Chapter 48 Teaching this wicked woman a lesson

Not long after Ethan and Emma left, Tiffany appeared. Seeing Sam, Tiffany's mood turned sour. Why is this little brat suddenly here? She wanted to have a nice date with Gabriel tonight.

Sam stood there with folded hands, expressionless, but deeply worried inside.

Mrs. Foster doesn't approve of him making friends. If she finds out he brought friends to the company to hang out, she would be very angry and might even scold Ethan and Emma.

They were friends he had worked so hard to make, and he had to protect them!

Sam wanted to find Ethan and Emma, but just then, Gabriel returned. Seeing his son suddenly appearing in his office, Gabriel was surprised and delighted, lifting little Sam into his arms.

"Why did you come to the office all of a sudden?" His tone was very gentle, gentler than it had ever been with Tiffany. No wonder Tiffany felt jealous of a child.

Sam gestured, "I missed my daddy and came to see if he ate well." Gabriel chuckled softly, “Don’t worry, I ate well and since you are here, let daddy have dinner with you tonight.”

But Sam shook his head, "I promised Great-Grandma to go back and keep her company." He needed to find Ethan and Emma very quickly. He could not let his daddy know about them now, otherwise Mrs. Foster would wind out and the he would be friendless again.

"Alright then." Gabriel thought for a moment. He probably wouldn't have time to go back to the old mansion today, so he instructed David to take good care of Sam. David was just about to inform his boss that the young master had made a friend but as soon as he opened his mouth, Sam pulled him and gestured, “ I want to leave.”

David had no choice but to close his mouth. He would say it another time. Surprisingly, Sam did not stay. Tiffany was the happiest of them all, as soon as Sam left, she clung to Gabriel’s side.

"Since Sam can't accompany you, let me have dinner with you," Tiffany said softly and affectionately. Gabriel neither accepted nor refused. Soon, Alex came to remind him to attend a meeting.

While Gabriel was busy, Tiffany remained in his office, playing with her phone. The last time she got angry, she accidentally used that card to send a text message, scaring her so much that she could not sleep well for days.

She wasn't sure if Sophia already knew it was her who sent those threatening messages all those years ago, but just to be safe, she had to get rid of that card. She should have thrown the card away five years ago, but she thought she might still need it, so she kept it. Who would have imagined that Sophia was still alive?

But even if Sophia found out, what could she do? She had no evidence that she had sent those messages, and even if she told Gabriel, there's no way he would believe her.

Thinking about this, Tiffany's heart grew sinister.
She felt more at ease.

...
Instead of going directly to the design department to find Mommy, Ethan and Emma decided to take a tour of each floor.

The two little treasures were very low-key and went unnoticed.

When they finally arrived at the design department, they didn't see Mommy, but they overheard someone badmouthing her.

"I purposely spilled coffee on her sample clothing because I saw that it was made of this fabric. Now the company doesn't have this fabric anymore. Let's see how she's going to complete the new product launch," Fiona was making a phone call outside the stairwell.

"She's already lost this competition."

"I will make her pay a painful price, and I will definitely make her leave Lancaster."

Ethan and Emma listened with anger, exchanging a glance, determined to teach this wicked woman a lesson! Ten minutes later, Fiona finished her call and was ready to go back to her office, as she approached the elevator door, a little girl collided with her head-on.

"Ah..." she let out a low scream. But no matter how fast she reacted, it was too late. Her clothes and shoes were instantly stained with coffee.

"Where did this brat come from!" Fiona grabbed Emma's wrist.

Emma, scared, shrunk her neck and tearfully apologized, "I'm sorry, Auntie. I didn't mean to do it."

"No, you did it on purpose. Do you know where this is? Who are your parents? How could you bring a child to the company? Do you know how much these shoes and clothes cost?

They're designer brands!" Fiona’s voice, in the state of a shrew, attracted the attention of those passing through the elevator entrance.

"Fiona, what's wrong with you?" someone curiously asked.

"Whoever's brat spilled coffee on me. My outfit is very expensive. I must make her parents compensate me for it," Fiona lifted her head high, like a proud peacock, as if her clothes and shoes were the most expensive in the entire company.

Emma burst into tears and cried out, "Auntie, I really didn't mean to. My mommy works so hard overtime every day, and I just wanted to bring her a cup of her favorite coffee..."

"We don't have any money, and my dad doesn't want me anymore. Mommy works really hard to support me alone. Auntie, let me clean it for you, please don't make us compensate,"

Emma said as she tried to wipe the stains away with her sleeve.

She wiped her shoes first and then went to clean her clothes. However, the coffee stains from her shoes were transferred to her clothes, causing the stains to spread and grow bigger.

Fiona's face grew darker and darker. She pushed Emma away.

"Stop wiping. The more you wipe, the dirtier it gets, you stupid child."

Emma, caught off guard, was pushed against the wall and fell to the ground, in a miserable state, unable to get up.

Someone couldn't bear to watch and quickly came forward to help Emma.

"Are you alright, child?"

"My head hurts so much, like I bumped it," Emma acted weak, as if she was about to faint any moment, her face gradually turning pale.

Ethan secretly gave Emma a thumbs-up for her acting skills.

Truly worthy of being the little devil who often fakes illnesses in kindergarten.

"Fiona, you've gone too far. How could you hit a child?" someone accused Fiona indignantly.

"Quick, take the child to the hospital and prevent any further incidents," someone suggested.

“Child, who is your mother?” Could Emma really reveal that her mommy was Sophia?

"My mommy is..." She couldn't finish her sentence before passing out. Fiona panicked and someone called for an ambulance. Larry squeezed through the crowd and approached.

"Stop hitting her. Let me carry the child and rush to the nearby hospital," he carefully took Emma from someone else's arms. Having witnessed the whole scene, Larry initially thought Fiona only enjoyed teasing her subordinates with lower positions. He never expected her thoughts to be so vicious, sparing not even a child.

He had just taken photos and videos, determined to post them online and expose Fiona.

Meanwhile, Ethan had already finished recording and was ready to go down the stairs to meet Emma. But as he turned and entered the stairwell, he caught sight of a familiar figure, seemingly Emma's mother.

And there was also a child.

Ethan sent a command to Emma through his wristwatch and curiously followed them upstairs.
