with them, but today Fiona took the lead. Larry wanted to follow but was glared at by Fiona.

"Why is Sophia getting close to Fiona? Has she forgotten how Fiona used to target her?" Larry stomped his foot, frustrated with Sophia's lack of progress.

Charlotte spoke softly, "Let's go eat by ourselves."

At the cafeteria, Sophia picked whatever she felt like eating and piled up a full plate. Harrison widened his eyes.

"Sophia, are you a pig?"

"You're the pig."

"You eat so much, aren't you afraid of gaining weight and not getting married?"

Sophia gave him a disdainful look, then carried her tray to find a seat. Fiona approached with a tray that only had an egg and a bottle of milk.

"Sophia, I'm fine now... Oh, Harrison, what a coincidence."

Huh?

What was so coincidental about this?

Lancaster's cafeteria offered a wide variety of dishes at cheaper prices compared to outside restaurants, and they were also healthier.

As long as Harrison didn't have any business engagements, he would always eat at the cafeteria. So, wasn't it normal to run into him here?

"Harrison, there's a seat here; let's sit together," an employee eagerly invited. Of course, Harrison had to save face, so he sat down and Fiona happily sat beside him.

Sophia gave Fiona a strange look. She seemed to know why Fiona was getting close to her.

"Do you always eat so little?" Harrison was amazed at how little Fiona was eating, even less than a cat.

"Yes, I'm on a diet. I can't eat many things," Fiona acted pitifully, putting in a lot of effort for her weight loss and even intentionally straightening her posture.

Sophia silently had her meal.

Harrison forced a smile and concentrated on his food.

"Oh no," Fiona "accidentally" spilled milk, and coincidentally, it dripped onto Harrison's suit. Fiona started to panic and searched for something to wipe it off.

"Sorry, Harrison, I didn't mean to. I'll help you clean it up."

"It's fine, no need to wipe it," Harrison quickly moved his leg away.

What was this woman thinking? How could she not know?

Oh, he wasn't someone just anyone could flirt with.

"It's okay," Fiona lowered her head as if she had made a mistake.

Sophia was utterly surprised. How could Fiona change her mind so quickly?

Didn't she like Gabriel very much?

How could she now be trying to flirt with Harrison?

Tsk.

Harrison noticed Sophia's amused expression and he finally understood why Old Lancaster was often annoyed by her.

"I'm done eating; you take your time," Harrison walked away with his plate in frustration.

"Harrison," Fiona felt reluctant.

She hadn't done anything yet, and Harrison was already leaving.

"Sophia..." she turned her head, only to see Sophia looking at her with a smirk, giving an inexplicable sense of dread.

Feeling guilty, Fiona quickly averted her gaze.

"Fiona, you don't understand our Harrison at all. He would never get involved with female employees in the company," Sophia laughed.

"If you want to get close to Harrison, I'm afraid you'll have to leave Lancaster first."
