Chapter 27: Planting Insects
The sound of Emma's scream caught the teachers attention, and she looked up to see Emma clutching her stomach in pain, crouched on the ground. She quickly hurried over.
"Sweetheart, what's wrong with you?"
Emma said in pain, "Teacher, my stomach hurts."
"Hmm, which class are you in? I haven't seen you before in any of the classes”
A cute and lovely little girl like her should have left an impression, but she had never seen her.
"Teacher, I am in the middle class. My mommy just transferred me. Teacher, my stomach hurts so much." She was in so much pain that she could barely speak, and her voice became softer and softer.
The teacher couldn't waste any time and quickly picked her up and took her to the clinic.
Meanwhile, Ethan took the opportunity while they were away and snuck in. The children were all asleep, and he carefully found Sam's bed.
Sam was lying on his side, and Ethan thought he was asleep. He quietly walked around to the front and was startled by Sam.
"You're not asleep." Ethan tapped his chest in surprise.
Sam looked at him curiously. It was the boy who delivered the clothes that day!
Ethan made a "shh" gesture with his finger on his lips, then realized that Sam couldn't speak. He lowered himself and leaned in next to Sam to talk to him.
"My mommy kindly made clothes for you. You can't team up with your dad to bully my mommy anymore, understand?" Ethan warned softly with a handsome little face.
Sam blinked and made a sign with his hand, asking, "Who are you?"
Ethan couldn't understand.
"What did you say?"
Sam made another sign.
Ethan furrowed his brows, had a moment of inspiration, and took a notebook and pen from another child's bedside, handing it to Sam.
"You can write down what you want to say."
Sam took it, and to Ethan's surprise, he actually wrote. And his handwriting was much more beautiful than Emma's.
He couldn't help but widen his eyes.
"You can write too."
Sam indicated that he could write a lot.
After reading his question, Ethan explained,
"My name is Ethan, and I have a little sister named Kelly. My mommy's name is Scarlett. She's a very good mommy and loves us a lot. She also loves every good child, so in the future, when she gives you things, you mustn't refuse, okay?"
Rejecting her would make mommy disappointed and sad. Even though Ethan found it weird that mommy was so nice to other children besides him and Emma, this child was special, so he would be more generous, as long as he didn't make mommy sad.
Sam swiftly continued writing on the notebook.
"Is your mommy a bad person?"
"My mommy is not a bad person at all. It's your dad who is a bad person. I saw him bullying my mommy, but don't worry, as long as you don't bully my mommy, I won't stop mommy from being good to you." Ethan thought he was being very magnanimous.
However, Sam stared with wide eyes and indicated, "My dad is not a bad person either."
Ethan snorted. "Your dad hit my mommy."
Sam's eyes widened in disbelief.
"That's impossible."
"Daddy, although strict, never hits anyone," Ethan understood.
"You are his son, of course you wouldn't say your dad is a bad person," Ethan said knowingly.
Sam fell silent.
The noise made by the two woke up a child next door. Ethan saw that he was about to cry, so he immediately raised a finger to his mouth and said, "Shhh, don't cry."
The child blinked and looked at Ethan's nervous yet cute face, inexplicably quieting down and nodding to indicate that he would be good.
This was the second cutest child he had ever seen. The first was Sam.
Afraid that Emma couldn't wait too long, Ethan said to Sam, "I have to go, bye."
Sam grabbed his clothes, forcing Ethan to stop. Sam quickly wrote on a notebook, "Will you come see me again?"
Ethan was about to say that he didn't have time, that this visit was solely because Emma insisted on teaching him a lesson.
Sam continued to write, "I don't have any friends, I want to be friends with you."
Ethan hesitated for a moment. Looking at his pitiful appearance, he decided to give in.
"Alright, I'll come if I have time."
Ethan quickly finished speaking and hurried away. The child watched him leave, feeling a sense of reluctance. He wanted to be friends with him too.
Ethan found the infirmary and peeked inside. When Emma saw her brother, she immediately found an excuse about needing to use the bathroom and ran away while the doctor and teachers were still unaware.
Then the two hid. When the teacher came out and couldn't find Emma. Worried, she began searching for her everywhere. The sound of a child crying came from the lounge, so she had to go there first to check.
The two mischievous kids slipped away while the teachers were not paying attention, sneaking out just as they had sneaked in.
Then they returned to their own preschool. Fortunately, the two preschools were not particularly far apart, only three kilometers, so taking a car didn't take long.
However, when they came back, the preschool was in chaos. Seeing the sudden appearance of the two children, Sophia stood there with a serious face, not saying a word.
Both children felt their hearts skip a beat and glanced at each other.
"Where were you?" Sophia asked calmly in the end.
"I was playing a treasure hunt game with my brother and then fell asleep there," Emma pointed to a corner of a small shed next to the security booth.
There were many miscellaneous items piled up there, and it was also a blind spot in the line of sight.
The teachers looked at each other.
"No wonder we couldn't find them, we never thought of that place."
If the two children had hidden inside, it would have been extremely difficult to spot them.
Fortunately, they came out on their own. If something happened inside, the preschool wouldn't know how to explain it to the parents.
Sophia looked at Ethan, who nodded in agreement with Emma's words. Similar incidents had happened in their previous country, so Sophia temporarily believed them.
The two little troublemakers sent their mom away, and Emma patted her chest.
"Good thing I'm smart."
Ethan had a serious expression. Emma pulled him and said, "Did you put the bug in his clothes? Is he scared?"
Ethan had already discarded the bug, but he couldn't tell Emma, otherwise she would find a way to teach Sam a lesson.
"Yeah," he coldly replied and walked towards the classroom, while Emma happily danced behind him.
Great, she avenged her mommy. Because of this commotion, Sophia's interview was delayed, so she had to call and apologize and reschedule.
Seeing that the Eagle Nest Kindergarten was not far from here, Sophia wanted to go and see Sam.
When she arrived, the teacher was leading the children to play outside, and Sophia saw Sam standing alone, ignored by everyone.
A hint of bitterness surged up, and Sophia turned and wiped away her tears. Her determination to snatch Sam back became even stronger and more resolute.
Her phone rang, and Sophia took it out to see an unfamiliar number, thinking it must be a call from a headhunting company, so she answered.
"Hello."
"Hello, is this Scarlett?"
