Chapter 669 Tools

Nicholas was still stuck in Country M, and Paul had no one else to look after Trevor, so he had to stay at the hospital himself.

Out of nowhere, Trevor started bawling.

Paul rushed into the room, finding the caregiver trying to calm Trevor down.

"Why's he crying?" Paul asked.

"Maybe he's hungry," the caregiver replied.

"Then feed him."

"We're out of formula."

"Then go buy some."

The caregiver just stood there, silent.

Paul looked around and realized there were no baby supplies. He hadn't even thought about getting formula for Trevor.

"You keep trying to calm him down; I'll go get some formula."

Here he was, a rich guy without even a girlfriend, now stuck taking care of a baby.

Paul felt wiped out.

But Nicholas had told him to do it, so he had no choice. If anything happened to Trevor, Nicholas would lose it, and Paul would be in deep trouble.

Paul drove to a nearby baby store and bought a bunch of formula.

The caregiver was shocked to see him come back with a dozen cans.

"What? Did I get the wrong kind?"

"No, it's right, but you bought way too much."

"Whatever, just make the formula already."

The caregiver added, "We also need baby bottles."

Paul snapped, "Can't you just tell me everything at once?"

Feeling a bit hurt, the caregiver said, "This is basic stuff every parent should know."

"What else do we need?"

"Diapers."

Paul had his bodyguard jot everything down and made another trip. When he got back, Trevor had already messed his diaper.

The caregiver couldn't handle it all alone, so Paul had to step in, making the formula under her guidance. Then he fed Trevor and got him to sleep.

Half an hour later, Paul collapsed into a chair outside the room and called Nicholas.

"Nicholas, you gotta come back soon. Taking care of a kid is exhausting. I never want to have kids."

'Kids are just too much work,' he thought.

Paul complained into the phone.

"Nicholas, Nicholas, you there?" Silence. Not even a breath. Paul wasn't sure if Nicholas was even on the line.

Finally, after what felt like forever, Nicholas's voice came through, "Yeah."

Paul pouted, "The doctor said Trevor's condition is really bad. He needs a heart transplant, but the chances of success are low."

Paul filled Nicholas in on Trevor's condition.

"Yeah, I know. I'll handle it. Just keep Trevor away from Daisy."

"Got it."

When Paul went back into the room, Trevor was already asleep in the caregiver's arms.

Paul thought about it and decided that taking care of Trevor was too much. He might as well hire four nannies to take turns looking after him 24/7.

With that idea, Paul immediately contacted a domestic service company.

The next day, four top-notch nannies, carefully selected, showed up at the hospital.

Christina came to check on the room and saw several people standing guard at the door. She thought something was wrong. As she got closer, she heard Paul explaining Trevor's situation to the four middle-aged women.

"You two handle the night shift, and you two take care of him during the day. Alright, the night shift can go rest now and come back at eight to take over." After Paul gave his instructions, two of the women left, and the other two went into the room.

Christina curiously asked, "Mr. Watson, what's going on?"

Paul glanced at Christina's name tag. He hadn't had a chance to see her name clearly yesterday, but now he did.

"Miss Mitchell, these are the four nannies I hired. They'll be taking turns looking after Trevor from now on." Paul plopped down in a chair, looking all relaxed. "Miss Mitchell, doing your rounds? Go ahead."

Christina frowned a bit. Paul's custom-made clothes and that flashy diamond ring screamed 'new money.'

She shook her head and went into the room to check on Trevor.

Meanwhile, Daisy was losing it after Trevor was taken away.

'Trevor's my only link to Nicholas,' Daisy thought. 'Now that he's gone, what am I gonna do? Oh, I know, I'll play the victim online.'

Daisy quickly jumped on social media, posting a tearful video about how the Watsons took Trevor. She claimed she was worried sick about how they'd treat him and feared he'd be mistreated.

The video blew up, getting hundreds of thousands of views in just an hour.

The pressure was back on Nicholas and the Watson Group.

Paul saw the online backlash and laughed angrily.

He wanted to do something, but Nicholas told him to just focus on Trevor and not worry about the rest.

More and more people online were bashing Nicholas, demanding he return Trevor to Daisy and pay child support.

Two days later, Daisy, looking all pitiful, showed up at the Watson Group asking for Trevor. Someone snapped a pic of her outside the Watson Group's door.

Soon, a bunch of people with a strong sense of justice decided to help Daisy and organized a protest at the Watson Group's entrance.

The crowd grew, and someone leaked that Trevor was at a certain hospital, causing a mad rush there and total chaos.

Paul, hearing the news, immediately took steps to protect Trevor.

"Daisy's too much. Is she even human? She doesn't care about her own son, doesn't get him treated when he's sick, and uses Trevor to gain sympathy."

Paul, fuming, was ready to expose Daisy's true colors.

Suddenly, his phone rang.

It was Nicholas, and Paul quickly answered.

Half an hour later, a bunch of security personnel and police showed up to restore order at the hospital, keeping the crowd outside the gates.

Then, two luxury cars rolled in.

Daisy immediately recognized the car in front as Nicholas's.

"Nicholas, it's Nicholas," she shouted.

The crowd realized it too and started yelling.

"Nicholas, you jerk, give the child back to Daisy!"

They pushed forward, and the security and police struggled to keep things under control. The car finally made it into the hospital and stopped.

Sharpe got out and helped Nicholas, while Caroline also got out and pushed Nicholas over.

Bodyguards quickly surrounded them for protection.

Nicholas's face was stone-cold, and his gaze swept over the crowd with icy intensity.

Even in a wheelchair, he was intimidating.

The crowd fell silent.

Daisy felt a knot in her stomach as everyone quieted down when Nicholas appeared.

"Nicholas, where's Trevor? Can you give him back to me? I can't live without him."

Daisy broke through the security and ran over, but the bodyguards stopped her in front of Nicholas.

"Nicholas, Trevor's not doing well. If you keep this up, he'll die. For the sake of our past, please let Trevor go."

"I'm willing to raise Trevor on my own. I won't ask for child support. I can even..."
