Chapter 344 What Evil Plans Were Brewing

"Mr. Lancaster, Mason has been pestering to see you." Alex received several calls from the police and finally had to come in to report to Gabriel..

When Alex rushed to Sunset Heights last night, the property had already subdued Mason, and Tiffany was brutally beaten. Tiffany's face was swollen, and there wasn't a good spot on her body. Fortunately, after being taken to the hospital for examination, it was all external injuries, nothing too serious, just disfigured.

The evidence against Mason for assault was solid, and he had been detained.

"Do you think there's too little trouble?" Gabriel was indifferent; this matter wasn't worth reporting to him.

Alex nervously said, "He said he wanted to talk to you about some things regarding Miss Foster." Gabriel's gaze turned cold.

"I'll go explain the situation to the police." Alex regretted coming in to report.

Mason wasn't an important figure; why would Gabriel waste time meeting him?

"Wait." Gabriel stopped him. "Come to the police station with me after work."

"Ok," Alex replied.

Around six o'clock, Gabriel arrived at the police station.

Mason was brought to a small room, and Gabriel sat there, scrutinizing Mason like a criminal, staring at him intently. Mason was intimidated by his presence and felt a bit like backing off. But the thought of Tiffany daring to play him made him unable to bear it. Tiffany even wanted to sue him.

"Mr. Lancaster, you've been with Tiffany for so long, you must not know her true colors." Mason wanted to negotiate with Gabriel, "As long as you get me out, I'll tell you all about Tiffany."

Gabriel stood up. "You stay put."

Mason, seeing him about to leave, hurriedly said, "Tiffany is just a bitch; she deliberately provoked me to hit her for the sake of going to school, conveniently seen by others. Tiffany cries everywhere just to get sympathy from others, to be sponsored for college. When she was in college, she had several wealthy boyfriends who spent money on her; she could go abroad by cheating money from those boyfriends. Mr. Lancaster, I advise you to stay away from Tiffany, or one day, she might take all your property without you knowing."

Mason acted like a savior, kindly advising Gabriel.

"Are you done?" Gabriel wasn't interested in these and thought he might get some different information from Mason, but it turned out to be useless. Gabriel got up to leave again.

Mason, surprised that he had revealed so much on Tiffany, shouted, "I saw Tiffany with a few thugs last time; she must be up to something bad again."

"Mr. Lancaster, you're with a woman who's cunning and does all sorts of bad things every day. Aren't you afraid she'll strangle you in the middle of the night?" Mason added.

Gabriel paused, his phoenix eyes narrowing slightly. "When was the last time?"

Mason recalled, "Last month, or the month before, not long ago. Cherish life; stay away from Tiffany, Mr. Lancaster. I've told you so much; you must get me out." Gabriel left without looking back; no matter what Mason said, he never stopped.

Outside the police station, Gabriel instructed Alex, "Go to the prison tomorrow and check on Raskolnikov and his gang of thugs."

Alex was taken aback. Gabriel glanced at his watch. Damn, he had wasted so much time again. By now, Sophia must have been cooking; he wondered if he could make it back in time.

Thinking of the food Sophia had made, Gabriel's stomach ached faintly. Passing by a nearby pharmacy, Gabriel bought a box of stomach medicine.

Tonight, David and Jennifer were guests at Sophia's house. They brought gifts, and the three children met David for the first time, looking a bit scared at his serious demeanor.

Jennifer looked at her husband sternly. "The children are so cute; why the long face?"

David smiled helplessly. "Hello."

"Grandma, who is he?" Emma asked boldly.

"He's my husband; you should call him Grandpa," Jennifer said.

"Hello, Grandpa," Ethan and Emma sweetly called Gabriel while Sam gestured.

Upon hearing the word "Grandpa," David suddenly felt as if he had aged.

Jennifer remembered that she had accepted Sophia as her goddaughter. "From now on, you should call us in another way."

Emma tilted her head, puzzled. "Why? Mommy said our Grandpa and Grandma are all in heaven."

Heaven?

David didn't fully understand Sophia's background, and Jennifer had only heard about Sophia and Gabriel's relationship from Colin. Jennifer explained, "We are your god-grandparents, and your mommy is our goddaughter."

The three children understood Sophia, and Jennifer's relationship was like theirs with Caroline.

"God-Grandpa and God-Grandma, hello." The children sweetly changed their address.

This time, Jennifer was prepared with gifts, handing one to each of them. Ruth watched, slightly surprised. The Blackwood family actually liked Sophia. It seemed that Sophia had a bright future ahead.

Ruth was genuinely happy for Sophia. The Blackwood family was no ordinary family. Even the Lancaster family might not compare to the wealth and status of the Blackwood family.

On this occasion, Sophia altered the mode of address entirely, receiving a warm embrace from the couple, David and his wife.

Gabriel, as expected, returned belatedly.

This time, Sophia opened the door. "The children haven't finished eating yet; they'll leave after they're done," Sophia said unkindly.

"I..." Gabriel caught a glimpse of David from afar, so he quickly changed his words. "I'm here to talk to Mr. Blackwood about something."

"If you have something, it can wait until after dinner." Sophia frowned. "Then I'll go in and wait for Mr. Blackwood to finish eating."

Sophia remembered that last time at Lancaster's, it seemed like Gabriel and David were discussing something; she didn't want to hinder David's business, so she let Gabriel in.

"Mr. Lancaster?" David was a bit surprised to see him.

Gabriel calmly explained, "I live next door; I heard Mr. Blackwood was here, so I came to say hello."

"Thank you," David said.

"Have you eaten, Dad?" Sam gestured.

"Not yet," Gabriel replied.

Sam immediately ran to the kitchen and brought out a set of utensils. "Dad, come eat."

Gabriel happily sat down. Sophia remained silent.

David suddenly felt like he was being used as an excuse and was a bit unhappy.

This time, to cater to everyone's taste, Sophia deliberately made the meal lighter. Gabriel ate with great satisfaction and even had a couple of drinks with David.
